《Imaginary World (The half world chronicles)》Chapter 7 Derek

I open my eyes. The light coming from my window illuminates the room and makes it impossible for me to continue sleeping. It is probable pass 3, but I do not want to move, as soon as i gets out of bed, another unbearable day of my life will begin.
"Derek, I'm home!" "I hear my mother downstairs.
I have to get up, I promised my parents that I would go to school regularly and not sleep the day away.
"I'm in my room, I just got home and wanted to change. Be down in 5."
I take my worn jeans out of bed and pull them up as fast as I can. I check the pile of clothes on the floor and I finally find a semi-clean T-shirt, my beloved - Blue with black inscription slightly larger in size but tight enough to outline my muscles. I take the hair gel and I thoroughly make it even more disheveled by moving off my bangs slightly to avoid getting into my eyes. I look in the mirror. Better. Maybe it would look like I went to school. I get down on the first floor of our house.
"Hi Mom, didn't you have work till 6? Why are you home so early ?"
"I forgot to take my documents this morning, you know, I'm little tired lately."
"I can see, maybe that's the reason we ate that burnt chicken last night," I laugh and I notice my mother blushing.
"So how were classes? Did you have fun with Peter today?" she asks in typical mother fashion.
"It was awesome and fun, as if we were at a party. We died of boredom, of course, all this school stuff is so futile." I sight and here goes another part of my soul.

"Derek, you knows very well that if you want to enter a good university, you have to study hard."- you can feel the reproach that comes from my mother when she says that.
I knew it very well, everyone with a minimal amount of brain cells knew it. Another story was that I did not want to go to university. I wanted to find a job that did not require me to leave my house. My mother and father did not realize it, but I did not have an asthma, I was just getting panic attacks when I went out. The truth is that when I turned 7, strange things started to happen to me. I saw things that simply did not exist. It was normal for me, but when I started telling other kids, and they called me a liar, I understood that I was the only one who was different. At the age of eight, I was in the park with my mother, and I crawled into some game space where it was dark. Suddenly something pulled me to my feet, and razor-like teeth snapped into my skin. I remember how even after my mother had pulled me out and calmed me, I kept screaming. The red eyes of the goblin chased me into my nightmares for months. My mother decided that the scars on my leg were scratches, but I knew the truth. After I told about the creature, she simply told me that it was only the fruit of my imagination, but I knew better. She was just as blind as the children in school. Over time, my nightmares increased. There wasn't a day without me confronting the supernatural. On my 10th birthday, my friends and I played hide and seek. I climbed to the ceiling - since then I have been avoiding dark and enclosed spaces. A light spilled through a small window, and through a translucent figure hanging from the ceiling. My friends' steps were approaching, and I had no choice but to get closer to the something. After two more steps, I knew what I was actually seeing. A young woman of no more than twenty stared at me with her eyes glazed. Her blond blond hair was wrapped in the loop of her neck, and the thin streams of blood flowing out of her mouth formed a black puddle of blood beneath her bare feet. I could not even make a sound, I was numb. I slowly took a step back and struck something. Peter was behind me - I almost lost my shit.

Horizon
Emiluna is about to turn 16 and gain access to her first two classes. Living in a small village in the middle of nowhere, she always wanted to become a Hunter. Having learned a bit under her parents, a miller and a seamstress, she was sure she could never pick a class that meant staying inside all day. But being a Hunter is more than just a class. It means providing meat for the village, culling small pests near the cultivated fields and most importantly guarding the village from predators and monsters. But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
