《Landlord》Chapter 1. Fugitive

It’s been one year since he had left home and many rabbits. Yes, his only fun become dissecting rabbits since he successfully made a functioning bow and some arrows, wonky but still does the job. It might sound creepy, but he did to survive even though he didn't like meat.
Today was no different he was busy with his only fun, butchering a rabbit. Thanks to this habit of his he learned how to dry meat and so far he never had an issue with food. While he was thinking how he should cut the pieces, a loud noise made him drop the chunk of meat he was about to cut. The source of the noise was a little higher place on the mountain close to the summit.
He didn't even have time to whine about the meat, just washed the blood off his hands with the little water left in the water bucket he bring this morning and take the bow and two arrows he had then started to ran towards the source.
Area wasn’t far from the dwelling just 10 minutes of jogging brought him near a big creator, presumably the source of the noise. He expected to find a crashed plane or meteorite. What he found was an egg-shaped black chunk of metal. It had cracks all over it. He considered looking closer but after thinking about how dangerous it can be, he just gave up.
He was curious but he did not want to die for it. Just as he was leaving he stopped. No one spoke but someone needed help. He just knows that he needs to help but why, how did he know there was someone inside. It was horrifying. Someone is inside of his brain not talking but somehow telling you to help her, yes it was woman whatever it was he can tell.
When he intended to run before going mad, a message appeared in his mind
“Please, help me. I am stuck and can't move”
He panicked more and frantically shouted,
“Whatever she is she is speaking in my mind, oh great who are you? And why are you invading my mind? If you keep doing whatever you are doing I am leaving”

“Wait, I don't know your language”
“Then how are you spe- damn it you are doing it again. That's it I am leaving now”
“Please don't, we are not speaking”
“What's that supposed to mean? You ARE talking in my mind and I am not liking that at all.”
“It means I am sending my intent to your mind and receiving your intent from your mind. You don't know how to communicate so I am doing instead of you. That's why you are feeling violated. Its normal and I am sorry but I had no choice. If you left I would be dead.”
“That's rational but still I am not going to get near close to you. How am I supposed to know you won't hurt me when I get close”
“Look, does my ship gives you ‘I come here to enslave your kind’ vibes. I crashed here and stuck in my seat. I am not the ones you should be scared, I am the most rational one of my kind and for that reason, they tried to kill me and I escaped”
“More the reason not to help you. A criminal who is escaping from the police”
“You are right. I am a fugitive and ones behind me are law enforcers. But the law they will enforce when they arrive will kill half of your population and enslave the other half.”
“Are you threatening me”
“No, I am not! Remember I am escaping from them. Just calm down and help me get out of here”
“And why would I do that?”
“Huh, being good and stuff. Your mind is filled with them.”
“Those thoughts are just infections. It wasn’t my volition to put them in there. It was forced and here, there is no one to force me.”
“Okay, how about I give you something that will help you protect yourself and your family from my kind. If that's not enough I will help you evolve too.”
“Evolve what do you mean evolve? And why would they come here to invade just because a criminal escaped and stopped here.”

“No, they are not coming because of me. I come here because they were planning to invade a primitive solar system.”
“We are not primitive.”
“Yes, you are. Your planet didn't even start to use mana and I am assuming you are not the only one that hasn’t evolved yet. When they come they will easily invade the planets you haven't even set foot on the solar system and when they come, they will simply kill your kind to show how superior they are. We might look like you humans but our whole planet completely evolved and we are not humans anymore.”
“I don't want to evolve if that means I lose my humanity.”
“To survive you don't have a choice. In case you are lucky you will become a slave but I assume you won't like to live your life at the whims of another. They will use this planet to farm mana and it won't be pleasant. You will work till you nearly die and they won't let you die. It will continue till you die either you die cause of age or too much stress.”
“I won't become a slave to another race. I didn't let my race and I won't let any other either, but how am I supposed to get you out of that thing? If it's still standing after that fall I don't think I can cut it open.”
“I will help you you just need to ……”
After rescuing her, he carried her down the path towards the dwelling on his back. It did take a half hour to get them to the dwelling. After putting her on the rabbit fur and tending her wound she can already sit and looking better when she was inside the ship. ‘inhumane powers I guess’
“Yes you are right, my regeneration ability did become incomparable faster after I evolved but I am intelligence type evolver. This much is nothing I saw a warrior to grow his lower half after some rest.”
“Huh growing back half of your body back? How did he survive in the first place?”
“His group had a healer. Healer just stopped the bleeding, it was enough for him to survive”
“Are you immortal?
“No silly, I'm still a human-based race. I evolved but I am still human-like, as you see. Every human will die unless they become something more.”
“But it is possible, I mean immortality.”
“Yes and no. You can evolve to a point that you don't have to eat drink and sleep, you would just need mana to supply to your system. But you are not immune to death, after face tanking a supernova you won't survive and keep living. But you would live as long as you have mana in your core to keep you going.”
“So how do I evolve?”
“I will help you but would you let me sleep first I am really tired after that accident. We can start tomorrow, we will need some materials from the ship. But I have to ask first are you the owner of this land you are living?”
“What do you mean, we do own this land it is my families property, arent you already reading my mind why ask?”
“I can but to some extent. I cant completely scan your mind, even though you are not evolved and cant use your brain to its full potential your subconsciousness is filled with junk that you stored it and never check it after stored. It’s a mess, miracle that you can still speak.”
“Hey! How am I supposed to do that, my brain isn't a computer drive, I cant just write and delete stuff at will.”
“Yes, you can. But right now isn't a good moment I am sleeping now.”
“So you don't need to eat something or drink water?”
“I do but not now”
“Goodnight then” ‘ i guess I will finish cutting the rabbit. Ah and this time I don't have to dry the meat I will just cook it we can finish it, probably.’
“Yes I need to eat when I woke up and we can finish it it’s not that big.”
“Ah okay. It was weird the first time still weird.”
While he headed towards where he left the butchered rabbit, the girl started to cry quietly.

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Jerry tries to settle down, wanting nothing but a peaceful life for him and his undead—and, when that doesn't quite work out, he sets out to adventure. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.

Cover art thanks to Juzual! **** The world’s leading covert organisation loses their most powerful member after dispatching him onto a seemingly trivial mission. Several weeks pass and there are no signs of him returning. Instead there are unexplained occurrences, people gaining unfathomable power and performing inhuman feats. Just as the world faces a global conflict in search of the power’s origin, a strange form of radiation is detected from Mars. The same radiation is found in the bodies of those who gained the alleged ‘super powers’. The previously barren planet is observed to be covered with lush forests, large bodies of water and unnatural structures. Claiming Mars as the key to mankind’s future, the organisation leads humanity to pool its resources together and create manned missions in search of the truth. Any previous expectations were shattered as the same man whose disappearance sparked the worldwide change, greeted them on the new frontier. Who is this man and how did he end up as the pioneer of the galaxy’s greatest revolution?
