"Ah, so your aren't a frail little girl are you 'sis'" her 'brother' said with a grin Lesha growled "You haven't seen what I'm capable of yet" Lesha rose up from the ground and swung her bat hard. Her 'brother' stepped back and grinned as he threw a punch instead of dodging, Lesha took the hit which allowed her to get in close and she swung her bat and she was able to hit her 'brother' in the side. Her 'brother' limped to the side but he didn't go down, he rubbed his side and stared Lesha down.
Lesha smirked, she motioned for him to bring it like in a kung fu movie, he obliged her, he rushed at her and threw a slow punch Lesha was about to do the same thing she did earlier but this time she was caught off gaurd when he brothers leg came right from out of the ground. The bottom of his foot connected with her stomach and she wheezed, Lesha held her midsection but didn't go down, "So you do know how to fight" she joked, her 'brother' grinned "Make your jokes while you can" he rushed at Lesha. Lesha dodged a one, two, combination and swung her bat.
It connected with a thud into her 'brothers' midsection and sent him flying back, straight towards me, he landed at my feet and quickly rose up he was about to rush back at Lesha but that's when he realized that I was behind him. I started to sweat as a sinister smile crept across his face, "Hey there dude" he grinned believe me, I wanted to run but my legs were cemented to the ground. He ended up grabbing me, putting me in a choke hold and threw me in front of him Lesha had started running up on him when she saw him grab me but, when he pulled out a 9mm from his waist and put the muzzle to my head.
Lesha stopped in her tracks, her 'brother' smirked, "Good girl" he chuckled Lesha sighed, she glared at me I gave her the most sorryful apologetic look I could muster. "Damn you" she cursed at both me and her 'brother' "Well, I just had the thought that this guy must be something special if you brought him with you" he snickered, "And I guess I was right, what is he? Your boyfriend or something?". "Hell no!" Lesha shouted, "Oh, then why in the hell is he here then?" he asked "None of your damn business that's why!" she shouted Lesha was about to run forward but then the gun clicked, my heart started to pound, he had his finger on the trigger.

Lesha stopped once more, she bit her lip in anger, "He must be important somehow otherwise, you'd have already bashed my head in now, if you don't do as I say,I'm gonna blow this dudes brains on the concret" he smiled devilishly Lesha growled in her throat, she looked at me, she looked like she was thinking about the situation. I started praying, I was begging and pleading to anything that would answer my prayers, that I wasn't about to die, Lesha sighed with a disgusted look on her face "Fine" she huffed her 'brother' smirked "Good girl now, toss that little toy to the side" he gestured to the bat she still had gripped tightly in her hand.
She was hesitant but, when her 'brother' made a point he wasn't messing around by pusing the point of the gun into the side of my head and acting like he was going to pull harder on the trigger she grumbled nefore tossing the bat to the ground. "Good, now kick it away from you" he demanded Lesha took in a small breath and begrudgingly kicked her bat away from her it rolled off far from her reach. "Good" he laughed, he then took the gun away from my head and pointed it at Lesha with a smirk "Now, get on your knees" he demanded Lesha complied, she got on her knees and her 'brother' chuckled "Bye bye 'sis'" he grinned.
It was then I realized my oppritunity, wit h his focus on Lesha his grip on me had loosened, I quickly slipped out of his chokehold and knocked him back with a half-assed roundhouse kick which also knocked the gun out of his hand he cursed. He went for the gun, Lesha eyed her bat and ran for it, me, I eyed Lesha's black duffle bag and it was close, I dove for it and grabbed it and opened it I grabbed the first thing that I saw and pulled it out. I yelled at Lesha and she stopped and looked at me and saw what I had in my hand she smiled, I shouted at her to catch and threw what I had pulled out to her.

Lesha ran forward and caught ot, she smiled, "Good choice" she winked, she then unsheathed a katana and threw the sheath to the ground and ran at her 'brother' who had just got to his gun and picked it up he made the mistake and turned to me pointing the gun at me. He had no idea that Lesha was on the move and armed until she shouted "Hey forget someone!" he looked at her and before he could point the gun at her Lesha was already on him she had the katana raised and quickly brought it down. The blade sliced through his harm which he held the gun and it fell to the ground witha wet plop, blood gushed out from his stump arm Lesha's 'brother' went to his knees and cried out as he looked at his cleaved off arm.
Lesha didn't stop there, she quickly swung down "No wait!" her 'brother' shouted which was the last thing he said before Lesha lopped his head off, his body slumped to the side, blood gushed out from his neck and arm I felt a sick feeling in my stomach so I looked away Lesha took a calming breath. She walked over to were she had thrown the katana sheath and picked it up and sheated it she also went and picked up her bat she walked passed me and put them both back into her duffle bag she then looked over at the gun that was still in his severed arms hand.
She took it out his hand and walked back to her duffle bag and put it in and zipped the bag closed she then stood silent I swallowed, Lesha spun around and slapped me hard "That's what you get for being stupid" I touched my stinging red cheek, "Now come on lets get out of here" she turned and picked up her duffle bag and starpped it over her shoulder. She walked off and I fallowed silently behind her we said nothing to each other the whole way to the exit of the mall I thought that our time together was over I was about to walk over to my bike until Lesha grabbed me "Look, if your actually going to help me, your going to need to be alot more useful then you were back there I dob't want to die if another one of my brothers or sisters gets a hold of your ass".
Lesha was right, I didn't want another gun pointed at my head, I asked her what she wanted me to do, "Go to the gym, learn to fight, and grow a pair" she smiled I felt ashamed, "Bye, see you tommorow" she walked off I sighed, I had to do this again tommorow. I sighed again and walked over to where my bike should have been but all that was there was the chain which was cut, I cursed, guess I was walking home.

Magic. Math. Not a whole lot of context. Two months ago, I was a wormhole navigator, ripping open a hole in the universe to save a ship of people who only vaguely tolerated me. Two weeks ago, long story short, I threaded an impossible path through the void between dimensions to crash-land into a dungeon. You know the kind: monsters to defeat, corridors full of traps to avoid, and magical powers to earn. I'm not ashamed to admit that it's been two weeks of loneliness, fear, adrenaline, and constant injury. But I'll make it out of here by myself if I have to, or my name isn't Adam Leviathan James. ... too bad the Levi doesn't stand for Leviathan, huh. AN: Expectations should include in medias res, violence, smut, friendship, and powers/progression systems with absolutely an insufficiency of context and (at least at first) no definitions or explanations, and magic-as-programming/engineering (with something of an emphasis on "what if magical runework were an analogue to circuit diagrams"). This story used to be called "Yet Another Godsforsaken Isekai". Discord server: https://discord.gg/dHh3XMMB4T Cover by the amazing Daedalus of The Way Ahead.
