《The Diamond Of Eve》Chapter 6: Far Plains, Further gains.

The sun's rays had laid down on the earth and its surface, the plains glowed with the morning dew and the slight fog from the air.

The moist feeling was very cold but the rays of the sun balanced it, to a very different feeling on my skin. Pleasant, but soon enough it would be high morning.

Before the night had fallen on this world we were able to catch a place to sleep at a nearby inn, at the small town we had followed from what the farmer said. I kind of feel bad, because although he had helped us, I never heard his name.

However yesterday may have been, today was weirder for me and Alissa. Somehow, we just started to help each other out because of the lack of information we have, although she still bitches about what I do, I can't go wrong, humans like her will never be satisfied.

Likewise, without any data from the info that she had told me about her dream, I kind of asked her for more details in order to understand what exactly had happened.

And from what she said, it was too vague from what her wishes were, but going more into detail the god she had spoken to had said that he can only allow a small amount of what wishes she had asked because of the lack of compatibility within the spacial relevance of her soul in correspondence with said god.

In a more easier to understand, is that her soul isn't as connected to that god in any manner. Like a circuit has difficulty connecting with what it is trying to connect with, and even if that example isn't enough, tough luck because I have no other way of telling what it is exactly.

Anyways, back onto where we are and where we are heading.

So basically, we are on our own right now. Survivability, or to strive onwards in this world is primal for us to continue living.

I had thought about this and it is just what it is, even if it is a different world, work is always around.

I had wondered about what type of work though, would it be at a local market? Or at your favorite restaurant that serves a side dish of whatever you want?

No. I was looking at my old world, in this world there is magic, and possibly swords or fighting, I also heard the old man mention demons, and distant lands worth exploring, but the only danger is the risk involved.

I'm in a new world for crying out loud. Who in their right mind wouldn't want to explore something new? Something that changes the way they live? Or maybe even something that they have been dreaming of? And truth be told, there had been some part of me that didn't want this, but there is an extremely great part of me that did.

This town that we had stayed in was a small town, it was a type of town that had basic living housing and other stuff, commercialized commodities like outposts and police headquarters which were embassies and others, didn't seem to be apparent.

There were guards but they seemed like they were drunk and too lazy to give a damn about anything. I feel that.

I mean what else is there to protect when there isn't any danger near this town?

So anyway, this particular Inn that we stayed in, regardless of the name, I asked around for more info on the next city that would be on the road and they had told me it was a ways from here.

Anyone that wanted to take the route towards the city would be best to travel by horse or carriage.

The name of this city was called Argon city, and the spokesperson at the inn mentioned something about monsters having to be in the same route direction, it would be best to be careful.

So, there's that.

Careless of what I thought about, Alissa had the idea of buying our ticket out of here instead of purchasing a horse, knowing that If we were to buy one it would cost pain to take care of it.

And the good thing is that I had noticed earlier that there had been a man with a carriage outside enter the Inn about a good while ago, I don't think he would have left so quickly.

I went ahead and walked up towards the front counter of the Inn again to ask for more info, this time about the man who had owned the carriage.

And the gist this time was that it was a traveling merchant that sold medicines.

So...Thats when I go, "Jackpot"

Alissa went ahead and asked where he was right now as the carriage seemed to be unoccupied right now at the moment. But the lady had clearly said that she could not allow any info of the client to an outsider, which caused Alissa to get into her bitchy mood, and then have me to stop her and then explain to her that it was our only "safe" way out of the town.

Understanding the situation the spokesperson then told us his room number, and we had passed towards the room to speak with him.

I knocked on the door of the front of his room. "Hello? Is there anyone in there?"

I knocked again, and again, so much so that Alissa spoke up.

"If there's no one there just bust down the door and get this over with," She said irritated. As this idiot was eager to go forward with this, I stopped.

"Hello? We are looking for a ride to the nearest city going up the main route from here. We asked the person at the counter of the Inn and they told us you would be in this room. Is there really no one here?"

I stopped to wait for a response. but sadly after waiting a while, it was best just to give up. No point in waiting though.

