Green Speed
They watched Tomi holding up the girl at the entrance of the armoured vehicle.
“Let her go!” Machete-Killer commanded.
Tomi looked at the woman in her hand. “Of course, she is not important anyways.” he said dismissively before tossing her away.
Toshie knew that by her trajectory, the woman would land on her head, breaking her neck. He sprinted for her falling body but the tightness of his pink jacket and pants restricted his movements, disallowing him from moving. He stopped, going low into a classic horse stance which ripped his jacket and pants at seams of its stitching of his body as well as behind. He straightened his legs, leaping for her.
He caught her in time, twisting his body to cushion her landing. Sighing in relief, he sat up, giving Machete-Killer the thumbs up. “She’s okay.”
“Thanks Pink!” Machete-Killer said before turning his attention to Tomi. “I know what you tried to do!” He drew his machete and pointed it at Tomi. “I’m going to make you pay.”
“With that?” Tomi looked at the machete in disdain before reaching behind his back and pulling a dagger. He squeezed the handle and the blade of the dagger glowed green before growing in size to the length of a katana blade. “This, is a real weapon.” Tomi said before jumping from the vehicle to the ground.
Machete-Killer and Tomi looked at each other, one charged with passion and hate, the other looked as if he were annoyed before he too charged forward. They ran for each other and slashed their respective weapons before ending up looking away from each other.
A moment later, Machete-Killer’s blade snapped before he fell forward onto his front.
“Machete-Killer!”
“Boss!” The gang members all cried in shock.
“Light him up, fools!” The familiar voice of Steel Crow shouted.
The members with firearms withdrew them as Tomi ran into the thick of the group. A chorus of gunfire followed and gang members dropped like flies. Toshie watched as Tomi weaved through the group, slowing down for a moment and allowing them to take aim before speeding up again as they shot. He began to understand what he was doing.

“Stop!” he shouted. A bullet impacted a few inches from his feet. He clenched his fist and took a deep breath. “STOP FIRING!”
They all stopped.
“What are you doing, don’t listen to him!” Steel Crow said.
“Stop using your guns! Look at the people who’ve been killed!”
They all looked around to see their comrades lying on the floor.
“He’s been making us shoot each other in the crossfire!” Toshie explained, not really knowing when he began considering them as us.
They all looked at a smug Tomi, standing in their midst, totally unharmed.
“If we can’t shoot at him,” Steel Crow said brandishing his crowbar, “then we’ll beat him to death!”
They all took out their melee weapons and charged for him.
It was a blood bath, anyone who came in contact with Tomi found their weapon cut were taken down.
“This isn’t working,” Tomi said. “Everyone, we need to retreat!”
“We don’t run away from anything!” Steel Crow said.
“We’re not running away! We’re retreating… strategically!”
“Whatever it is, I’m doing it!” one of the gang members said as they abandoned their attack and ran for their bikes.
“Our bikes… they’re not working!” one of them said, sending them to panic.
“Of course not. As soon as the my truck came online I had it release and EMP pulse.” Toshie said, walking forward, taking a moment to caress the silver bike before continuing forward to the gang members. “I will not let any of you leave alive.”
Toshie clenched his fists. This was bad. He was still virgin and was already facing death again. He needed to do something drastic if he was to survive.
He sprinted forward. “Someone give me a weapon!” Holding out his hand, he caught a large knife.
Tomi turned his attention to the approaching Toshie and sliced at him. Toshie dropped to his knees, as the sword made a deadly green arc over his head as he slid past it and Tomi.
Tomi was confused and turned around only to see Toshie straddling the silver bike. Tomi stiffened when he realised that that was Toshie’s goal.

“This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” Toshie pressed a button, green lines travelled along the bike bringing it to life, bright green energy illuminated lines on the bike, including illuminating the circumference of the two wheels. He would take this chance to escape.
“That is an X Energy powered bike, you fool! You… You wouldn’t dare.” Tomi said.
He looked at Tomi in trepidation before the motorcycle lurched forward, leaving a trail of green X-Energy in its trail.
Tomi chased after it, moving at super human speeds and forcing Toshie to speed up. Toshie went even faster, forcing Tomi to leap up to the air, with his landing coming close to Toshie. Tomi missed him by inches as he sped away, leaving the man in dust.
Tomi continued to run forward working on a device located at his wrist while he ran. A red sports car drove up beside him with no one driving it. The hard top of the vehicle peeled back, allowing Tomi to hop in before it sped away.
“That fucking traitor!” Steel Crow shouted. “He ran away and stole the bike! I knew we shouldn’t have trusted that fucker! I knew we should have…”
Steel Crow was sent off his feet when fist made contact with his face. Everyone gasped when they saw Machete-Killer, his large frame being held by Barbed Nail who was dwarfed next to him.
“You’re an idiot, Steel Crow.” he said, his voice laboured. “That man was massacring us and Killer Pink saved us by leading him away with his precious bike. We need to split up and find Pink and help him. He is one of us now, and this proves it. Are you with me?”
The gang, other than the stunned Steel Crow roared in agreement.
“Are you with Killer Pink?”
They roared in agreement once again.
“W-What’s the point?” Steel Crow rose to his feet, nursing his already swelling cheek. “Our bikes don’t work.”
Machete-Killer walked to his motorcycle, straddled it and turned the throttle, making it roar. “You sure?”
The gang roared in excitement as they all ran to their motorcycles.
“Barbed Nail, stay herein case the kid comes back.”
She nodded and gave him a thumbs up. “Go get em!”
Machete-Killer’s response was to make his motorcycle roar before the gang split up.
Toshie was finally able to slow the motorcycle down and bring it to a stop. Th world had blurred by him at such a speed that he did not know where in the city he was. He began to walk away from the silver motorcycle, figuring it would be safer for him if he was far away from it.
Princess Ballerina
Pure of heart, she will save the day!
Toshie groaned when he heard the annoying tune, digging out the Ballerina Princess phone and turned answering the call.
“Hello?”
“Toshie! Where are you? The phone’s signal just disappeared for a while!”
“”Niko? What is going on here?” Toshie shouted.
“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” she said. “Just… stay where you are and keep the phone on. I’ll help you somehow!”
Before he could say anything else he heard the obnoxious roar of a red sports car coming down the road. He looked at the vehicle in curiosity then in horror when he realised who was at the driver’s seat. He turned around and ran back to the motorcycle.
Before he could reach it, Tomi leapt from his vehicle and landed between Toshie and the motorcycle, cutting off his escape path.
“That was foolish of you,” Tomi said as he produced his green bladed katana. “Before, you had all your comrades to hide behind but now that you are alone…” Tomi walked closer to him, “your death is certain.”

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
