《The Royal Mates》Chapter Thirty-Two

~Serge~
Maverick was standing there with his worthless rouge army. He tried to get to my mate before, I won't let that happen again.
"Maverick," Mordikai stated.
"Ah, if it isn't Prince Mordikai. And, King Serge. What a pleasure." He smiled maniacally. He was trying to get under our skin.
"What do you want. You are trespassing on my land. You have no right being here." Mordikai seemed pissed. This might actually be fun.
"I only came for something that got away from me a while back." He smirked. My blood began to boil.
"You aren't getting them." My fangs had come out. I could easily kill this prick.
"Ah ah ah, we don't want to fight now, do we?" He was stalling... But for what reason?
"You're stalling. What did you do?" Mordikai looked like he was ready to shift.
"Nothing..." He sniffed the air and his eyes became black.
"Someone's mate has started her heat... Hasn't she?" His fangs then came out and he started to drool. It was disgusting in all honesty. His eyes then became this red color, showing he was going to attack, or he got what he came for.
"You aren't getting her!" Mordikai shifted and attacked Maverick. Everyone was on a rampage. The other royals came out to help with the fight. I was worried but I still fought anyway. I killed as many rouges as I could, sadly having to kill off my own kind as they fought against their King. I hissed at them, trying to get them to get out of their trance-like state of wanting to kill me. Some shook their heads and realized what had happened, and promised to tell me everything later, and fought with us. Others were too far gone, and I had no choice but to kill them. They had consumed too much blood, and it wasn't from animals. When vampires are fed nothing but human and or magical being's blood, we go insane. It's all we want in the world, and we would kill anyone who got in our way.
I would run up behind rouge wolves and snap their necks, and biting them and allowing my venom to travel through their system. The venom is supposed to turn them into a vampire. But since they are already werewolves, it could either kill them or turn them into a halfbreed. However, most usually end up dead. You're lucky if you turn into a halfbreed. You get to live forever, and still get to turn into a wolf. But you need blood in order to survive as well as other foods.
I heard a roar come from behind me and turned around just in time to block myself from the oncoming rouge. He had foam dripping from his mouth.
He had rabies.
"You're going to be tough, nut case." He roared and came at me. I grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and threw him onto his back. He whimpered but nonetheless got back up. He tried to bite my arm but I used my shield and he bounced right off. When he stood back up his nose looked crooked. He had broken it trying to ram through my shield. He tried again but I jumped into the tree and he fell and rolled around until he hit a nearby tree. That's going to be at least a broken rib. While he was down, I took a look at the battlefield and saw that none of the royals died. It was all rouges. Yeah, we were injured, and one or two were being taken to an infirmary, but we haven't died yet. Maverick came with a small army of five hundred rouges. He's now down to one hundred. Maverick came running down the palace stairs in his wolf form and howled. His army looks up and howled back. I started to get a bad feeling about this and came down from the tree. I went over to the rabid wolf and broke his neck. His eyes looked like he was relieved.

"Good boy." I pat his head twice and went over to Mordikai.
"He did something. I don't know what but-" I heard the scream. It was Amorelli's. Another man was trying to touch her during her heat. Only the touch of her mate can soothe her. Any other touch and it's unbearable pain. It's to help keep out-of-line mates in-line. Mordikai roared angrily and ran towards Amorelli's room.
"If he has Amorelli he has Zinniah too!" That was all it took for me to run back to that storage closet.
"Zinniah. Open the door now." When she did, a warlock had a knife to her throat. My fangs had emerged once more and I was about to attack him.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He drank something and it turned him into me.
"Now, we don't want to kill the wrong one, now do we..." He chuckled. Zinniah was crying.
"He tricked you into opening the door, didn't he?" She just closed her eyes tighter and started crying harder. This wasn't her fault. He somehow made a potion to make him turn into me for God knows how long. The royal guards then came in and he quickly removed Zinniah from his arms and went to fight me. He purposely flipped us around several times in order to confuse everyone. When we stood people gasped.
