WITHIN THE VILLAGE WALLS:
The female Elite Guard stood and watched in awe as she saw those two undying monsters who had managed to put pressure on her die within seconds, one was left as an empty shell, while the other had burst up in flames not even leaving his ash behind. She had heard rumours about the 'Moon Princess' from five years ago, she was powerful, ruthless and even said to be the vice captain of the 1st Elite Squad. The truth is that the members of the 1st Squad had never been disclosed even to the other squads so very few knew of their identity, but it was said to have been made up of the monsters in the younger generation, with May at the top. All of that had just been rumors in her own opinion but after getting the chance to see The Moon Princess herself in action, she could no longer deny that this little girl before her was truly a monster.
'What are you doing spacing out? Go regroup with the others and take care of the one atop the wall, if Tor is done before you all, then just wait and see your punishment.' Tori said and looked at the kneeling guard who had looks of worship and admiration in her eyes. She stood up and looked at Tor who was on a building not too far away. Tor that esteemed name was given to someone rumored to be useless, but when she came here with her other comrades, they had heard a tale of Jin and Tor who defeated monsters outside the village and also dealt with the ones who assaulted the village. The story was too good to be true, but after seeing how he spoke to the Moon Princess as equals, one would even percieve him as arrogant when he said he would be the one to deal with the leader of this group, surely he couldnt be stupid, because even she could feel the nightmare that was cooking outside the city.
'Do not worry princess, surely we would finish him off before the Young Lord Tor is done outside the city.' She bowed her head and spoke but the confidence and almost disregard for Tor was evident in her voice. In truth, all the Elite squad members were hardly ever present in the village because there had been buzz about something big brewing and monsters being controlled appearing around after which massacres occured and due to this they had been going around investigating. This caused them to have no news of what happened to Mak who was one of the Elders the squads kept cautious attention on because of the high risk of rebellion. And the people had mostly seen Jin's own battle but were hardly outdoors even though they were powerful mages and therefore they didn't even have the courage to watch Tor's fights.

'Your confidence spawned from ignorance is really inspiring. Since you are so sure i will keep a very harsh punishment in mind for you. It is your time that is wasting at the moment hurry and try your best.' Tori said smiling under the mask but when the Elite guard looked in her eyes she felt a shiver go down her spine, she had never been afraid when facing those 'Undying animals' but now she was scared of someone who didn't even try to threaten her, shameful. She did not waste a second more but headed for the wall where the others were battling the vice captain of the cloaked figures.
Tor on the other hand wasn't bothered with all these little issues and just let Tori do as she pleased since she wasn't killing anyone that she shouldn't. 'Time for your battle hubby, kill them all.' she said acting all cute and giggled then she vanished without a sound.
OUTSIDE THE WALLS:
At this point the Old man was done but the bodies which had rose were many, some of which had died in previous battles on the grounds which they were standing. The old man knew of this skill well, it was a skill which the soul clan could use after ascension to the return origin level. With this all the souls of mages which have been absorbed had the ability of individuality and can inhabit corpses making them animate but entirely loyal to the one who has absorbed those souls. 'Kid, don't look down on them because these are moving corpses, they have the ability of the warriors whose souls have been trapped.' The Old man spoke to the guard captain as they had gotten encircled and were being attacked on all sides but he dodged some calmly and with each wave of his hand, he sliced two or three of the corpses into fine pieces. 'Also you have to cut them up entirely so they don't keep moving and since they cannot regenerate, the soul would have to leave.' The old man concluded as the guard captain was also dodging and slicing his way through the encirclement.
'God do you ever just shut up, the problems we are having are just begining.' The guard captain responded in irritation, and why wouldn't he be irritated, it was clear that this cloaked figure was like a predator playing with the food in its mouth and it wasn't that they couldn't break through the encirclement easily but if they did, what next? They did not believe that they could defeat that monster on their own but the auras of the other cloaked figures had vanished and only the one he attacked on the wall was left so he hoped his team members would end it quickly and then rejoin him to take care of this cloaked figure with the blue coiling dragon around him. 'Huh, I never knew the Spatial fortress made cowards Elite Guards, talk less of captains.' Tori said as she appeared between the captain and the old man, her words were laced with sarcasm but the captain could not refute her.

'Princess although I am scared but it is not for me but the fact that i would not be able to complete my mission to bring lady Jin home for the Madam (May's mom) to stabilize her condition.' He said in a very serious manner but his sword did not stop moving blocking and slicing apart the corpses that came rushing in. 'Hahaha, if only your skills were as good as your excuses. Dont worry I dont expect too much from you, just go as far as you can.' She replied while finding the whole thing funny. The captain who ealrier was hesitant, knew that since Tori 'The Moon Princess.' The youngest person to be named into the Elite Squads and the First squad no less was there, he would not be dying here today. The guard captain stepped up his pace as each of his slashes mowed down tens of the corpses and with that opening he charged directly towards the cloaked figure but noticed that the stronger corpses who he had been wary of were running in the opposite direction of him which left the cloaked figure open and the dragon which was around him, abruptly took flight and went the way the other corpses were running.
'It seems that I would have to get even stronger for the foe who is on his way, if I eat that soul, that aura I am sure that I would become even more powerful than the inquisitors of the gods from the upper realm.' The cloaked figure spoke in excitement as the guard captain appeared behind him and slashed his sword as a ray of blacklight sword aura shot out and extended far cutting into the city wall and leaving a huge gash in the ground and wall which were a huge distance apart. 'where was all this power when we started, now you qualify as an appetizer.' The cloaked figure spoke as he appeared at the left flank of the captain and swung his bone sword out and it erupted with the blue soul consuming fire, but the guard captain blinked and appeared above the head of the cloaked figure as he slashed out a couple of times with his sword releasing more of the blacklight sword aura. The aura he sent out was a combination of his spatial mantle and his sword will which could cut through space itself, but the cloaked figure did not eveen dodge but used 'Soul Shield.' which basically took whatever damage he was supposed to take and these strikes were so powerful that the souls used to block it were utterly destroyed but this also greatly diminished the power of the strikes that they only cut through parts of the cloak and the figure grabbed the leg of the captain and with a 'Hulk smash bang' threw the guard captain into the floor and caused it to cave in. 'Is this what the elite guards have become? this is pathetic.' The cloaked figure goaded the Elite Guard captain, while Tori made no attempt to move and the old man was still a distance away contemplating whether he should help or escape since he already got the one he wanted to save.
In the distance at the spot where Tor had fought the Blood Ape and the Ice Elder, there was a roar which could be heard by the guard captain who was far away, but as though Tor had been anticipating this, he was close to the region and that seemed to be where all the corpses had been sent to. The Blood Ape could be seen walking towards Tor but this time its body was crystalized and blue with its eyes releasing the pale blue soul consuming Flames which the cloaked figure had been using and at the same time the three strongest corpses had also appeared on the opposite side, both them and the Ape looked at Tor with so much bloodlust that it even affected the atmosphere.

Keepers of the Neeft
The Indigo Empire has conquered half the world’s nations, their people, and their gods. According to its citizens, old and new, the rest of the world will follow. In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.
