《The Diamond Of Eve》Chapter 1: Iniciation

It all came up like a blind shot.
A punch to the face, or maybe I was always getting humiliated in class, but no one did a thing.
I felt hurt, scared and worried at what was in front of me.
It was a girl.. Not just any girl though, a girl with malicious intent on hurting me.
Her name was Alissa, and she had been bullying me ever since we had met in elementary school. Ever since then she had to move out of town and I was on my own, no friends just study.
That was when I was 7 years old, and now I’m 14, honestly my timid personality is what would get the better of me.
Usually she is always hateful and negative towards everything. She has never really showed any remorse over the things that she has done, so much that people call her a ”delinquent”.
Everyday it’s the same thing, the only time i get for myself is after school.
It can be weird at times when she gives up on bullying me saying I’m boring and all but, I can tell she just hasn’t found anything creative, or at least that’s what I think.
“Hey loser, go grab me lunch from the cafeteria” Is what she would say at lunch, however no one else is around, what would happen if other people were around us?
Is she afraid to show people this true nature of herself?
“Hey! Idiot! go do what I said”
Ouch!! She had kicked me in my glorious shin! It hurt quite a bit, but obviously this girl has a leg, she was in track and field for 2 years in Middle school.
Anyways, as the normal occurance I had to go do her bidding, but now that I think about it I honestly don’t have any idea why I am actually doing what she says to do. I feel like I am doing it out of habit.

I’ve had this weird odd feeling for the last few months. The funny part is when I met with her again.
But what I don’t get is why she changed so much, she used to be a really sweet girl when we were kids, and now look at the shitty person she has become, the world can really change you when you have no control over it.
I had arrived at the Cafeteria, and there weren’t many students today there, usually because it was friday, and summer was about to start, usually not many come to school on the beginning of summer break.
Yet she still came around which surprises me, and the only reason I would come is because I want to study, I have my own dreams and accomplishments too I mean.
Once I had ordered whatever kind of sandwich she usually asks me to get which is a ham sandwich, without crust and no tomatoes and mayonnaise, (Yes, I take detailing to be one of my many pros heh) I quickly returned back to the classroom that she was at.
I walked up the stairs took a left into a hall and walked towards the last classroom door at the end of the hall which was our classroom.
Something felt odd as I slowly approached it though, not like any usual thing that I had felt. Something was gazing at me.
I kept looking back instinctively towards this suspicious feeling, but no matter how many times I turned around to look, there wasn’t anyone or anything, so I kept moving towards the classroom.
Finally reaching the classroom door and opening it, she was there looking out the window waiting for me to get there.
She noticed me as I walked in and scowled at me.
“Finally, what took you so goddamn long? You had me waiting like an idiot”.

“Ugh, Sorry, a teacher had stopped me for some important things, she asked me if you had any specific handout sheets that were unfinished”
Ah and I had forgotten to mention that I had been making so many excuses to this girl so many times that I have already been really good at lying to her without fail. Just something to mention by the way.
“Whatever, give me that”
As she had requested I had given her what she wanted, immediately she took the wrapped sandwich, tore off the plastic that she had and started to eat.
I watched her eat it all up in just moments, she wasn’t a sloppy eater, more like a quick biter.
She had almost finished until she caught me looking at her.
“What the hell are you looking at?”
Of course rough as she usually is, I turned my head away, however, when I did…
The walls and everything seemed to slightly distort out of surprise I gasp out air, causing Alissa to glance and drop her sandwich.
She got up from her seat, but she looked ready to bolt out of the room.
I didn’t really react, somehow, it was just there but this odd feeling wasn’t that bad or maybe I was just more used to this then I normally would be.
She had already tried opening the classroom door which was oddly closed since I left it open after walking in.
She looked really worried, but I felt fine, like it was another day.
The distortion in the atmosphere of the other end of the room didn’t move any closer, and if I were to describe it, it was like a translucent gel that moved everything around.
I wanted to touch it, I was feeling curious towards this phenomena.
“Dumbass! What are you doing?!”
I had zoned out for a moment and already I was about to touch the distortion, but she was still all the way from the other end of the room.
I don’t get it, why am I not panicking?
Slowly my body moved, I wasn’t in control of my hand anymore and I touched the distortion.
After that, everything in this spacial area cracked and nothing was the same anymore.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
