Chapter 4
It was that time again where all the young kids started school. Nathan was back to homeschooling a year at a public school. At age 5 years old, he was all set up with a program named ABEKA and it was a system where kids can learn just as well as they did in a normal public school. Joe taught Nathan while I got to hang around and watch. On some days, I hung out with Randy and we'd watch TV. When I started trouble Randy would call it a Betty Davis which was his creative way of saying "You're in trouble, mister". Although, I did get to enjoy watching TV like "The Outer Limits", "Christine" (which was my first movie i took my lady friend to see at a drive-in theater in a long time when it hit theaters) and Godzilla movies on COMET. Randy let me roll and smoke a joint of marijuana from Colorado in the house. Trying to get that legal here in New Mexico was a chore for the New Mexican government because they were trying to work on it. Colorado was full of tweekers. Weeknights, Randy would record movies on TV and shows on Videocassettes. Then he'd watch them without commercials. Night after night, the staying-up-late was a habit for Randy as he got older. It helped us go to sleep faster.
Jan had the bed all to herself while Nathan and I laid stretched out on the couch. Weekdays since Randy wasn't working anymore now that he was pretty much on disability and couldn't work anymore, I'd migrate on up to Joe's house when I was bored or was needed and I'd hang out there. Sometimes, I'd wait for Nathan and stay there when he came to get me. Every two hours, I would come home and get invited to be inside with them. Nathan was homeschooled for a while before going to a public school to continue his learning to get experience of public surroundings. Nathan met a friend named Mary, I was taken to pick them up after school because Nathan didn't take the bus. For their summer and weekend, they'd hang-out and get together. I'd be the one to drop off Mary to her home although her parents weren't a pair of Jolly Ranchers either. The father was a hypocrite that Nathan was dirt and the mother was just the opposite. Shortly, Nathan and Mary were friends a long time and when the years flew by, they grew apart as they turned older. Mary started acting strange and going ape-crazy. She blamed Nathan for making her this way when he had nothing to do with it. I didn't like her either because something was off about her in a uneasy way. At one time before the behavior change, Nathan and Mary tried to make a relationship but it didn't work and there was something wrong with that picture. They didn't quite match and Nathan needed someone who was just as equal. So Mary moved away and got her sorry-prat married which I was glad to hear because she called Nathan a few names that were uncalled for and weren't deserved. I vowed and hoped whoever Nathan dated next, he wouldn't bring Mary's name up.

It was many years after that, Nathan continued ABEKA for grades 6, 7, 8,9, and 10. Public school wasn't for Nathan but at least he got to be introduced to public crowds. Joe still continued to educate Nathan on math, mechanics, and other stuff. Joe even taught Nathan how to drive starting with Susie; the Mercury Grand Marque. At that season, things had gotten serious with Susie and I. We started dating a while for a few weeks. I noticed she was all over me and she nipped at my bumper just to get my attention. it was good for the both of us and it was good for her to spend time with Nathan and help Nathan get to know the rules of the road. Once Nathan learned to drive, he learned how to drive me. Soon, Nathan was on his way to get his permit.
When Nathan was 19 years old, he got the Ford Fiesta in April 9th of 2011. He bought him at Off Again Salvage and Repair for 600 dollars. Nathan didn't know how to drive a Standard or Stick-shift until Ol' Reliable, the Fiesta taught him how. Nathan completed his driving practices. Ol' Reliable was this spunky, but stubborn son of a whisker goat, but I let him know who's boss and because I was older and bigger. The little bean would get moody if he wasn't driven once a day and sometimes needed time to himself. But the months passed and I spotted a Ford Feastiva come in and look for Ol' Reliable. I knew right away that she was in love with Ol' Reliable. She was determined to find him and they both had a relationship. I settled somewhere so I didn't have to hear noises coming from a private place like inside the house or go over to Joe's house to go to sleep. Summer time was full of strange but wonderful happenings. This time, I had gone inside the house to watch science fiction on the telly with Randy. He liked those programs about space. The very next day, I went outside to have some private time and get some fresh air. Ol' Reliable was watching his girlfriend depart into the distance. I started to give Ol' Reliable a hard time on purpose on what her name was, even though I already knew. Finally Ol' Reliable confessed that he was in love with that Ford Feastiva. Her name was Claudine. and now that I was happy to know a little the little engine that played, I could accept Claudine to come over and let Ol' Reliable spend some time with her. That June month, Emma-Sue came to visit me. She wanted to spend time with me since she only got into my body space. She wanted to warm up to me. I noticed she wanted me. I wasn't in the mood to seduce her. The only wanted thing I could do was let her purr on me and kiss every square inch on my body. It was one of my days to be lazy since I was 43 years old. I was on my way to being 44 years old. I sure felt a little bit of half-a-man.

A week later, Nathan gave me a sample of his Fireball Whiskey just to help me boost some energy for my next romantic encounter for whenever. It was warm and spicy just how some men like it...Nathan for one man that liked it better than beer. I wasn't much of a drinker myself, but that was okay. it was better every once a month.

The Fire Within Can Be Scary
In a fantasy world similar to ours, magic worked similarly to physics, with each elemental spirit magic being tied to a state of matter. Earth is solid.Water is liquidAir is gas.Fire is plasma. Four elements, four states of matter. However in the ancient world of Hitarea, "Plasma" hadn't been discovered yet. The people of this world believe that only three states of matter existed, and thus, only three elemental magic could exist. For years, Earth, Water, and Air stood alone as the three main elements from which all others originated. Advanced arts like metal from earth, or Ice from water were only extensions of their original element . . . so what does that make Fire? Fire is powerful as the earth with its mighty explosions, flexible like water as it writhes around in the air, and swift like the wind. All at the same time. Fire, in regards to combat, is the most powerful element by far. This fearsome power is Alden's to master, but this power is a double-edged sword. One shouldn't play around with fire if you don't want to be burned. The fire within can be scary, you know?

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
