《A New Dynasty (One Piece)》Chapter 8

"Why are you doing this?" Konan asked as she saw Madara arrive on the ship with Nami. She had been watching over him and seen what happened.
Nami also wanted to know why this was happening and looked at him curiously. In the short moment she had realized he wasn't intending to kill them so her heart calmed down but she was still worried about being imprisoned.
"I like fighting and I like people with potential. So I am doing what I like. I have no intentions of torturing them or breaking them." Madara replied with a small smile on his face as he landed on the flying ship.
Nami was now inside a cage made of steel behind him that was enforced by his powers, meaning she couldn't break it no matter how she tried with her current power.
It was a unique experience itself as he would usually use other people's weakness in a cruel manner but here he was being very gentle. He only used Nami so that her friends would actually fight him seriously as people like them can't fight seriously without a good reason.
Hearing his words, Nami's mind operated in high drive and she understood why she was captured.
'Damn, it feels so annoying being used as bait.' Nami thought and sat down with most of her fear gone.
Konan looked at Nami and she couldn't see a thing that could make her special. But she didn't say anything since Madara was her senior and someone who had an eye for talent.
He had chosen Nagato when the boy hadn't even shown his talent.
With that she decided to watch what he was doing as he had already done something that impressed upon her his skills.
She could see that he wasn't just a demon without a heart. He was also a human that could show positive emotions and he could also press down his pride.
Konan had never imagined Madara could interact with lower beings. She had always imagined him calling them lower beings and stepping on them.
It was a surprise to see him dance to their pleasure and even dance with them.
It showed her how the legends had blinded her to the fact that Madara used to be a good person. He showed her how to operate without using fear, without causing a massacre. Living in the darkness had also corrupted her, even if she was still better than most of her colleagues and didn't look down on others.
Madara didn't say anything more as he sat atop the railing on the deck of the ship as he looked down on the island below him.
The Maxim was really a unique creation as it wasn't just a vehicle but a weapon. He had learned how to utilize it from the trash that built it.
Even though lightning wasn't Madara's main element, he knew how to use all elements. He had especially learned how to use all the elements after the battle was Hashirama and even learned Sage mode by the end of his life to recreate the legend of the Sage.

It hadn't worked but it had helped him clear the power difference with Hashirama. He wasn't as good as Hashirama and it took time.
It was hard to maintain but it was worth it. The Sage mode gave him a 15 times boost and it let his Susanoo reach the power Hashirama's 1000 hand golem.
Now he was revived to the prime of his life. He was young again. He had his EMS. He had his Rinnegan and he had his sage mode.
His chakra wasn't at the levels of Hashirama or Naruto Uzumaki but it was more than enough to use all his powers.
He wasn't anywhere near the power of the Juubi but it could be reached with time now that he had seen the light.
The Six Paths Sage mode was also a sage mode, a superior version so it could be achieved now that he knew how it worked.
Power wasn't everything but Madara wouldn't let himself stagnate, it didn't suit him.
Entering Sage mode for the first time in a long time naturally instead of using Hashirama's powers, Madara looked for his target. He tried to look for the fruit that should have appeared after the death of Enel.
His range was greater than the whole island, which was quite small in size. It didn't take him long as he felt something familiar and he flew from the railing, appearing instantly inside the forest where the Lightning fruit lay.
It gave him a similar feeling to the Shinju. Looking at it reminded him of the chakra fruit of legends.
'I see, this world also got some visitors from afar.' Madara concluded that the Otsutsuki had visited this planet as well.
The fruit gave him the feeling and the words of the Sage confirmed his suspicion. The visitor was most likely waiting for something.
They might be using others to grow the powers of the fruits. He had used Nagato to fully awaken the power of Rinnegan by using it in his stead since it had awakened in old age for him.
They could be using the fruits in a similar manner and with the death of the user the fruit might be growing in power as it devoured the soul of the previous user.
It was only a theory but Madara kept it in mind as he stored the fruit and returned back to the Maxim where his guests had arrived, and they weren't looking very friendly at the moment seeing Nami inside a cage.
Madara had left a genjutsu for them that affected them through Nami, so when they looked at her they saw her in a bloody shape.
You can't enjoy a fun fight if the opponent doesn't feel the weight of the battle. They needed to feel the danger or it would only be a spar.
Looking at her bleeding form and scared look, the Straw hats were enraged.