"What's going on here?"
"I'm Serge! I came up to see if Zinniah was alright, but this Warlock was behind her and he drank a potion to look like me!" The imposter was pointing at me and I grew furious.
"Zinniah is my mate. I'm the real Serge! He's the Warlock!" The guards were confused. Then Daniel came up and saw the situation.
"Shit." He looked at the two of us and sighed sadly.
"Whichever one is the right person... You know how this has to end..." Daniel looked like he was going to shed a tear. I shook my head. No, I just now found her. I can't lose her.
"I just found her... I can't lose her, you know this!" I begged him. I didn't want to say his name and exploit his identity to the Warlock.
"I don't want the real Serge to die. If you can prove who is who then be my guest. I don't want my friend to die."
"Daniel, I'm telling you he is the imposter!" The Warlock already knew his name. I looked at him and became furious. I looked at Zinniah and she looked skeptical. It was like she didn't believe the Warlock.
"I don't think that he's the- No!" I was shot in the chest with a wooden bullet. The Warlock let out a deep breath. The guards were looking for me to transform back into the Warlock. But that didn't happen. I looked at Zinniah and let out a tear.
"I love you, my cherry blossom." I fell to the ground and my eyes started to close and Daniel came running up to me. He removed the bullet using his powers; he could remove any object from another.
"Serge!" She cried and ran up to me. Daniel put pressure on the wound and was screaming something. I couldn't quite hear him.
"Ser... What were you... He's dy-... Medic!" Everything was going dark. I heard something like a door slam and a body drop.
"Serg... Please don't leave..." Zinniah was talking to me now. I exhaled and I couldn't see anything. I started to remember everything in my life. It was coming up in pictures. The women that disgusted me the moment I turned. My mother who I couldn't save, my brother who turned against me, and my beautiful sister who went missing when we were eight. I felt a tear slide down my cheek. I didn't make any good choices when I was younger. Hell, I still don't make good decisions.

I couldn't protect Zinniah. My eyes were a mess of opening and closing. They opened to Zinniah leaning over me. Closed. Opened to see bright, white lights. Closed. I felt myself being placed on a bed, and then everything went completely black. And it feels like I'm falling asleep...
~Amorelli~
I was pacing around the room, waiting for Mordikai to come back. My heat was starting to act up again, but it was nowhere near as bad as before. However, I feel like if he doesn't come back soon it will get worse. I was starting to breathe heavy and sweat uncontrollably. Is this what it would really be like without Mordikai? No one else would be able to help me, and if they tried to then it would hurt. I heard a knock on the door and turned around. I got scared so I waited for the person to talk.
"Amorelli? Baby open up it's me." It was Mordikai. Oh, thank god! I unlocked the door and there he was, but something was off. I wasn't getting that fluttery feeling when I looked at him.
"Mordikai? What are you doing here? Is the battle still going on?" He walked in and locked the door. My heart was starting to race, and not in a good way.
"I needed to make sure you were okay. I'm about to go back out there now though." I nodded but kept my distance. He didn't even look dirty or have any blood on him whatsoever.
"Why aren't you dirty then?"
"You know how I am, always wanting to be clean." He smiled his pearly whites. Something was definitely off.
"Mordikai... Are you not telling me something?" He started to slowly walk towards me. I was walking backward and almost tripped on a shoe.
"Why would something be wrong? I'm fine, aren't I?" He patted himself down and nothing happened. I looked into his eyes and saw a twinkle. His beautiful dark blue eyes still looked amazing.
Until they flashed green.
I sighed and tried to keep calm. This wasn't Mordikai. It must be someone who consumed something to look and sound like him.
"I guess not..." He smiled and tried to hold me. He touched my skin and it took everything in me not to scream in pain. I tried to think of something to get me out of this situation.
