The Asura master charged toward the mountain with a frustration in him. The angry face which he displayed was not an ordinary one.
Awan tried to follow behind his master. The distance between the master and disciple soon began furthering apart. The student tried his best to keep up but it was futile plus it drained his energy faster.
Soon, Azak landed a kick on the man made hole thus pushing the boy deeper until he reached the centre of the mountain.
'Finally, my revenge is here!'
'Shakala, my love.'
'You'll be avenge today.'
'I swear by my life!'
Azak was beating the poor boy senselessly as the latter vomitted blood as a result of the beating. Every kick the body received, the higher the chance of severing the damage inflicted on it.
Awan who just arrived saw the beating scene but he chose to remain at the sideline try to avoid from getting involve.
Then, a bright light emerged from the Asura's hand, took a form of a lance. He raised the lance high for every witnesses to see. His face was displaying an exciting as he was near his goal.
Suddenly, a light emerged from the west, knocking the lance out from the Asura's hand. This took the duo by surprise because someone managed to find them.
'Huh?'
Azak and Awan twisted their necks to see the person who dared to interfered with Azak's vengeance. A yellowish red object flew past the duo before attacking them endlessly.
The object had a pair of wings and it had a resemblence of a pheasant. Every part of its body was engulfed by a flame.
Azak was furious at the burning bird that interfered in his quest for vengeance. Awan on the other hand had a bad premonition since the bird did not arrived alone.

"Not-"
"Sorry, master."
Awan knocked his master out before they fled using a magic circle when the blue colored light emerged from the forest, aiming toward them.
Livius was badly injured as he was lying on a red pool. His fingers moved a bit, signifying that the youth was still alive.
As his eyes were on the verge of collapsed, a group of black armored figures came into his sight. One of them pressed two of his left fingers, index and middle on the victim's neck.
"Admiral, the victim still has a pulse!"
The crimson pheasant soon returned back to a form of a certain individual, wearing the exact suit, matching the team.
When his eyes were layed upon the fallen youth, he thought that he imagined thing but he let the medic took him back.

Darkness was the only thing that was visible to his sight until a tiny light began to comfort him by emerging in the centre of the darkness.
"Huh?"
He saw a very futuristic facility being presented before his eyes. The lack of gravitational force around him was strange. The constantly flowing bubbles around him had made the youth realised something, he was in a tank full of blue liquid.
Luckily, he had gas mask attached to his face or else he would surely drown due to lack of oxygen. The scene of humanoid creatures with similar behaviour habit as human was presented before his eyes.
'Am I dreaming or something?'
'These are… ALIENS!'
'So many species yet they could achieve a harmony relationship.'
Livius could not stopped himself from admiring the teamwork present in the room but given his current situation, if he move randomly, any accidental incident could happened.
Instead, he just lying in the tank, waiting for his unknown fate. He slowly closed his eyes allowing the darkness to ease him.

A humanoid reptillian was enjoying her break in a base located in a native when she noticed that four men were carrying an unconscious human back in.
Blood was dripping from the victim as the medics availabe rushed to recieve him, bringing him straight to sickbay.
"What happened?"
"I'll explain later!"
When they arrived, the staffs were surprised when the recon team brought an injured human back to their temporary .
"Bots, get this boy to the capsule tank immediately!"
""Affirmative, Dr. Uthman!""
When a middle age human male gave the order, the medical androids immediately took body from the soldiers before brought him to the recovery tank.
Uthman and the high ranking entity went discussing the recent mission which the Crown Prince gave the entity.
"Sir, may I ask you some question?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Well…"
"Then, allow me to be frank, sir…"
"Go on."
"There's something strange yet familiar with the boy."
"You sense it too?!"
The duo had their conversation for nearly an hour when an android came out from one of the room in the sickbay.
"Greetings, sirs."
"09, what's the boy's status?"
The robot then told the two officers regarding the youth's condition.
Based on their examination, the boy suffered from several broken ribcages, a damage heart caused by the bones, a disturbance within the nervous system.
"And there's something strange about him, sir."
"What is it, 09?"
"The boy had an unidentified liquid in his bloodstream and we had a record of him in the Chrome Database."
"Wait! Wait! You said database as in, in the archive?"
"Precisely, Admiral."
The admiral and doctor were glancing at each other then 09 and the process repeated several time with their blinking eyes.
"Uthman, is it me or did the android just said that the boy is a Chromian?"
"I think he just did."
"Anyway, 09, bring up the archive under my permission."
"Right away, admiral."
As soon as the robot "unleashed" the data from the ICE Archive, every single officer in the post had their eyes as wide as a saucer with their jaws dropping nearly reaching the ground.
The 3D holographic image emerged from the Chrome Archive, the very source where every informations are being stored in it. The very archive can only accessed by the highest officals only.

March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Gray's Crucible
“The value you have brought to trade is immense, more than a thousand fold what any other traveler to Crucible has ever produced. More than even I produced during my journey.” The old man paused for a moment here, seemingly reluctant to continue. After a few seconds he begins again with weariness creeping into his voice. “As the Messenger of Crucible I have received the value of your life. You shall be awarded a body with potential equaling the value you have brought to this place in accordance with the laws of the higher realms. Now you shall depart for Crucible, but first; I, Jaze, will give you some advice.” The old man, Jaze, he had named himself paused a time. Time enough that Gray began to wonder if he was still present, when he suddenly continued in a low and serious tone, “You will undoubtedly have great potential Gray of Earth, but it is still only potential. What could be is not necessarily what will be. If you step foolishly in my world, if you can not live up to the potential you have bartered for, Crucible will crush you mercilessly and tear away your very soul.” A thought, cheerful and light was heard from Gray before his presence was sent rocketing away like a shooting star. “I’m looking forward to it.”
