Today was April 15, 1990, and there was a try out for the mosquito of the Barangay team there were almost 100 kids who wish to join the team and some of them just wanted to try it out so the first thing they told us to do was stretch after stretching for 5minutes they told us to run around the court for 5 laps and there were many kids who can't keep up with the pace after 2 laps luckily my strength and endurance stats improve or i wouldn't be able to keep to the pace of the other kid running.

After we finish running they told us that we can rest for 5 minutes and that those who want to give up can now give up and not continue half of the kid decided to give up and they have decided just to watch at the sideline to see who will be selected. after having a 5minute break

they told us to shoot 10 continuously mid-range jump shots each kid line up to take their shot and there was a kid who can land 8/10 shots into the hoop and i saw the coach was being impressed by the kid because most of the kid can only land 4 to 5 shots into the hoop. finally, it was my turn to shoot i started to jump to shake off my nervousness when i started shooting i first did was to establish a rhythm for myself after establishing it i notice that have already landed 5 balls into the hoop already and after that, I also made the other 5 shots and the coaches was shock that I made all shots, and i even heard some coaches saying that i only got lucky and it wouldn't happen

after they made us shot in the mid-range they decided to test our dribbling skills so after they have tested the dribbling skills of all the kids who were left they told us they were gonna time our speed running up and down the court there were even some kid who can run the court with 17 seconds up and down the court but the average was 20-25 and my record was only 21seconds.

and after they have tested our speed they remove the kids that didn't satisfy their requirements and only pick 20 kids and they split the kids into 4 teams so they can play 5v5 matches and i knew some the kids which were Joshua, Nathan, Charles, James, Anthony i was not surprised that they could make it this far.

After the first game was over it was now my team's turn to play the match against the other team

i was told to play the position of small forward i guess it was because of my height and my mid-range jump shots

the name of my teammates was Miguel, Jose, Jerome, and Paulo, our opponents' name was Aron, Vince, Emmanuel, Cardo, and Patrick. Emmanuel was the kid who could land 8/10 shots from mid-range and Patrick was the fastest kid in the court who could run 18 seconds up and down the court
