《Abnormal 2》Chapter 7 Past 6

"Millie! Another challenger! " Selvi said, approaching me.
"Hm.... This is the fourth one this week, people really want this playground huh?" I replied.
I stood up from my leather chair and said, "Turn him down, they know I don't accept fights, but they just keep swarming in."
Selvi nodded in agreement, "That's true, oh right, we got $70 this week."
"Great!" I smiled, "How are the ratings so far."
" 4.57 out of 5." Selvi reported.
I bobbed my head, "Let's go out and drink something! It's been ages since we last visited the cafe."
She agreed, we've been working and discussing and the playground so often, we seem more like work partners than best friends.
I grabbed my wallet and tucked it in my pocket, "My treat today." She smiled and we marched towards our destination.
"Hot chocolate with whipped cream please." I said.
"make that two." Selvi chirped.
***************
"How are your studies?" I asked, sipping on my hot choco.
"Good, still suck at math though." She laughed.
"So hows the club? Still good?"
"Mhm, my sister's been pretty busy lately, not in a bad way, she seems really happy about it."
"Good..good....." My voice trailed off as I stared at Selvi's phone screen.
She sighed and took her phone, "And, another challenger."
"Reject~~~~~~" I said with my fingers pointed high.
"Haha, LOL." Selvi nodded and did as told.
Then another popped out.
"Another challenger? That's odd...three today...." She muttered.
"Rejection! " I said in a manly sherlock voice.
"And...another one." She mumbled.
"What? Did I hear that correctly? Another one?~~~" I said.
"Mhm, you heard that right m'am." Selvi responded with her mouth pressed to her left.

I perked up and looked around the cafe.
I spotted a group of teenage boys, chatting and whispering with all their phones up.
I looked closely to one of the boy's phone.
He tapped something on his phone and turned to look at us.
"And another one." Selvi said.
"Another record? Really? You have beaten my high scores like it's nothing! " I exclaimed, hoping Selvi would understand me and play on.
"What the......" She said softly, "O..oh! Hah, yeah, try beating that now! "
"Yeah sure, just wait for it, I'll beat you in no time! " I replied as I pulled out my phone.
I took a quick glance at the boys, they were all looking at us.
Dang, can't people just make our life as managing a playground easier?!
No can't do man.
Yeah, that was me replying stupidly to myself.
I started playing flappy pig, attempting to beat my high score just to play on the act.
When I did, I flipped my phone to the other side and showed Selvi my new high score.
"See? I did ! Beat that! " I laughed.
"Yeah sure I will."
......
Yeah, we made a very big mistake.
The boys started casting suspicious looks and glances.
Selvi told me that she had beaten my high score, but she didn't tell me how much see got.
We were very mature in the start, but got childish and soon as the third challenger popped up.
And.....
I must have said my 'reject' too loud.
"Hey, you girls, wanna join us?" One of the big boys said.
I looked at Selvi and looked back.
"Mommy said to never follow a stranger." I said.
"Yeah, we don't know you." Selvi added.
****************
"..."
"Y'all just had to." I groaned.

"We had an agreement, so do your part."
"Lips sealed, right boys?" The big boy said.
"Mhm, yeah, definitely." The others muttered together.
Yeah, they say that because they thought their gonna win, things will definitely change once I beat this guy to a pulp.
"Ok, now, formal greeting." I said.
"Alright, I , Dilian, challenge you to a duel." Dilian said in pride.
"Challenge accepted."
Selvi, who was sitting on a bench watched me from a distance.
The boys chatted in excitement, dunno what their talking about but I don't like how they're saying it.
"Take 5 steps apart." I said, turning around and taking 5 big steps.
Dilian did the same.
Selvi cleared her throat and announced, "Start! "
I turned around instantly, Dilian was already charging at me with his quirk activated.
All of a sudden, he disappeared.
I looked around and felt someone punching my body.
Invisibility? No....
Then more than ten Dilians appeared around me, surrounding me with a smirk.
.....Nerdy power activated.
With my awesome calculation and body resistance.
My conclusion!
Illusion.
He's just messing with my brain, there's only one of them in here that's real, but who...
All of their moves were the same.
The same...for raw eye to see.
Monochrome.
The surroundings and the tiny room became black and white.
All ten Dilians were freezed at the spot.
The head of....the Dilians should have a head start, unlike mirroring, all the clones would not be able to keep up with the real Dilian's movements.
So I looked at their hair, most of them are the same, but when you look closely at that very special strand of hair which all the other Dilians had at the exact same spot but one very particular Dilian doesn't.
You'll know who's real and who's fake.
"Gotcha." I muttered to myself.
I grabbed (the real) Dilian's shirt and slightly lifted him up.
I deactivated my quirk and threw him across the room, the shocked faces somehow satisfied me.
He crashed against the wall, his clones slowly disappeared.
"W..what the..." He groaned in pain.
"Just give up, I'm a leader for a reason." I said.
Selvi looked at the other boys, "You guys can forfeit for your friend."
They hesitated.
I looked back at the boys for an answer.
No? Just how desperate are these kids? (Well, not kids but you get what I mean )
I was going to talk another step before I felt something blowing towards me.
Attacking behind someone's back....how cowardy, you call yourself a teenager?
Maybe their going through puberty!
Yeah, that must be it.
I tilted my head to the left and easily dodged the attack.
Before he can take back his arm, I gripped tightly onto it and threw him on the ground.
"Hey kid, I'm going easy on you, do you not understand?" I asked, questioning his existence (Yeah, no)
He struggled below my foot, attempting to break out of my grip.
"Hey you other kids! Just forfeit already! My hot chocolate is waiting for me! "I yelled, loud enough for them to hear me.
They bit their lips and exchanged looks.
What you boys gonna do now?

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.
