《Life as an Alpha-Knight》AlphaKnight?

After training for the past five months, I’ve learnt how to shoot, CQB, craft my armor and weapons, how to use my core properly, and a few life lessons. Scarlet asked our overseers if we can return to the city for a little break and continue once a month has passed. Due to pure luck, it was approved and we were sent back into the city.
“Thanks for allowing me to get a break from all that training by the way, Scarlet.”
Her face became bright red. “D-Don’t thank me… thank S-Sasha as well and the high-er ups for approving of this,” she stuttered.
“I see then thanks as well, Sasha. It really means a lot,” I said while stretching.
Sasha nodded her head and turned towards Scarlet.
“What is it?”
“I’m just wondering, why are we going back to the city and not navigate around the country side instead,” Sasha pointed out.
“Because, the city is where Scar can learn how to be more social after all. They did say we need to blend in with the locals so this is the only way how to,” Scarlet replied.
“I think this was a bad idea,” Sasha proclaimed as she lowered her eyelids.
“Don’t say… no one can see the future that accurately,” I said.
“Wrong, the Infinity clan members with the eye of Reality can see into the future quite accurately. It’s best you do some homework before we get back into training,” Sasha recommended, staring at me.
“But for now, we just have fun, okay,” Scarlet cheered.
“Right,” I smiled.
The truck came to a halt and they let us out. “Thanks for dropping us off all the way out here.”
“It’s okay, anything for a young man such as yourself. You worked hard for the last few months so it's the best we can do,” the old man said.
“Now, take care of yourself and the young girls as well,” his wife said.
“I shall, you can count on that,” I smiled and waved goodbye to them before they drove off. After placing down our things, I noticed that our place to stay could need a redesign, but it well cost us.
“Scar! Mind going to the supermarket for some snacks and food. We’re gonna have to resupply after all,” Scarlet yelled in the distance.
“I don’t mind, but can you make a list or something?” I asked.
“Already did and take Sasha with you as well!” she commanded.
I slowly turned my head towards Sasha with her usual stare into my soul look. “Okay… I’ll do that,” I said. Before leaving, I asked, “What shall I use for money?”
“Sasha is your wallet!” Scarlet shouted as she stood inside the kitchen.
“How is Sasha my wallet?” I questioned before asking, “And the list?”
“Ask your system! I already uploaded to you and Sasha,” she answered.
“Aight, I guess I’ll see you when we get back,” I shouted.
I grabbed onto the doorknob, twisted it, and left with Sasha.
“Um, Sasha, I know Scarlet said you are the wallet and all, but I also need you to be the map as well.”
“You don’t know where the supermarket is do you?”
“No, I do not…”
“Coming from the list, we shall be spending quite a bunch, although it is up to you on the choice.”
“Once the snacks haven’t expired, I would be fine.”
She nodded her head and pointed towards the city's capital.

“Is that the closest supermarket?”
“Yes, it has a large variety of eggs from different farmers and the same goes for milk and other organic substances.”
“Um before we leave… how much money do you have?”
She pulled out her purse and a huge amount of money with a platinum card stuck out and emitted its own light.
“Where did you get all of this,” I said with my eyes wide open stuck on her purse.
“Vale sponsors and also a blank cheque,” Sasha acknowledged.
“A blank cheque?” I pondered, placing my hand beneath my chin.
“If we don’t hurry, we shall miss the train to get to the supermarket,” she said before walking ahead of me.
“Hey, wait up!” I yelled, trying to catch up to her.
In the distance, Ravent’s group followed us as we walked through the crowd. “If I am correct that boy is KBN-Q, I guess you’re not going to attack them?” Dr. Terry whispered.
“No, I need to find out his intentions then I’ll go on the offensive,” Ravent answered.
“That’s nice, that you are taking a different route this time. For I don’t think the President of this country would not allow us to get off too free,” Dr. Terry replied, grinning.
“Just keep trailing them then I’ll switch with you,” Ravent said.
“Okay, we got our tickets. How long shall it be until the next train?” I asked, holding some groceries we picked up on the way.
“It should be in the next few minutes,” Sasha answered, looking at the schedule.
“I guess we shall just wait,” I sighed.
Taking a glimpse of Sasha, I noticed she hasn’t changed her clothes as much since we got here. “Hey, Sasha.”
Her eyes swayed towards me and stared at me, “Yes, Scar.”
“Have you ever thought of changing your appearance?”
“Does my default look not please you?”
“What do you mean by default?”
“How I look now,” she said, pointing at her face.
Placing my hand on my head, I began to ponder, I believe I gave her the wrong impression.
“I wasn’t talking about your beautiful face, I meant your clothes,” I said while oozing anxiety as sweat began to drip from my forehead.
Sasha looked down towards her white shirt, blue jeans, and opened toe shoes. “What clothes do you insist, I wear?” she questioned.
“Let’s get something… like um,” I fumbled, darting my eyes around looking for an answer.
My eyes peered from one advertisement to the next until I spotted an ad that had what seems to be an ideal of some sort wearing a purple dress and hat with pearly white shoes.
“Something like that!” I pointed.
“Would that sort of clothing be to your liking?”
“Yes, but that’s not what I would want for myself. I was just suggesting something for you.”
“I see,” she murmured as she kept her eyes glued to the screen.
An announcement came over the radio, “The next train shall be arriving in the next two minutes!”
“That’s our train right?” I asked.
Sasha didn’t reply due to her focusing on the screen. When the screen changed to another ad, she turned to me and said, “Yes, that is ours.”
“Great, now let’s head over.”
“After we get the other items on this list, I would search for a clothing store,” Sasha whispered while blushing.
Seeing her face bright red was adorable. It is rare to see her like this and I must say it was truly a sight to see. I would like to see the smile on her face once we get to the clothing store, I thought.