"Hey, Mordikai? After this can we go swimming somewhere? You and I haven't done that yet and you promised me a few days ago we'd be able to go somewhere warm and swim since I'm not home in Puerto Rico." I crossed my arms and made it look convincing. He sighed and nodded.
"Of course." He smiled and touched my arm. I shivered to make it seem like I got tingles.
"Mordikai?"
"Yes, darling?" Ugh, he's never called me darling. Disgusting.
"What are we going to do if the rouges get into the castle? I'm still on my heat..." I rubbed the back of my neck and truly became nervous. I can't let this stranger do anything to me.
"Don't worry darling, everything will be alright." He hugged and all I felt was excruciating pain. I started to shake.
"Darling? What's wrong?"
"I'm just in a lot of pain. My heat really hurts..." I groaned in pain and got away from him. This helped a lot as most of that pain died down.
"Darling I'm sorry... Let me help you." I froze. I shushed him and listened.
"You didn't hear that?" I pretended to look terrified.
"What?" He looked around and looked out the door. Now's my chance.
"Mordikai help me! Someone is in my room! He's trying to touch me!" It felt like that message didn't go through. Maybe I should try again? He looked back at me and I looked around scared. Hoping someone would make noise in the castle.
"Did you do something?" I looked confused.
"What? What could I have done?"
"You messaged him, didn't you?"
"Who? Mordikai you're right here in front of me..." I made it out so that I was oblivious. He looked worried, knowing he probably got busted.
"You're right, sorry darling I'm just paranoid." He rubbed his neck and hugged me. I felt his calloused fingers and tried hard not to cringe. Mordikai's hands weren't like that at all. I let a tear slide down my face from the pain, and sadly it landed on his shirt.
"Darling? You're crying. What's wrong?" He rubbed my shoulders. He knows damn well that it hurts me. I started to cry more.
"Amorelli. What's wrong?" He gripped my shoulders tight with his fingernails.
"Ah!" I fell to my knees, not being able to stand.
"This will all be over soon, Amorelli."
"I knew from the second you walked in that you weren't my mate." I sprayed boiling water on him and he screamed in pain and backed away from me. The black hair turned gray, and his face became wrinkled. Whatever he had, it was fading. His eyes turned green and he scowled at me through the water. I screamed as loud as I could, hoping someone would come to my rescue. In a second Mordikai was at the door, furious.
"Amorelli get away from him!" He didn't have to tell me twice. I ran behind the real Mordikai where I felt sparks and sighed softly. Finally, something that isn't painful.
"Who are you!" Mordikai was furious. He was enraged and I wanted this man dead just as much as he does.
"That's not important. What's important is that we will find them again. We will take them with us. We will be back." And with that, he threw down powder and vanished. The whole room filled with the powder's smoke and everyone was coughing. Mordikai took me and ran right out the door.
"I want to find out who did all of this! We have the other one captured. I will torture him myself if he doesn't give me the information that I want!" I stepped back. I wanted to see what he would do next. He punched a wall and roared. This side of him was terrifying. I haven't seen it since I first came here...
"Mordikai?" He roared in my face.
"It's Alpha to you!" His eyes were darker than black. I gasped.
"I thought you loved me..."
"Let's get one thing clear." This voice was completely different than Mordikai's and Comrades... Does he have another thing inside him that I don't know about?
"I am your King. You may be my mate, but I will always outrank you. I don't care how much love Mordikai or Comrade showed you. I am your master. Do I make myself clear?" He wasn't even screaming at this point. He was quiet but you could hear his anger.
"Yes..." I let a tear slide and he growled and walked away. Diesel came to me and was about to rub my back in comfort but remembered I was still in heat. He sighed and guided me to a guest room.
"This room is for the future Luna... I know I can't help you with your heat, but if it starts to get bad, lock the door and get into the tub and fill it with cold water. It will cool your rising temperature... I wouldn't be around him for a while... I'm so sorry you had to see that part of him..." He looked genuinely upset.
