City A Port,
Dr. Valentina Zokimosa stood on the Pier, toggling her satellite phone. She dialled up but no one seemed to answer. She was worrying about Jonah. If he got safely rescued. But to no avail.
“Come do your job, you got them silicon chip, polymer frame mobile communication device!”
No matter, how many times she tried. No one picked up the phone. It was frustrating Doctor Zokimosa.
A women approached the doctor. She called out to the doctor.
“Is there a problem, Doctor?” She inquired with a stern face.
The woman, Brigitte was her only security at the moment. As other members of her security, Dominique, , Amir and Boyd were out making their way through the war throtten city with Jonah.
“I can’t get through to anyone!” She answered with frustration. She waved her arms around as to signify her anger.
“Oh, that might be because of the signal jammers they set up over there.” Brigitte turned her head and pointed the doctor to a ECM ground unit that was set up right beside them. It was surrounded by 2 SPAAG systems and soldiers armed with surface to air missiles to deter any aircraft from
In wake of the violent uprising, the military took the initiative to trigger a information black out. One of way of doing that, is by setting up a signal jammers in battlefield to control the flow of information. Thus ensuring the Government’s legitimacy as the victim in this conflict. Information and public support can change the tide of a war. The military of this country knew this very well as they had studied conflicts like the Zhongguan War and the Perushkan Bush War.
Dr. Valentina after looking at the signal jammer placed beside them thought to herself, “so they have started doctrining the information already? Boy, I pity the truth.”
She placed her phone away into her purse. She then started gazing at Brigitte. Especially her chest.
Brigitte was of the same stature as Dr. Zokimosa. Her stern and serious facial expressions made Dr. Zokimosa, “Wow, do the military give extra perks for maintaining a face like that, come on. Atleast Smile!”
Brigitte had short bobbed brown hair with little shades of red. A token of heritage from her Albergencian ancestry. She had freckles on her very, Emmerian face. Which was unusual for a woman in her early 30s.
But stroke most of Dr. Zokimosa’s curiosity was her chest, which was flat. This further drove Dr. Zokimosa to frown. Nothing seemed to go in her favour, she thought to herself. Irony was not her favourite thing to say the least.
Brigitte noticed Dr. Zokimosa’s gaze on her chest. Her face turn a shade red as she blushed at Dr. Zokimosa. Her face showed a little shyness but soon reverted to her stern face.

“Oh, look at that, she isn’t a machine after all. Though it’s a shame she doesn’t have some big tits. I always wanted a bodyguard I could grope.” Dr. Zokimosa thought.
Brigitte’s blue eyes soon became filled with ominous odd, and it was pointed at the Doctor.
Dr. Zokimosa soon realised the ominousness of Brigitte’s gaze and reverted her eyes at the the ship that was docked alittle further from. “Yikes! would you chill. I was just looking and you don’t have good assets to begin with. Though that ass is fine. Maybe I should start drawing comics again.” - Zokimosa pondered inside her mind. She pondered whether she should carve her sexual imagination into making comics again and publishing it on the World Wide Web as a independent . As she did in her years as a Mangaka in the Ezo Republic. Before a assault battery charges were brought against her by a company exec she assaulted. Though Dr. Zokimosa always claimed it was a accident and the guy totally deserved it.
But then after, her mind reverted to the name of the ship, she was supposed to leave on. It was a container ship that was plotted to dock at a port in Alexandria. Dr. Zokimosa and her “security escort” were just hitching a ride.
On the other side of the city, in the administrative district where laid the regional center of power, the regional parliament. Currently it was vacant, as all important politicians and legislators were being moved to safe locations under orders of whoever was in control of the government.
The regional parliament building was similar looking to the High Court building, a remanent of the colonial days. The building sort of resembled a palace. It was a residential building in it’s hayday, but after independence.
Infront of the building entrance, was a flight of stair with both sides of the stairs having a pair statues of a man putting his hand on his breasts and another hand pointing above. With varying quotations being inscribed on them, one of them being
“LIBERTY AND FREEDOM MUST BE PROTECTED AT ANY COST, FROM TYRANTS AND SAVIOURS ALIKE.”
A flock of men garbed in military attire walked down the stairs, they ran through the pavement. In an orderly fashion to a flurry of vehicle and other unidentified personnel.
