Purple lunged for the closest water bottle, and threw it at my face. I grabbed at it and managed to gulp down as much as I could.

Quietly, I replied,

“... Thanks.”

Television man laughed heartily, throwing his head back. I wasn’t sure how I felt right then, but damn if he didn’t have a nice laugh.

The meek one looked over at Purple, and offered a toothy smile. “A-And to you, my liege! M… Mistress Purple…!”

See, Purple didn’t react as badly as I did. Her eyes just widened and she looked off to the distance. I could swear that any moment now, she’d clutch at her chest in some form of disbelief.

“Oh, that’s for you to decide.” Television man laced his gloved fingers together. The meek one squirmed in his seat next to him, occasionally looking up at Purple. “Do you want to perform the oath now?”

“... Oath?” The meek one cocked his head to the side.

Television man patted his shoulder. “Yeah, the oath. You know the one.”

“I don’t.”

“Really? Huh.”
