《Bound in the Dark》Illumes Truth Part 2

Illumes POV:
This angel is...
Really starting to get me mad, all these things he keeps telling me, it's not making any sense. Well it is but it's just too much to process at the moment. Ah speaking of the dev... I mean angel, here he comes.
The angel walks into the garden where Illume has been left to think.
The Angel speaks: "So are you ready to learn more about yourself, Light Bringer."
"Light Bringer? What the hell is that? And what do you mean more about myself?"
The Angel responds:" Well, there is plenty you do not know about yourself. There is more to you than meets the eye young one. I am just thinking I should start addressing you by the name you were given as a youngling... Light Bringer. You see you are the one who would and could stop the Cataclysm if that is your wish. There is no other that could, especially not the Pheonix bearer. It is quite humorous that weaklings like that ever believed that they could complete such a tremendous task even with minuscule powers such as theirs."
I'm left thinking 'What the fuck is he on about now?' but I can't shake the feeling that he's not lying to me. After all that's happened I'm not surprised by things like this anymore.
"Okay. So if what you're saying to me is true. What does all that mean? Actually what part do I play in all of this? Who am I? Who's the Phoenix bearer? Oh another thing. This Cataclysm that you speak of. What is it?"
The Angel chuckles:" Ah so many questions, as expected but do not get too excited. There is plenty of time for that. First let me demonstrate how an inkling of your power would look should you tap into the endless light within."

The Angel all but lifts a finger and as soon as he does a barrage of weapons appear behind him. He then points them towards... me?
With the flick of a finger all the weapons get sent flying towards me. As I try to think of a way to escape I yell:" What the hell are you doing!" while all the weapons come my way. I see death arriving at my doorstep but turns out I was mistaken.
As I open my eyes again every single weapon that he has conjured has stopped, all close enough to cut me if I were to move even an inch.
I then look at the Angel who just smiles and says:" Light Bringer, you see, all these weapons are in essence a part of your light or soul if you will. As long as you have proper control over that light, you will be able to conjure up just about anything. Mind you that these weapons are just as sharp if not sharper than actual weapons. Though they are literal light they could cut through anything if you will them to. They are not without limitations however. They come at a steep price or rather a deadly condition."
I ask: "What's the condition?"
The Angel responds: "The condition would be that if you are unsure of yourself or doubt yourself even for a moment they would not move and disappear. Even worse they might very well rip your entire soul from your flesh."
I look back at him shocked:" I'm sorry, what?"
He laughs:" Yes, your very doubt could be the thing that kills you first. It is such a tragic matter but it is a risk you must be willing to take."
"So wait are you telling me that deep within yourself you have no doubt whatsoever."

The Angel just says: "That is correct." and walks off.
"So he decides to tell me that crap and just walks off huh? This place is boring. Why couldn't Shadow be here to make it fun? Shadow..."
I start thinking to myself about all the good times we had. One particular moment comes to mind. It was one time where Shadow and I saw this cute little pup by this house we were walking by.
Shadow was so enamored by the puppy that he didn't see the huge behemoth of a dog behind it. He was like:" Aw look at that cute little puppy!" but once he saw that bigger dog his reaction quickly changed to:" What the hell is that!" and then he jumped straight into my arms. Ha! What a wuss. It was too funny not to laugh at the idiot. Wow, it really sucks that he's dead now. I can't get it over my head.
I think it's at this moment where I start to realise that I don't even know how I met Shadow. It's an eerie feeling that suddenly just washed over me. It's making me uncomfortable.
"How'd I meet Shadow now again? It was... wasn't it at the... wait no it was... what the fuck! ARGH! How'd I meet him."
The Angel returns saying:" You never met him yourself. He was placed into your life."
"Woah, when'd you get here? And what's that about Shadow?"
The Angel looks upon me with a serious face:" That boy never existed until he was placed into your life.
"What?"
The Angel:" By that I mean that he was put before you. Cast into your life by an external source."
I am so confused. What does he mean. The more this guy talks the more confused I get. What does all this mean?

Rise of the Firstborn
[A participant in the Royal Road Writathon Challenge]As the inhibitor rises and the eternal flame is quenched, our lands shall be freed, and only then will the Princess be set to flee. It began with ice. A relentless, bone-chilling tickle of frost that stretched across the lands of Axulran, crawling over the mountain crests and freezing the grassy meadows. Frozen in time, the kingdom fought for political control all across the region of Ellixus, paying no mind to the death and torment they may cause along the way. Cateline Bennett, a princess consumed with ice, found herself lost in a foreign kingdom with nothing but her wits to survive. As she explores this unknown land, she unravels her past and discovers that the magic she had concealed for so long could unleash chaos so intense, it could destroy the world as she knew it. With her untapped magic and new friends, Cateline must vanquish the enemies that threatened the world of Denzethea as they knew it, else they, and all they knew, would crumble to ruin. NOTE: A review on this fiction has indicated that certain themes were traumatizing. While I believe this to be exagerated, I have added the appropriate tag for those who may be sensitive to those themes (fever dreams, delusions, and trials and tribulations).

Game Dungeon
A recently deceased man finds himself imprisoned in a prismatic gem, confused and missing pieces of his memory he wishes to play video games, but to his horror, he is stuck in a world of sword and magic. Hello! I am the writer of Game Dungeon thanks for your feedback! Although my intentions were not to insult the reader I can see how someone would think that way. I have no plans to change it as of now and it's better to put it out there as a warning that I use a lot of words with similar meanings but are used very irregularly. Honestly speaking my English teacher was weird and a lot of words I use are more complicated than they need to be, but again something I was drilled into was not reusing words apart from "I".
