《Bound in the Dark》Illumes Truth Part 4

Illumes POV:
What did he just say?
'Kill Shadow'
What does he mean kill Shadow? Shadow's already dead. How could I kill him? Even if he were alive, I would never kill him. How could this asshole say something like that?
"Hey you. I got a question for you. How would I kill someone who's already dead? Even if he were alive I would never harm a single hair on his head."
With a smile the Angel turns around and walks off. As he continues to get further away he begins slowing down his pace only to stop at a door that appeared out of nowhere. He then says: "Oh but he is clearly alive. Has your so called best friend not told you..."
He then walks through the door while I'm left thinking...
Did he just say what I think he said? As soon as I heard that I ran towards him, wanting him to tell me more but before I could reach him the door disappears.
Though he is gone I can still hear a few words from him saying: "You know nothing about him. He will kill us all... unless you kill him first."
I don't know what to say. It's that little bit of hope that my buddy is alive that left me speechless this time. How could he be alive though? Wait, did that guy just say I have to kill Shadow before he kills us.
No, I won't be a victim of manipulation.
There's no way he's telling the truth but what's with this feeling. It's telling me to trust this Angel. As soon as I thought that he comes back and with some sort of dagger that's glowing so much it'd blind you the second you look at it. Which is why I closed my eyes.
That's when I feel something cold enter me.
I open my eyes and guess what I see. The freakin Angel stabbed me! I look up...

"You bastard, what are you doing?"
He smiles and says: "Well let's just say we need to speed up the process of your true self."
"What?"
I see myself getting closer to the ground which must mean I'm about to die. Wow, first Shadow then me huh? What a cruel fate we share huh... Shadow? I guess I'll be seeing you soon.
That's what I thought but oh boy was I clearly mistaken. I thought I'd die but instead I awoke with a smirk and a warm feeling in my gut.
"What just happened? I feel more alive then I ever have."
"You have been introduced to the Light."
"What? You stabbed me! You asshole!"
Wait this isn't the time to panic. I'm alive so it must mean this Angel has a reason for keeping me alive. I breath and calm myself down then begin to speak again:" So why ain't I dead and why'd you stab me?"
"Well... it might seem strange to you but in death you live and with the help of that weapon I used, you have been reborn."
"Uh, how?"
I have a feeling he's going on one of his rants again. Crap. I'd ignore him so badly right now but I need to hear this.
The Angel begins: "Your mortal soul has been separated from your body."
"Wait."
The Angel interrupts me:" You are no longer mortal."
I shout out: "HUUUUUHHHHHH?"
"Yes, your death with the help of the dagger has rendered you immortal. It is required for you to become a god such as what the humans would call us. It is also a requirement for you to be able unleash your own power and use it at its fullest. Try and think of a weapon that you desire."
I look at him confused. Like I said when he speaks... *sigh*. Anyway I can't say he's lying because I do have this feeling inside me that something's changed. So I give what he suggests a try. I imagine this really cool sword that I wanted as a kid and guess what happens, a thousand of those swords appear! Like it's nothing!

So you should know what I'm about to do next, right? I look at the Angel with my face completely unfazed and let the swords fly in his direction letting them stop a hair away from him.
"I need answers so start talking."
He just laughs:" Ah it is never a dull moment with you, is it? I anticipated that you would turn on me."
"Yeah I ain't killing Shadow, no way in hell. I just want to know where he is, that's all. I'll let you go after you send me to where he is."
"No, I do not think that is a good idea. He would have no problem killing you once he sees you."
I laugh:" What are you talking about? Shadow would never and besides like you said I'm immortal. How would he even kill me?"
He responds: " Oh but he would and could. That being inside him might be the only thing that could actually kill you. He is no longer the friend you think he is. He has long forgotten your friendship. If you do not believe this then I do think you should see him for yourself at a distance, of course."
I start getting upset with my face matching the change in my voice.
"WHERE IS HE?"
The Angel just swings his head side to side confirming that he has given up and would finally take me to where Shadow is. I finally get to see my buddy. Yeah!
Once the portal opens, I see the Angel point a finger towards it gesturing me to head into it. I step through, Angel in tow with the weapons I summoned still being on him, of course.
We then end up in some place that looks like some sort of desert, no wait. It is a desert. It looks like it goes on forever just as the blue sky within it does. Weird.
"Yo what's up with this place? Where on earth are we?"
"We are not on earth. We are still in our realm but we are in a different part of it. This area was specially made for your friend Shadow."
I laugh: "Ay Shadow you're making them build whole deserts for you? That's my buddy. I hope you're giving them hell!"
The Angel responds with a sigh: " Your friend is about to give everyone hell, Light Bringer. He is about to release the darkness within him to destroy everything. The Cataclysm is coming. That is why this place was built. That is why I sped up the process of your full awakening and that is why you need to kill him. This place may have been built to hold him but I fear he would break easily out of here and eventually cause havoc."
"Didn't you say this place was built for him? Couldn't you keep him here?"
I ask questions as we walk and walk some more. As we walk over a hill of sand the sight of something black like tar comes into view. It's like a giant bubbling orb that keeps on growing and rapidly too at that. It's kind of alarming how fast it's growing to be honest. It's weird. It's giving me a familiar feeling. I don't know how, I've never seen this thing in my life.
"Do you think that something like that could be contained, Light Bringer?"
"What the heck is that thing?"
He looks at me concerned while saying: "That... is Shadow."
"What?"
"That is him."
"It can't be."

It's very experimental so readers; do note. There are major changes in writing style within the series as I keep testing things out. Of course, that does not mean that the story actually deviates from its intended progress. It just means that your reading experience may fluctuate quite often... Anyways, I hope you enjoy this story. :D p.s. not sure if there will be any sex scene in this novel but the boy starts off as 7... so... long time till we get there. May have lollies though!