The lot of the regional parliament had been turned into a temporary operations site. Tents were set up and people were working rigorously on their portable laptops, plugged to server incased in container fitting their size.
All the people present wore the military camouflage worn by NADF but they were not natives of the country. And the insignia was not present on their right arm. Even MPs had arm brand signifying their status as police for the military.

But those people did not carry any guns. Rather they were more like civilian technical specialists. But the men who were cladded in black, were armed with MARS-84 rifles and Skorpian SMGs.
Around the temporary site, were APCs, trucks and jeeps. Most likely what they used to transport their equipment and themselves.
Several armed men were standing around a particular jeep.. Among them was a man, dressed not in military clothing but formal clothing.
He was talking on a Satellite phone.
“We have got the last 5 names. Three are already confirmed to be dead by the NADF. But the last pair are alive. Corporal. Malik is out of our reach. His been detained at the Emmerian consulate in Etrusca. But Captain. Veil is still in the country, his at the airport, being guarded by a SOG detail. We have a asset, who can get a strike team close to the target. Should I proceed with it?”
The person on the other side of the call, replied. “No, that will not be needed. Thank you. Doctor Zokimosa said she will take care of him. Along with the whole investigation committee. She cares more for her hide, than we do. We have already wasted too much time on this little problem. We have more pressing matters in the West Pangea. Pack up and head for Sokutu, Colonel.”
“As you wish, chairman. I’ll pack up the equipment but what should I do with the Decima assets present here?” The colonel said.
A second of silence took hold of the moment. But then after, the chairman questioned, “Do they have anything that could lead them to be identified?”
“No, we took all the cautionary measures to make sure they aren’t incriminated in the case of capture or death. Dental, facial and fingerprint recognition is impossible.” Answered the colonel.
“Make their contracts devoid then. They have outlived their usefulness.” Said the chairman on the other side.
“Will do, Chairman.” Answered the Colonel.
After that conversation was done. The colonel put away his phone from his ear to his inner compartment of his coat.
A man set forward behind the colonel while the others were at a distance. The man in question, had a red beret signifying that he was a commanding officer or higher ranking than a normal commissioned officer.
“What are our further orders?” He asked.
The colonel did not turn around, but he just kept looking in the other direction. In view of the lush green garden that was beside the regional parliament’s parking lot.
The garden was filled with trees old and new. Trees big and small. It was blooming season, so naturally it was filled with bright colour of flowers as well. The colonel was thinking of how beautiful it looked. Though he realised long ago, that the world hides it’s troubles behind a curtain of beauty and temptation. The neo-kushanic architecture garden was once a resting place for visitors and parliamentarians but now it had become his earning for mourning.
“Fazio, do you miss any of it?” He asked the man with the red beret.
“I beg your pardon.” Answered Fazio, who was not sure what the colonel had asked.
The colonel still kept staring at the garden that was a maze of greenery. He gave a light touch on his forehead.
The colonel soon regained his composure, and turned around to the Captain. He said to them. “It’s nothing, Captain. Pack up the equipment and the unit, discard the assets as procedures were put in place. I’ll be going ahead of you, please inform the men at the airstrip to refuel the aircraft.”
Fazio straightened his body and saluted the colonel, “Roger that, sir!”
“I’ll see you in Sokutu, Andrea.” Said the Colonel, as he hopped into the jeep.
The colonel’s jeep started going, several soldiers hopped into two APCs and they went also. As security for his travel to the airstrip. The city was a war zone after all.
Captain Andrea Fazio stood there and watched as a convoy of vehicles flurried out of the parking lot and into the main road.
A gunship helicopter appeared a little further from the emplacement. It flew over the Captain’s head. Forcing the beret off his head by the force of the rotter blades chipping out gusts of wind. But the Captain had good reflexes. He caught the beret in time before it could go any further than a hand’s stretch from him. He then put on the beret again, while muttering “Damn birds.”
In the distance, the gunship heli join the colonel’s convoy. Heading towards the airstrip which was on the other side of the raging battlefield in the eastern portions of the city. Flames of burning vehicles and crashed aircraft and bombardment could be seen from highest points in the city.
A country was treading towards a destination that had either prosperity or ruin at the end, depending on which path it took.
