《The Origins and Adventures of Jogger Colt》Chapter 3

What is happening?
"Give me that!"
"This is mine!"
"I found that first!"
"No! I found that first!"
Am I in a nursery school? Why the f*ck would my parents left me here?! I am in a room. Kids of different races scuttled around.
Let's go back to what happened this morning.
"Jogger, jogger!" Earlier today, Father kept on shouting my name. I propped myself up with my hand. Still groggy from the abrupt waking state. I exerted force on my legs to stand up. I then stretched my upper body.
I flicked the gunks in my eye. "What is it?" I asked.
"Get ready. You are going to school."
"Hm... Okay. Wait? What?!"
"Just be ready."
"What?! All of a sudden?"
"Yes. Be prepared."
I have never seen my father looked so scary. I now officially added another adjective to my father, the scary-bearded-ugly man.
So they had an educational system in this world. Even if the circumstances are out of the blue, I am looking forward to it.
What came into my face about this system are kids playing around the place. Toys are scattered around the room. I felt inside me getting annoyed and I wanted to leave right now. I am trying to calm myself but a heat crept inside my chest.
I may have a teenager's mindset inside a newborn foal. But my body never fails to lie. Even my mind retained calmness, the body is now heating up getting annoyed because of the noise and chaos inside the room.
I need to get out of this room fast.
I got to find an opportunity. At that moment, the Elven teacher went out. There is no one supervising us now. I gallop towards the door. I stormed out of the room and came into the hallway.

Where is the exit again? Nevermind, let's first get out of this place. The door closed right after and went right. I never looked back. Even with the commotion going on behind, I still never looked back.
A few minutes after.
'I am lost.'
I kept going right and can't seem to find an exit out of this building. My gallop is attracting attention around the campus. I could see in the corner of my eye, students coming out of their respective rooms.
I saw humans, orcs, goblins, elves, dwarves, and fairies on my route. There are many others I couldn't name. A bi-pedaled Tiger, wearing leather armor, growled at me. A Lama, with glasses and books on hand, looked bored and got liven up as I pass by.
This time, they seem to be teens. Unlike the room, I was in which is full of babies and toddlers.
I pass a Centaur on the way. Based on his expression, he seems to know me. Do I know him? Not my concerns right now./
"STOP!"
An unfamiliar sensation took over my body that put me to a halt. It felt like an invisible cloth covered all over me. Except for my eyes, I can't move an inch. One hoof is touching the floor. The other three afloat. In others' perspective, it looked like my time just stopped.
A strong wind passed that brushed my hair up. In front of me is someone floating. As that someone approached me, I could then make out what it is. It is a Sloth wearing black robes and staff.
"Hello. Mr. Colt."
With a wave of his hand, I blacked out.
---
"Haha! He is my son! My blood is running in his veins!"
Father and Mother got called to the school. The Black-robed Sloth is the Principal of the School. Together with my classmates' parents, they held an urgent meeting.

It seems to be that me storming out of the classroom, looks fun for the kids. So, after I stormed out, they come right after. The noise and chaos from the room erupted as I stormed out.
That's why I could still hear the commotion after. I was held accountable because of my actions. And, because I am still a newborn foal, my parents got the full brunt.
The meeting took in for two hours. My sister Emma stayed silent by my side at that time. Sneaking curious glances at me. She never questioned, so I just looked at the window. I swept my gaze on the building's formation.
'That's why!' I thought to my self. The reason I couldn't find the exit because I kept on going right! The schools' building format is a squared spiral! 'If I could have just turned left!' I never turned left because of the sturdy looking doors on each of the corners with guards on it. There is no harm in going that way and I may be able to squeeze out of the guard's pursuit.
But everything is done. Right now I am waiting for the meeting to finish.
Now I remember what Mother told me about Luck stat. 'It is unpredictable,' she said. It is now clear to me. With a Luck stat of 10, how come I couldn't find the exit. 'Success my ass!'
"You know me, Zaly! That is why he is a Colt!"
I could hear Father's loud voice inside. That put a smile on my face. I am starting to love this side of Father.
The door opened, "Mr. Jogger Colt? Please come in." I went inside. My classmates sat beside their parents with sad faces. Probably they just got scolded because of what they have done. I think it is my turn now.
It always amazes me how diverse the races are in this room or this school. I even believed we've got someone who lived on the water amongst these crowd.
"Stood in front of Principal Zaly, please," said Mother.
So I stood in front of this floating Sloth and stared daggers at him. I don't know why, but I felt heat boiling inside me every time I saw him. My mind is relaxed, but my body seems to be on the other end of the spectrum.
The Sloth waved his staff lightly. Then a blue screen popped inside me and floated in front of everyone.

Mana: 10/10
Stamina: 12/20

Everyone gasped as they examined my blue screen. My parents, on the other hand, are all smiles on the corner.
Zaly, the Principal, sighed hard. He looked at my parents, who in turn smiled widely, he sighed again.
"Mr. and Mrs. Colt, Your wish is granted. Any objections?"
Everyone behind murmured for a while, but no one objected.
"Let me finalize my decision. Based upon Mister Jogger Colt's status, and the by-laws of the Royal race, he is thus qualified to study under their Royal Study, The Palace."
Now I know where my luck went.

“Listen closely for this is our oldest tale… In the beginning there was peace and knowledge throughout our land… The creatures of old roamed these lands… Evil had yet to spread through our land… A rift in the very fabric of reality formed… The land burned and melted as the creatures stepped through… As the most advanced civilization… We took the mantle to combat… By the time we were able to gather half the world had already been lain bare… The war covered the once peaceful land in death and destruction… During this time humanity's greatest light arose…” Monologued the old man, red in the face from passionately spewing his praises of a past he had no part of. Written by two authors, this novel covers the tale of a pair of protagonists in a wuxia world. Oh, and maybe an isekai or two. Our goal with this project is to make an engaging and entertaining story, while making a good attempt at a somewhat realistic wuxia setting. We’re aware of the oxymoron…