"Will you and Zinniah help me get my clothes from his room please?" He nodded and we walked back to his room. I'm just grateful it wasn't in the same hallway as his old room. The guest bedroom I was in was like a duplicate of Mordikai's, so I didn't have to worry about not knowing where everything was. I went to Zinniah's room but he stopped me.
"I was just informed that Zinniah is with her mate. There were two Warlocks. One pretending to be Mordikai, and the other pretending to be Serge. Unfortunately, the guards that were trying to figure out who was who, didn't care which one they shot and hit the real Serge in the heart with a wooden bullet." I gasped. I'll have to see her soon.
"Wood? Why would they have wood inside their guns?"
"It helps take down Vampires."
"Yet they shot the real Serge like they were being told which one was the Warlock? They just so happened to have it ready inside their guns?" He grew stiff and looked like he could kill.
"I will have Mordikai's mother help you. I'll be back." Moments later, Alyx was there with me. I started to cry and she rubbed my back soothingly.
"Amorelli, what did he do to you?"
"I don't know... Mordikai, he sounded so angry... It didn't even sound like him like something else was inside him besides Comrade." I continued to cry. We went into his room so I could change into something better. When I took off my clothes I became frightened by the sight in front of me.
"Amorelli, who touched you?"
"That Warlock that was in my room..." I continued to cry as I looked at the burns covering my body. That's why it hurts so much. The touch of another burns you, that's what's supposed to keep you in line when you meet your mate. I got dressed in shorts and a t-shirt as Alyx handed me a bag to put my regular clothes in and had a few servants to help with the dresses that shouldn't be folded. A man came to the door and took the bag of clothes. I then was handed a small bag for my make-up, bath, and hair products. A few minutes later we were walking out of Mordikai's room into the future Luna suite. They helped me get sorted by putting things away. When they were done I thanked all of them and sat in the middle of the bed. Alyx joined me on the bed.
"Amorelli? Would you like to go home?" That was probably the best idea I've heard all day.
"If he doesn't change the next time I see him... Then yes. He said that he will always outrank me... Alyx what happened to him?"
"His inner wolf came out. There's Mordikai, his human side. Then Comrade, his wolf. But then there's a pure inner wolf that never comes out except for times of pure and utter rage... He must have come out when the Warlocks were here. However, he was enraged when he saw that one of the Warlocks had touched you. Usually, when the inner wolf is out, he stays out for a while... The shortest amount of time where an inner wolf had emerged and didn't subside was a week. I would be very careful. If you leave, he definitely isn't leaving, but I will do anything to help you. You're family." I hugged her as she said that.
"Does his inner wolf have a name?" She sighed.
"Yes, he does. However, since he is an Alpha and soon-to-be King, Mordikai's inner wolf is much more powerful than most of the guards combined. But they are all given names... They just prefer that they are called Alpha, King, or master."
"What is his name?" I asked again. I need to know if I can use this to my advantage.
"Alistair." I sighed and shivered. Damn it, even his inner wolf's name is sexy.
"What was Carlisle's inner wolf's name?"
"Bob." I busted out laughing, as did she.
"Are you serious?" We continued to laugh for a few minutes before we calmed down.
"No, I'm just joking. I just wanted to make you laugh. Carlisle's inner wolf's name is Darren." I nodded and she shivered at the sound.
"You still love him, don't you?" She looked down sadly and nodded.
"He's my mate... My wolf still yearns for his. She doesn't understand why I left him. Every day, I can feel myself breaking for what I've done. I just couldn't let him hurt you or Zinniah or even Mordikai. He's already destroyed my little boy. I couldn't let him hurt Samara if she ever came back. She is my baby..." She shed a few tears but I wiped them away.
"We'll find her. I promise." I heard a roar from Mordikai's room and I froze.
"Alyx, I have one last question for you."
"What is it dear?" She rubbed my back as I heard the thunderous footsteps getting closer to my new room.
