《My Enemy Saviour》Chapter 6: The culprit

Taehyung’s POV
Jung-kook said the police bought me to hospital and I have been unconscious for one whole day. I was relieved to know that I was saved but then I also inquired about Kang-Eun-ha who probably have been through more horrifying things than I have. He said she’s fine and went home yesterday. I’m glad that she doesn’t have any serious injuries and that my first aid was quite helpful. I also questioned Jung-kook why he was here instead of Seok-Jin Hyung and why he was not here.
Jung-kook dodged the question with an excuse that he was briefly leaving to run some urgent errands. I tried not to trouble him much but still jokingly asked him to bring my cell phone on his way. He whined but he said he would when he’ll go to bring my other necessities for me. A typical scent of the hospital made me believe that I was in the hospital. My empty mind suddenly started having flashbacks of the scenes from two days ago.
Whatever it is I have to give the credits to the annoying system. But that’s not where it ends. I would really like to know what I got myself into.
A different stream of thoughts struck my head, resulting in several questions flooding in my mind.
What is this system? Who is the developer of this system? And why me?
My lips parted, wanting to question the system but stopped suddenly reminded of my surroundings.
I can’t speak up here. They’ll think I’m mentally ill and charge me with irrelevantly long bills. I have to be careful- this system’s voice echoes in my head, assuming that the people around me reacted to them, neither the screen nor the voice so it is restricted to my vision and mind- what if I tried telepathy with it- Nothing to lose by trying… System what should I call you? A screen appeared for a brief second and disappears though I still manage to understand what it said.
[Invalid input! Please try something else]
What kind of system are you?
[System processing the command…]
Again the [i] icon on the right corner blinked several times before I touched it.
[Guidelines for using the Saviour System]
[The system is assigned as a moderator to keep the track of the player’s missions, submissions, prizes, penalties, etc]
[The system is also capable of granting favors to the player to complete the quests on time]

Something caught my eyes here.
Favors what kind of favors? I continued reading.
The nurse glanced at me for a moment with a questioning look and then went back to work. I felt her gaze but didn’t mind.
[The system is capable of detecting dangers not related to the missions and informing them as seems fit]
[The system…] Blah blah blah. I didn’t read much. I already hate reading and this was straightforward instruction guidelines. But other than a few things, got a hold of one or two of them at least.
Ok, so the system is the savior system. Damn, that means I’m a savior too- oh wait a sec.
I skimmed my eyes over the screen. It doesn’t say anywhere how many of those do I have to do?
“Aish-!” The curse word almost left my lips.
~~~~~~
I felt an urge to pee. I asked a nurse to help detach the saline pipe injected on my hand. She was friendly as she smiled, quickly complying with my request.
~~~~~~
I felt light and refreshed after doing the job, also stretched my body because it was stiff because of me lying in bed for days. Washed my face and took a glance at it in the mirror fixated in front of the basin. My pitch-black eyes were shining like black gems as small droplets of water escaped my hair, causing my curly bangs to turn downwards. I guess it was the face that a relieved person has. I smiled at my reflection, feeling proud of myself.
When I was approaching my ward I saw Jung-kook from a distance marching in circles in the hallway. He looked anxious about something. I concluded cause he was sweating buckets while having a call, his lips weren’t moving although he seemed to be attending a call. I slowly walk towards him trying to eavesdrop on the conversation.
I know he’s the type of guy who tends to keep things to himself. Maybe I can help him out-
“--- Seok-Jin Hyung is missing for 2 days, they are asking for you, Hurry and go to Y city police station- I’m at the hospital but I’ll be there soon, but for the time you should hurry ok- yes, of course, I’ll take care of everything here-”
Beep!
Jung-kook’s head turned over to the figure staring at him as soon as he realized it. His sorry expression was genuine this time, considering the brats likes to prank people often. It was… frustrating for me because it was real.

I stared at Jung-kook in disbelief. He stepped ahead, held my wrist tight, bringing it up against his chest. And when he opened his mouth, it was more painful
“Look Hyung I can explain” I yanked my hand releasing his grip. I snatched his phone from his other hand and searched Seok-Jin Hyung’s name in contacts. I tapped and placed the phone against my ears only to hear the ring before the warning that said ‘this number was out of reach’. My head swiftly lifted to look Jung-kook in the eyes as I asked “Where is Hyung? What do you mean missing?” I groaned mockingly. “Is he not at home?” Looking as Jung-kook’s defeated expressions makes me even more infuriated.
“Just freaking call him you idiot- call him dozens you know that- Wah, I thought he was at home and you guys were taking turns or something-”
“Look-”
“I want to get discharged” the determination in my eyes made Jung-kook frightened. He knows me well enough that I am a crazy bastard when it comes to Hyung. I rushed towards the counter as I said with a little higher and informal tone “I want to discharge today, where are my clothes? Give me my clothes!” the slam on the desk startled her. She responded with a trembling voice
“Let me first check the records-”
“Ah forget it” I turned and give a wave from behind.
“I’m leaving this place” I started speeding up as Jung-kook still persistently tried to chase me. I knew I can make it outside if run at my full speed. I just need to see Hyung is safe is all. The restlessness I feel now will just keep growing if stayed here any longer.
I started skipping a few steps on the staircase to speed up as I noticed many other hospital staff were also chasing me with Jung-kook. They just don’t understand, I’m perfectly fine- A faint but sudden blackout in my eyes although it was for a brief moment it was enough to make me feel unconscious.
Please my damn body, I beg of you to hold for a little longer. At least till I make it outside.
I hurried my steps as I stopped parkouring at the staircase. A screen with fluttering signs emerged at my face.
[The pending penalty shall be received now….]
[Processing….]
The moment I skimmed through the letters on the screen was the moment I felt my ankle twist in the middle of that huge staircase. I glanced straight, a queue of wheelchairs down the stairs before my eyes became cloudy, followed by I blackout.
Eun-ha's POV
As soon as I heard from Jung-kook I arrived at the police station and informed them about the reasons why I didn’t pick up their calls. They were made up on the spot but were believable. They asked for my introduction and identity. I introduced myself as his friend and showed my ID.
One of the officers offered me a seat. I rained questions on him first due to the sense of uneasiness in my mind.
“Sir, did you found Jin?”
“No, we are still looking for him”
“Who reported him missing? Did you confirm their identity?”
“Yes, we have. It was the landlady. She said when she went to receive her rent which was pending for 3 months in a row. She knocked at his door for two days back to back and hence got frustrated and opened the door with her spare keys but found the apartment empty but the clothes and everything still there as if someone was still living there. She claimed she didn’t saw anyone going in and out of the apartment. Since she’s an old lady she used to stay all day at home and spy on him possibly. She came to file a report yesterday against him for not paying up. But ended up filing a missing report, as you can see it very well looked like it”
“Yes she has quite an irritating personality but has a warn heart sir” I explained forcing a pleasant expression.
The officer raised his brows “I almost felt like it was my interrogation ma’am” he smirked mockingly. “I’m sorry sir” I was flustered. The officer pulled a file from a pile of files near to him.
“So shall we begin with your interrogation miss prime suspect?”