"You will pay for this." Luffy growled as his eyes were aflame with rage. He wasn't someone that got angry for himself but his friends and loved ones were another thing. Nothing was allowed to bring harm to them.
He wasn't the only one as even Sanji, Zoro and Usopp were angry. The most surprising was that Chopper was also angry at the scene.
The only one looking calmly at the situation was Robin. She took in the situation and it wasn't hard to tell that their enemy was too powerful for them to fight.
He was relaxed and the feeling he gave off was suffocating.
Unlike the kids, she had actually met monsters in this world. Robin felt Madara give off a similar feeling to the admirals.
It scared her and her body shook in fear as she was reminded of the trauma of that day.
"Don't blame me children, it is her punishment for stealing from others. And if you want her to get out safely than here I am. Come at me and let us dance to the tune." Madara smiled as he looked at them and he cancelled his Sage mode.
His expression and words only angered them as it showed them that he took his actions lightly. He considered the harm done to their friend a game, not an actual punishment.
The situation confused Nami who tried telling them the situation but realized that something was wrong.
'He used something to show us what was happening at the front. He made my body move at his command.' Nami calmly thought about everything that took place and realized that he was manipulating their minds into thinking something very negative.
She didn't know what they were seeing but it was definitely affective in making them angry. It was terrifying. The fact that he could violate their minds, sent shivers down her spine.
She was only grateful for the fact that man wasn't interested in harming them.
He was definitely good looking enough to catch her interest and he had that rich feeling, but his actions definitely made her think twice about approaching him again.
With Madara's words as the start of the game, Robin unconsciously stepped back and used her powers to hold him back while Luffy launched his fist at him.
Zoro dashed forwards with his blade, aiming for Madara's mid section while Sanji went for the head.
Madara saw everything in slow motion and decided to shut down his EMS. The Rinnegan showed but without chakra flowing through his eyes, it was also turned off.
Even without the eyes, Madara was too strong for anyone on the Island. They were little children in front of him.
Easily flowing through their attacks, Madara kicked Zoro in the face as he arrived first and pushed against his face to kick Sanji in the side.
Sending both of them flying, Madara slapped aside Usopp's explosive and blew out small fire balls at them.
Robin's arms weren't powerful enough to block him as he easily went through them.
Dodging the fireballs also proved to be impossible as they moved too fast and were under Madara's control.
Luffy, Robin and Usopp got hit by them, and the explosion sent them crashing into the railing with varying degrees of burns on their body.
Usopp had it worst as he was the weakest among them.
Madara let Chopper stand at the back to provide support to his friends while the child also didn't charge into the battle.
Landing on the floor, Madara ducked as Zoro went for his upper body again and sweeped him. Kicking him in the chest, Madara caught Luffy's arm and pulled him.
Pulling him, Madara used the rubber man as a weapon and hit Sanji. Both young men hit each other and were sent flying but Robin caught them before they plunged down from the flying ship.
It was pretty much a one sided battle, even worse than Enel. Enel was stronger than all of them combined.
But Madara didn't mind as he saw potential in all of them. Usopp had such a weak body but he had somehow actually aimed at him.
Sanji and Zoro's body had somehow hardened up a little bit when he hit them. His kick wasn't full power but it would have fractured their bones on impact.
They survived the impact without a fracture.
Luffy was the strongest among them and showed the qualities of both Usopp and the other boys when the fireball hit him.
All of them were trained in a way but lacked complete knowledge and efficient training. They didn't know about the things that Enel could use.
Both the qualities he saw were like his Sage mode, one made the body more durable and the other one gave the user precognition abilities along with sensing abilities.
Going through Enel's memories, Madara knew how to use and train the Observation Haki. Enel wasn't knowledgeable on the subject more than that but Madara found from Gan Fall about the Armament Haki and Conquerors haki.
It was an interesting power found in this world and it brought up expectations about future battles. In this small exchange where he went for bone breaking attacks he saw glimpses of these Haki in these kids.
Nami also showed it by following his body when she was a statue compared to him.
Madara looked at them and smiled, "Come on kids, your friend is going to suffer if you play around."