"Will he kill me?" I looked her in the eyes and she looked shocked, yet frightened herself.
"I don't know... He will try and dominate you. Just be careful, please." She hugged me and left the room quickly. I started to pace. I closed all the drawers and the closet before Alistair came inside. He pounded on the door and I squealed. I quickly went to the door and opened it.
"What do you think you are doing?" He roared at me and I screamed. This isn't the man I fell in love with.
"I was moved into this room..."
"Without my permission? You are my mate. Therefore, you stay in my room."
"Alistair I am not an object. Yes, we are mates but you are scaring me!" He froze when I said his name. He even shivered a little. The growl he made sounded like one of satisfaction.
"You know my name?" He walked in and slammed the door shut, nearly breaking it in the process. I gasped when I saw the cracks in the door.
"Yes. Queen Alyx told me it." He growled again, but it was more of a seductive growl. What was going on?
"You need permission to use my name, mate."
"And my name is Amorelli. I know you know that, so why continue to call me mate?" He growled and had me cornered against a wall.
"I will use your name when I feel like it, mate." His eyes were beyond black. They looked endless when I stared at them. I felt butterflies in my stomach. What is happening to me? Why does Alistair have the same effect on me as Mordikai and Comrade do?
"Because I am still your mate. Any side of the person's mate has an effect on the other." He tucked my hair behind my ear. However, the soft gesture didn't last long. He then gripped my hair and pulled it back, hard. I whimpered in pain and he seemed to relish in it.
"If you ever use my name again without my permission, you will regret it. Do you understand, mate?" I nodded. This apparently wasn't good enough for him.
"I expect a verbal response mate! Do you understand!" He roared in my face and I started to cry.
"Yes, Alpha." He let go and pushed me to the floor. As I fell, I hit my head on the corner of a table. I felt the blood, but I also felt tired. I let out a breath and fell into the darkness, hearing several voices scream in fear.
~Diesel~
I went to find those damned guards that were there when Serge was shot. The one that shot was in on it. Knowing which one was which and made sure to shoot the original Serge. Serge was in surgery and was stable, but kept flatlining for a few seconds before he came back. Zinniah was in the waiting room crying, nurses constantly checking up on her. She had nearly killed her mate hours before, and now he mate is dying once again. That has to be a record for anyone. He cheated death earlier today, let's hope he can do it once again.
I found the same group of guards from earlier and growled. They looked at me and they were confused.
All but one.
"Jakub-" Before I could finish talking he had already started to run off. Anyone who runs like that is obviously guilty. I shifted into my fox and chased him as he shifted into his wolf. I easily caught up as he was an omega in the pack and easily trampled him and pushed him to the ground. He tried to push me off of him but since I am a royal bodyguard and part of the royal council, I am much stronger than he is. I growled louder and he moved his head to the side and barred his neck in submission. I got up and shifted and grabbed a pair of shorts and put them on.
"Shift. Now." He whined and went behind a tree. When he emerged, he was in the shorts he grabbed and was putting on a t-shirt. I growled in anger.
"So. Did you know you had a wooden bullet cocked into the gun?" He went pale and shook his head.
"No, sir. I had no idea." He seemed genuine but scared. He was hiding something.
"If you are hiding anything, you need to tell me now." He gulped and sighed.
"Look, I don't know anything. All I know is that there were two of him, and then there was none of him. I was previously fighting with a different gun and when I heard that they had the princesses I was given a gun by someone else. He didn't say Sir Daniel's name so I thought Serge was the warlock... I didn't realize my mistake until..." He sighed and rubbed his face.
"You got, a different gun, from someone else?" I was becoming enraged. Who the hell gave him the gun?
"Do you know who?"
"A fellow guard... I didn't look at the face I just took the gun. I'm so sorry." He looked distraught. I sighed and dismissed him. He ran back to the castle where his buddies were waiting for him. I sighed and walked back through the gardens.
What an eventful day this was.
