《Bound in the Dark》Illumes Truth Part 6

Illumes POV:
Well, that's the way this is heading. I'm standing here about to face off with my best friend who clearly wants me dead. No. He wants to destroy everything. If it has to be this way. If it's come down to this. I'm sorry Shadow but I can't let you do this.
"So, Shadow you ready to face off? Let's get one thing straight before we go at it. I'm still your bro and would always be. So, no matter what you say and do, it won't change that but right now I have to stop you from killing everyone."
He laughs at the idea of me saying I'd stop him but yeah this is what I need to do, I want to avoid killing him and to be honest I don't think I could kill him even if I wanted to. With how fast he is, he'd probably kill me before I even bat an eyelid but I've got to try and avoid that. I need to find a way to keep him at a distance.
I then summon my swords, throwing them at him all in an attempt to get him further away from me. It seems to work as he continues to jump as each sword comes close to him. This leaves a trail of swords buried in the ground. I haven't forgotten that he has summoned swords too and as the last of my swords are thrown at him, he starts using his but not to harm me. Instead, he uses one huge sword and rides it like a surf board? What the heck that's hilarious! Wait no time to joke, my life's on the line here.
Okay so I get back into focus and I see him hovering over me in the sky. He summons more swords and hurls them downward like rain which I try and avoid as best I can. Some even cut me and it stings but I'll pull through. As the last weapon is summoned, he falls to the side, off the sword he's standing on and grabs a hold of the last weapon which fell with him making it fall even faster towards me. When he reaches the ground, it feels like everything is moving in slow motion and I see the sword edge closer to me. I avoid it just by a hair and see my reflection in the weapon as it comes hurtling down. I kicked the weapon and used it to propel myself away. It brought distance between us but now I can barely see him with all the sand in the air.

"Hey Yo Shadow, you still kicking?"
He chuckles with a response of: "As much as I'd like yes. Would you mind standing still? It's about time we end this charade old buddy."
I see. So, it's time huh? To get serious. I wish it hadn't come to this but now that we're here, I see no other way.
"Yeah, I'll stand still but if you want to kill me, you'll have to move a whole lot faster than that."
I then chuckle myself as the sweat drips onto the ground. This is intense. If my plan goes wrong, I'll die. Not just me but everyone else too. I guess I can't afford to mess up then. Here goes.
Luckily, he takes the bait. He plunges himself straight towards me. It's hard to see him with that speed of his but if I'm correct this time then he's moving in a straight line. I hope this works.
I then see a glimpse of something heading towards me and that's when my chance shows up.
"Shadow I'm done playing around!"
I then hear this gross sound as if something's tearing and I see... blood. It's... not my own though. It seems my plan worked. He missed. He missed with his sword but mine went straight into him. I summoned one the moment I saw him appear in front of me. Luckily, he summoned before he appeared in front of me, if it wasn't for that tiny glimpse I saw, I'd be dead.
Damn. I hate that it had to happen like this but... I can't stop him without fighting.
"Shadow you fell for my trap. I know it probably hurts and I'm sorry for that but you need to stop."
He says nothing as he coughs up blood. It's quite an amount but he seems unfazed by it. What's weirder than that, is that he's moving towards me as the sword impales him even more. He then whispers something in my ear and yanks the sword out. Jumping back, he summons one massive blade in mid-air and sends it my way with no hesitation. Crap! I won't be able to stop it this time. I'm in deep trouble now. What do I do?

Right then the Angel saves my butt. Opening up a portal and teleporting me back into the Garden while Shadow is left in that place.
All that Shadow said in that moment was "Perfect."
Of course, I have to know why he said that but first I need to calm down. I thought I was about to die there and by the hands of my buddy no less. I'm kind of shaking at the moment. Who would've thought? It's kind of ironic. The one person that needed to be protected now doesn't need it and wants to kill everyone. I guess he doesn't need me anymore. Oh yeah! I need to find out by this Angel what's going on but before that...
"Thanks for your help I would've been toast if it weren't for you but don't think I forgot that you left me there."
Responding with a "I am here to help." the angel then bows down with one arm folded in front of him and the other behind his back. What is he a butler all of a sudden?
"Oh yeah Shadow said something once he saw your portal open up. He said 'perfect'. Why would he say that?"
Wait. The Angel looks stressed? Do angels even have stress? It's kind of funny. I would've have been laughing if I didn't just witness what Shadow could do. This is bad. He copied my power. Can he copy others? Maybe he just has something similar. I know his power is great but there's no way he could destroy everything like that. There must be something deeper to his power. I need answers and I know just the person to answer them.
I then turn to The Angel.

The True Endgame
What defines endgame content? Is it raiding epic dungeons to take down the strongest bosses there are, or is it facing off against other players to climb the ladder and become the top PvPer? Is endgame content gathering materials and crafting the strongest and most exotic equipment that there is, or is it all about playing the market and amassing more wealth than everybody else? Some people even argue that fashion and minigames are endgame content! Ryouta has already done all of that. Having spent most of his life playing MMO after MMO, he now finds himself wanting to live a virtual life that is far more relaxed and casual than what he is known for. To Ryouta, the true endgame is fishing. Cover illustrated by KoeHaru1!
