《I, the last black dragon, 6 year old. (TOME 1 of the TIAMAT'S WARS SERIE)》Back to Wildlife

I was staying in the back of the guild and everyone knew me in the city and I had peace.
I used to go on a transport mission most of the time and often had a feast on my way back from dessert. I hunted and the butcher showed me how to empty and prepare the game well to keep only the best pieces.
I had a small bag with me that contained a large wok, salt and spices and a few ropes.
I wanted to build a new lair and the guild showed me on the map a quiet, rocky and difficult place where I could settle in without hindering trade or frightening those who didn't know me.
I had to wear a loincloth also by decency like lizard men and wear a guild medal so that people would recognize me.
So I found a rocky spur with a small stream in the lower part and bought from the blacksmith enough to make a gate to close the entrance and a gate to roast my prey, a rack and a cauldron for my vegetables because I was crazy about soup and broth! I also had a smoking room.
Then I spent my time making pottery and toys. Robots, soldiers, dice, little castles and then I started making santons: I liked to reproduce the different trades of the city and my sharp claws allowed me to have a certain detail.
Life here was peaceful and calm.
Exactly what I was looking for.
I wasn't afraid of thieves and besides I didn't have any treasure.
Once a group of "Dragon Killers" dared to come and I caught them but before releasing them I told them, go see! My only wealth is the clay I make.
Seeing no trace of treasure I was quickly a useless and dangerous target for nothing.
Near the river, there was a lake and I loved going swimming and sunbathing. I always chose a place where it would be difficult to be surprised and attacked.
I went to pray at the temple once a week with the inhabitants and little by little, people got used to me, but I didn't forget anything about their cruelty. I was making buddy-buddy but the spear in my belly, my paw and arrows, blindness and blows and chains came to my mind all the time, in waves.

I had nightmares about it all the time. Often at night I was heard roaring from my den and was asked, when I started to speak common, why I screamed at night.
2 months went by and I slowly calmed down.
The air was soft and good, full of floral and pollen scents.
Abundant game, a generous land.
I only killed to eat and I didn't bother other species. The animals of this world opened up to me very slowly and began to talk to me.
But I learned from them that the worst enemy of the black dragons had come to the valley. She was supposed to repel the forces of evil and watch over the fantastic beings: A unicorn!
Pivert: "Ivan, Ivan, I saw her this morning near the stream, she blesses the trees and springs. She's getting closer to your den. How kind of you, we warned you!"
Me: "Woody? Is a unicorn nice?"
"Yes, but she kills black dragons, watch out!"
From time to time, I had visitors, friends who wanted to go for a ride on my back, children of my age!
We had a lot of rope and I helped them build a cabin.
Victor? "How high do you want the floor?"
Myriam: "No, this one is better near the stream, we can put a swing and hooks on the branch!
Victor: "Yes, great idea!"
Then I cut the branches of the tree and planted with my claws pins to hold the boards, and I passed the woods to them that I had reduced to boards with my sharp claws.
I stood up on my hind legs and came to the top of the tree.
I leaned and the children climbed up by my back. It tickled but I had fun
Then I tinkered with toys with them and a cranked cable car and lots of games were built.
The one who was all the rage was power 4 and went through the wall.
But Myriam, it was the duck fishing she loved.
We laughed a lot and the children often camped with me.

They also invited their friends and mud cakes and hand and leg casts were made.
Once, I got a little scolded because it was completely full of mud and paint. Erza tells me that I was hanging around here a little too long and that I was needed at the guild.
I agreed to work but I had fun like that and the guild cakes were delicious and, in fact, we pretended to do a job but we needed my breath in the summer to make ice cubes and ice creams....
The following weekend, I was waiting for my friends and we did a big game of hide and seek.
I cheated a little by changing the color of my scales to blend into the greenery.
And I saw my hidden friends. With my sense of smell, it was unfair but that was the game!
But an unexpected player joined the game: The Unicorn!
Seeing me looking for the children she attacked me from behind and by surprise!
His horn shone and cast a spell of dissipation of the evil. Then she rushed to sting me with her horn.
"Ehh????" Why are you attacking me?
"Found," Victor told me, "and He was going to receive the unicorn's horn, but I shielded myself with my body and she planted my grave shoulder."
Justin, Victor and Myriam took some woods and threatened the unicorn. "Go away, you dirty beast! Don't hurt our friend Ivan"
The unicorn was completely lost to see children defending a dragon.
She got angry and wanted to attack me and I shouted, "Quick, on my back" and the children climbed on me and I ran away with the unicorn.
I had a hole that was bleeding but I took the children to the guild for shelter and cured myself there!
I didn't want to kill a unicorn either. But she was bothering me to stick around.
Finally, after I had healed myself, I returned to my lair with vegetables that I had exchanged for game.
I decided to make myself an excellent soup with green peas and sweet and pear leaves in pieces.
Mhhh, a treat.
The soup smelled very good and attracted the unicorn.
"Very clever, Ténébrion... to lure me here with the scent of vegetables. You're really awesome and getting me mugged by children you've charmed, you're a real unicorn killer..."
"Huh??? Who are you? Who are you? And why did you attack me, I didn't do anything to you!"
"Hah, my poor Ténébrion, aren't you going to believe that I came alone? We found your trail and now you're going to pay...
You are priceless, you hunt the children, you steal from the city and you threaten and extort them to make traps to exterminate us but this time we hold you! I have with me the king of the forest and fairies who came especially for you!"
"Madam, unicorn, you are very beautiful and this is the first time I have seen a unicorn.
My name is Ivan and I come from Earth, the world without magic."
"HAHAHAHAHA, when you're stuck, you play amnesiac..." shouted a druidess. I recognize you, Ténébrion, Duke of the Demon Lord! Black Calamity!
Roots attacked me and I was entangled!
I blew the cold and the roots fell to dust.
I protected myself with a shield spell and ice thorns surrounded me to protect me from the unicorn. Her assault was broken and she had to move back.
I froze the Druid's feet and flew away, fleeing towards the city.
I take refuge and hide in the guild but soldiers arrive and surround the building:
"In the name of the king, we come to stop the dragon dead or alive saying "Ténébrion!"

Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. 8 245Cry of the Mer
Katherine Waters has several goals on her list. Graduate high school, get accepted into an advanced photography course, add another ten meters to her personal free-diving and deep-water diving records respectively. Waking up in the stark, sterile environment of an underground lab, part of a secret and illegal experiment definitely didn't make the list. Nor did discovering not only were mermaids not the stories of legends people thought they were, but advanced genetic manipulation had slotted her for an extreme physical transformation. Faced with an unknown future in captivity, forced to adjust to a new body and lifestyle completely alien to her, with only a psychologically damaged young Mer for company, Katie's life has taken a dramatic turn and she'd do anything to escape it, return home, and regain any sense of the normalcy she lost the moment she opened her eyes.
8 227Stonenanny
