《Just a Lowly Monster》Evolution

I'm floating in an empty white space. My eyes slowly open. After spending so long around Nyx, naturally I've been adapted to darkness. As a result, the light blinds me and nearly overloads my senses. While I try to adjust, a metallic voice begins to speak.
"Welcoming Host Reiko Nakamara to the Greater Domain. Host has several evolution paths to choose from. Accessing Host's innate bloodlines.
- Evolution Path: High Human
- [NEW] Evolution Path: Leviathan
- [NEW] Evolution Path: Lesser God
The host may pick one evolution path available."
My mind bugs out. I can become a god? I knew that the ichor of a primordial merging would grant me an insane amount of strength but achieving godhood?
I don't even have to think about the other evolution paths. What's a leviathan compared to a god?
"Lesser God," I say without hesitation.
"Confirming choice."
"..."
My body begins to swivel and bright stars attach themselves to me. Surprisingly it doesn't hurt as much as I would have expected from such a drastic racial change. After experiencing such intense pain from just eating monster meat, it would be a lie if I wasn't feeling nervous about the repercussions of becoming a god.
The voice talks again.
"Host's compatibility with Lesser God bloodline is at [100%]. Beginning evolutionary process. Host given several options for his domain:
- Destruction
- Chaos
- Death
- Hell"
Hmm. This is interesting. I'm guessing domains are the powers you rule over. Nyx did mention her domain is night. Well I am in Tartarus, so I might as well choose Hell.
"Hell."
"Evolving host into a Hell God. [King of Demons] title acquired. [Hellfire] skill acquired. [Greater Hellbeast Taming] skill acquired. [Divine Regeneration] skill acquired. [Divine Sense] skill acquired. [Desire] skill acquired. [Mental Resistance] skill evolved into [Zen]."

My fins and spikes disappear. My body configures into a taller and broader version of my past life's self. My divine form is now that of a regular human with the exception of retractable claws, pointed ears and a demonic tail. I can now feel pure power flowing through me. I can tell that I have ichor naturally flowing through my veins. As a test, I slice one of my arms with a claw. As confirmation of my divinity, ichor is pouring from the wound and I stare mesmerized at the golden fluid while my regeneration heals it.
"Host has been evolved into a Lesser Hell God. Host's interactions with the System will now be forcibly terminated. Host will now leave the astral field."
I feel my consciousness stretch and disappear from the white space. I wearily open my eyes. I am lying down on a bed alone. I struggle to get up and look around for Nyx.
She's in her study frowning at several documents. I knock and enter.
"Yo." I raise my hand in a wave.
She glances over and raises her eyebrows.
"I can sense divinity from you. Did it work?"
"Yeah. I'm now a Lesser Hell God." I laugh.
"Hmph. I'm surprised it worked. That was the first time I ever tried to grant divinity before."
Puffing her chest, she looks up at me in a smug grin.
"Now where's my thank you?"
I draw close to her face and hold her hands.
"Nyx, thank you so much. I'll never forget this."
"Wh-what are you doing so close."
Her face turns crimson and she looks away. I sigh.
"Nyx. Its about time I leave. I was planning on training against the other monsters in Tartarus but I feel confident enough to go to the Doors of Death. I'm going to have to eventually fight Hades cause I'm sure he won't stand for another god in his territory."

Nyx stares at me in disbelief. She knew I had big plans but to confront one of the Olympians so soon after becoming a god? It was crazy to say the least.
I laugh at her doubts.
"Hades won't be the only god I fight. I'm sure that the other Olympians won't just stand by after I shame one of their own. Not that it matters, they'll just be my stepping stones to attain absolute power. I'll make sure to come back for you as soon as I can confidently stand above the world."
"It can't be helped. It would be a pity if you died so soon after I spent all this time training you. I'll give you a piece of advice. Find Kampe. She's a spawn of Gaea and Tartarus who's guarding over the Cyclops and Briares. I heard she was slain by that upstart Zeus during the Titan War. It's been more than two millennium since then so she should have reincarnated by now. Her territory is just a little past mine. She'll surely be a good partner for your journey."
"Thanks Nyx-shishou."
I start to walk out. Nyx has a complicated expression on her face before snapping her fingers. A woven basket appears covered in a cloth. She hands it to me. I peek inside and a wonderful aroma wafts in my nose.
"It's for you. It's spacially connected to my kitchen and filled with my magic so it'll never run out of food."
I'm surprised and delighted. I pull her in for a tight hug. She doesn't resist. She's so close I can smell her misty fragrance. I take one last breath of her and let go.
"Thank you Nyx. Really thank you for everything. I don't know what I would have done without you."
I bow, just like I had at our first meeting. She just nods breathlessly. It looks like she's at her limit too. In an irritated tone, she scoffs.
"Now go! I'm tired of seeing your face anyways."
I chuckle and pinch her cheeks.
"Waaah."
"See you later Nyx."
"Hmph. You better come back you hear me? I'll never forgive you if you forget about me!"
I walk out of the gates to her mansion smiling at her antics and begin walking in the distance.
Staring at the back of a man who lightly lumbers away, a certain goddess wistfully whispers, "Be safe."
With a click of her tongue she swiftly turns around and marches into a black mansion, the loud echos of her steps disrupting the silence of the empty rooms.

8 74Casa do Diaño: The Fool
As Thomas Hobbes once said, "Humans are driven by a perpetual and restless desire for power." Given the heavily moral standards society has placed on its inhabitants for centuries, it's no wonder many people deny their internal need to be in control of something. "Oh, we do not want to rule the world at all! We just want to live happy and die happy!" Of course, the irony there is that, by wanting a happy future, you are actually projecting your own desires and opinions into what the world should be like. Hence your inner monarch banging his/her scepter for all their subjects to hear. Though to be fair, this is a pretty small, small example. Why settle for small? Why not go the extra mile and become that vicious monarch pounding his scepter at his feet? This is the story of a young man by the name of Genghis Dillinger Boy. There are quite a few words that can describe Genghis. Anarchist. Libertine. Criminal. Psychopath. He has denied the moral standards society has set for him and constantly lives his life seeking more and more power. Once an unexpected turn occurs in his life, he uses it as an excuse to burn his bridges and move him and his bride to a mysterious island known as Casa do Diaño. Genghis vows to burn the old world to the ground and watch as his brand new world arises from the ashes. But what if he's biting off more than he can chew? After all, monsters like Genghis are not the only kind of monsters lurking in the House of the Devil...
