After receiving a written invitation from the former grandmaster himself, Chloe wasted no time tracking down her superior that she answers to, a fellow psychologist in the criminal investigation branch named Miles Renfield. Unfortunately, Miles was in meetings all day, gathering information from everyone in Madrid. Hearing that one of her operatives was given such an invitation, she had to see for herself.

Later that afternoon, Chloe went to the Interpol offices in Madrid and met up with Miles in her office. She knocked on the door twice and let herself in. There Chole saw a slender platinum blonde, blue-eyed woman sitting at her desk. She looked up to see Chloe and was relieved to see her.

“Detective Constable Serpentine,” Miles spoke in a Swiss accent.

“Thank you for seeing me, ma’am,” Chloe greeted as she sat down.

“You wasted no time getting back to me about this. Good job,” Miles praised as they shook hands.

Chloe nodded as she blushed at her superior’s overzealous nature, “Thank you, ma’am. I didn’t believe it myself but, Grandmaster Eichner himself gave me this written invitation,” Chloe reported as she handed the written letter to Miles.

With her reading glasses, Miles looked over the letter, “How thoughtful him. He always had terrible handwriting,” Miles criticized, tossing the letter aside. “Looks like our ghost detail surrounding the new school was a bust, according to him. He really thinks he has the upper hand discovering you. Well, he’s an idiot. We knew your presentation would draw him out.”

“Indeed, ma’am. Through careful analysis, Dolph is in danger of his own life, surrounding himself with people who can kill him easily. ‘Women are the most dangerous creatures created by God, who can create and destroy civilizations.’ He feels trapped and alone…” Chloe explained.

“He was married to Sudbina Novak, but that didn’t last for one reason or another…” Miles reminisced, taking off her reading glasses and setting them aside. “Last year, he came to us personally and wanted to offer his services to Interpol. Which shocked all of us, since most of them are on the most wanted list throughout the world. But, the Superintendent, made a deal with him and those who were involved with the Oleander Syndicate.”

This is all new news for Chloe as this shocks her, “What was the deal?”

“He wants every active and inactive operative exonerated for their crimes,” Miles summarized.

“Sure, and I want my own private jet,” Chloe criticized.

Miles knew that the decision was not really a popular one around the rank-and-file of Interpol, but it was necessary.

“Well, he got it, under one condition,” Miles continued. “all of the active field operatives become Interpol Agents.”

“On what planet do you think that is fair trade? These are war criminals who preyed on humanity and should be locked in a cage-like the animals that they are!”

Miles was not surprised at Chloe’s outrage knowing the Oleander syndicate was responsible whether it was wholly or partially for the firebombing in London. Even now, the details are not entirely out there, and everyone has made their own assumptions. Including the media and herself.”

Miles sat back in her chair as she took a deep breath, “They know that. Trust me, they know that. After what happened five years ago, everyone from the syndicate vanished without a trace. We even hired outside help to conduct manhunts. Now, we have managed to flip the grandmaster for protection but at the same time, gain access to his world,” she sympathized.

But all Chloe did was shake her head in disbelief, “And you don’t want him to run again…”

“Or anyone else… Women like Ryuenjin, Eichner, and Coyle cannot help themselves. They will make a mistake and when they do?”

“Understandable, ma’am…” Chloe reluctantly agreed.

“They already made a mistake in New York. Let’s keep this momentum going… If Dolph wants his ‘prized possessions’ to be a part of Interpol, let them,” Miles encourages.

“Yes, ma’am,” Chloe said.

It took her a while to weigh on the options of getting at least a clean arrest on the person who was responsible for the holy firebombing, but they are so much more on the table the just that incident. She has to think about the numerous unsolved cases that the Oleander Syndicate and the Dark Nebula Coalition were involved in. Those were only assumptions, but with the right psychological profile, she can crack so many cases open and finally bring closure to many victims who are alive or dead.