However, just as I was about to leave. There was the sound of creaking, and it was the door of which we had been knocking on just a few ago.

After hearing it creak, it was opening.

And upon completely opening the door, there was a man inside the wooden frame in said room.

He was rather tall and looked intelligent, he wore glasses, had a long black coat that extended to his knees, and what also was quite interesting was the curled up mustache that he had. Made for a rather unique relevance.

=============================

"Hello fellow children, My name is Rost Belfort, I am the traveling merchant you so much seek" He had a lot of etiquette for a merchant following a route, and he had a pristine way of presenting himself, went as far as to make me and Alissa a cup of tea while we sat in wooden comfortable sofas in the same room with him.

"Uh... thank you for the tea, and hello, I'm Lucas, and this is my traveling partner Alissa, we have been looking for a way to get to the city" I clearly explained the simple task, and spoke to the point, simple and clear, although maybe it wasn't as perfect as he would, its enough I guessed.

He leaned forward and narrowed his eyes in order to get a better look at my eyes. As he ruffled his mustache (which I thought was hilarious)

I tried to keep in the shits and giggles almost coming out of me, but this idiot beside me laughed her ass off.

The man pulled back as she blurted out laughing, and he gave her a glare. Until Alissa's laughter was slowly fading, she then began to notice it, and as she did, her expression changed to that of laughter, to slight confusion.

And as the man saw that, He started to laugh and point at her.

"Hahahahaha, what an impressive expression" He laughed and laughed, slowly his laugh was beginning to get to me, and then he soon started to settle down.

"haha, well, you aren't too bad, I guess you two aren't bad at all" He smiled warmly. Albeit he had a specific ideal to move forward to he went straight to the point.

"Very well then, let us get to business, you guys want to go to the closest city right?" asked Rost excitedly.

Both me and Alisson nodded in compliance with ourselves.

He pulled himself back earnestly and took off his long coat, "I will let you ride with me, but before you do, I will ask you a set of questions that I have been meaning to ask"

"Alright, but we also have some questions we want to ask too, yet as long as you are okay with it, the only thing we need is that ride and-"

Rost raised his hand with respect to allow him to speak.

"Please ask away, I wouldn't mind answering a couple of questions" He sat patiently on the sofas of the room.

I looked at Alissa and she flicked her head gesturing me to go forward with whatever I wanted to ask first.

I leaned forward holding my hands together in between my legs as I sat eagerly to ask him.

"Do you know how to use magic?" There it was, the question of the day, it was something both me and Alissa wanted to know hearing about it just made our minds tingle.

Rost had Looked at us blankly at first, but then he smiled and brought his hand up to our face.

"Something like magic can be as simple as lighting a small candle with a fire" Upon finishing that sentence with the word fire he snapped his fingers and an immediate small flame had appeared on his fingertips.

It had both me and Alissa in a state of shock and denial, but at the same time we were greatly intrigued, and we both wanted to see this.

"However, even to do something like this, one must have a good aptitude with magic on a residual scale, to read magic would be even more study, and to understand it, is purely based on experience with magic" He had clapped his hands together and upon letting his hands go, a small slight pressure of air pushed around in the room. it was like a windy breeze.

"However, I would prefer you come to look for a mentor on magic, I would teach if I could mind you, but I have no real patience to teach, my apologies" He tipped his head in a display of respect and as an apology.

"Oh please don't apologize, you have shown us enough about magic, thank you, and also, You had a question for us as well right?" I wanted him to have a chance of asking us what he wanted, as he showed us without any negative rebate.

He glanced at me and at Alissa blankly and simultaneously.

"well? Is there anything you'd like you to know?" I prodded on allowing him to have his chance at the spotlight.

"Ah? Wait, I just forgot please give this old fart a moment" He smiled showing his teeth, but while doing so, he took the teacups that he had served us with tea and put it aside on the bed of the room to clean up for later.

With a moment going by in silence, he then leaned forward staring me and Alissa sternly and narrowly in both our eyes.

"Ah, I remember now, my question was, How did you get to this world?"

As he asked that, goosebumps immediately formed all over my arms, and Alissa had quietly gasped.
