I boarded the bus with great hope to spend a beautiful day with my new classmates, and I was attempting to change my nature from a highly introverted boy to a carefree boy who can play with everyone.

As we got closer to school I was really becoming more and more nervous as I was still a boy who likes to hide in a corner even in the public gatherings, this nervousness of mine was really a pain in my ass. This always stopped me from socializing.

Finally, it was the school ground where the bus came to a halt and students were pouring out like water leaking out of a cracked bucket. This overflowing nature of young students can't be restrained by a bunch of teachers guarding the bus' gate for any mishap that may occur due to the commotion.

Finally, it was my turn to get out of this bus and face my first challenge in this new school. I took a deep breath and stepped forward to get out of the bus.

BUT mishaps never miss ruining my confidence.

Just as my foot was about to land on the steps my foot slipped from the edge of the very first step where my foot just landed and with this, there came a sound "thud".

" Pufft" and several students were trying hard to control their laugh after seeing a fellow student falling off from the bus on his very first day. They glanced over me, who was lying flat on the ground trying to control my urge to cry due to the embarrassment I brought on myself due to my careless nature. I was just hoping everyone to disperse so that at least I would at least feel less shame while getting up and heading to my classroom.

While I was just hoping this to happen and was praying to God a hand tapped on my back and pulled me up from the ground. That hand stroked on my shirt removing the dirt from it and then it suddenly approached me with a handshake gesture, so I followed the nature and shook my hand with that hand.

Up until now, I was still looking down to escape the mocking gazes of my fellow students.

I repressed all the shame and embarrassment in my heart to look up to the person who helped me and kind enough to not mock me. I looked up and saw a smiling face full of hope, seeing me.

"Hey!! my name is Ian, I am a student of Grade 2 Class A," said the boy who helped me.

"I am Alex, same class and grade, I am actually a new student joining today" I responded.

"Hey, that's great!!, would you like to be friends with me?" inquired Ian with a hopeful look on his face. With just a look at him, I can tell we were actually sheep from the same herd in terms of socializing.

I was really elated to know that I can be friends with someone just after entering this school. Apart from learning my biggest target after entering a school is to make friends, thus I suppressed my excitement in my heart and said:

"Sure I would really love to be friends with someone so kind-hearted".

Even though I was trying to suppress my excitement it was clearly audible in my voice.

"Okay let's head to the classroom, I'll show you around," said Ian excitedly trying to hold my hand and drag me towards the staircase.

I nodded and followed him towards this new journey of my life, "The Classroom".
