"No… He can't have done that…" Xu Zijin muttered to herself as if to persuade herself that Fu Sinian was not such a cool-blooded man.

"Stop being an ostrich! Fu Sinian is the brains behind all these things. You love him with heart and soul but he has driven your father to a deathtrap," Liu Xin said in a cold voice. "There was a deep-seated hatred caused by blood-debt between the Xu family and the Fu family. The reason Fu Sinian came back is because he wants to take revenge on the Xu family. I told you that you should keep away from him, but you turned a deaf ear to my advice and insisted on marrying that cruel man. Now the Xu family went bankrupt and your father is in danger of death. Our family has been ruined!"

Xu Zijin's illusion crumbled. She weakly sat on the floor with a dull look in her eyes as her thoughts were all in a muddle. Liu Xin's voice reverberated in her ears again and again and every word was like a poisonous needle piercing her heart.

Liu Xin continued, "Xu Zijin, do you know why Fu Sinian can take over the Xu Consortium in such a short time? Your father gave it to him! You caused the death of Mu Anan. In order to protect you, your father used the Xu Consortium as a bargaining chip to gain concessions from Fu Sinian. Otherwise, you would have been arrested.

You told Fu Sinian everything you knew about the Xu Consortium. You gave away company secrets and the Xu Consortium incurred huge debts. Even if the operation is successful and your father is safe, he will be arrested and spend the rest of his life in prison."

Liu Xin pushed Xu Zijin aside and roared, "Get out of here! Since you have walked out on your father because of that man, you are not the member of the Xu family anymore. No matter whether Yuanshan is alive or dead, it has nothing to do with you."

Xu Zijin broke down and cried. She implored Liu Xin with tears to allow her to see her father but Liu Xin refused her firmly and asked the security guards to drive her out of the hospital.

After leaving the hospital, Xu Zijin drove to Rose Mansion at full pelt.

Mu Anan used to live in Rose Mansion with Fu Sinian. After Mu Anan's death, Fu Sinian always lived in Rose Mansion.

Xu Zijin knew that Fu Sinian hated her because he mistakenly thought that she was the person who caused Mu Anan's death. However, in fact, she had nothing to do with Mu Anan's death.

'As long as I explain clearly to Sinian, everything will be fine. We have already known each other for twenty years and been married for three years. I believe that he won't be so cruel to me,' Xu Zijin consoled herself on the way to Rose Mansion.

However, when she arrived at Rose Mansion, she was denied entrance to it.

Xu Zijin refused to leave and waited at the gate. As darkness fell, it started to rain again.

The rain went pitter-patter and the land was enveloped in a curtain of misty rain.

Suddenly, there was a powerful beam of light coming through the haze. Xu Zijin raised her head and saw Fu Sinian's car approaching.

She was dazed for a second and then madly ran over to block the car.

She anxiously banged on car door and shouted, "Sinian, open the door! Open the door!"

The driver said cautiously, "Master, it's Madam outside…"

Fu Sinian twisted his head sideways and looked at Xu Zijin who wore an anxious expression on her pale face outside the car window. His eyes darkened and he said coldly, "Let's go."

The wheel of the car glanced off her tiptoe and drove into Rose Mansion. The tall iron gate banged shut in front of Xu Zijin.

She stood in the wind and rain, shivering with cold. What Fu Sinian had done sent a chill to her heart.

The next morning, the iron gate finally opened and the car slowly drove out of the gate.

Suddenly, a figure rushed over, trying to block the car.

A sharp noise of the tyres rubbing the ground rent the air.

Xu Zijin was completely frightened with her eyes closed tight. A few seconds later, she opened her eyes and saw the car bonnet against her knees. Her legs gave out and she collapsed on the muddy ground.

Fu Sinian opened the door, got out of the car and looked down at the woman who was in an awkward situation. "Xu Zijin, if you want to kill yourself, you'd better go somewhere else to end your life. Don't dirty my car."

Xu Zijin hadn't had a good rest for a long time. After standing in the rain all night, she was totally exhausted. She struggled to get up from the puddle, stumbled to Fu Sinian, and then gripped his sleeve with her cold fingers.