“They're taking another train into the heart of the city,” Dr. Terry radioed in to Ravent. As he stood next to the tracks with a newspaper in front of him.
“When is the next stop?” Ravent asked.
Dr. Terry looked up towards the schedule and saw where the next train would be going exactly. “District 10, that’s fairly close to where KBN-T was spotted earlier by Bug and Billy.”
“Then I’ll portal to that area until I meet up with you. There I would confront him,” Ravent said.
“Understood,” Dr. Terry answered as he tucked the newspaper away and waited for the train.
The train stopped, Dr. Terry, Sasha, and I boarded it with other civilians. Due to it being close to rush hour, the cars were packed. Sasha and I were squished together and her breasts were pushing against my back.
“Are you comfortable, Sasha?” I asked.
“Yes, but I should be the one asking that question as you are scared of large crowds,” she answered.
“Hmph… yeah, I am, but I think something else is overpowering the urge of fear, honestly.”
“And that would be?”
“Um.... I’m… not too sure… I think it must be one of the bags since it's resting on my toe,” I shuttered.
“I see, we could switch on the next stop if you like,” she suggested.
“Urgh, sure.”
When the train came to a halt, a few people got off and Sasha and I switched. “Are you comfortable, now?” she asked.
“Yeah, I feel a bit better,” I answered.
I’m kinda lying about that, but I felt like I was enjoying myself there a bit too much. It was best that we swapped.
“Next stop District 50!” the radio announced.
“That was fast.”
“Was it really?”
“Well, yeah we just got off the last stop and we're already at district 50.”
“I would explain to you why it took the train such a short time to get to our location, but that’s not important to the plot or relevant at this time,” Sasha stated as she turned herself completely around and stared at me.
“What plot?” I questioned.
She didn’t answer me instead, she continued to stare into my eyes with her usual non emotional look on her face. I sighed and thought, I just hope she loses that look when she gets a change of clothes.
We got off at district 50 and my warning system came up. “WARNING SURVEILLANCE MONITORS UP AHEAD!”
I leaned over to Sasha and asked, “How would we avoid the monitors?”
“What monitors?” she answered.
“My warning system just warned me about them,” I whispered.
“I see,” she muttered.
I began darting my head from side to side while Sasha stood there staring ahead of us. “Have you thought of anything because I don’t see the monitors, it warned me about?”
“Your warning system is me, I’m just making sure you're keeping an eye on me,” Sasha said.
“Wait, so you are the one that has been warning me about incoming fire and so forth all this time?”
“Yes, for that’s what my systems are made for,” she answered. “That’s why Scarlet let you travel with me, just in case we run into other machines such as ourselves.”
“Then… thanks for watching over me. Oh before I forget where do we go now?”
“We go right and we have to walk at least five hundred feet until we make it to the supermarket,” she stated.
“Okay and did you find any clothing stores as yet?”
“No,” she said and started to walk ahead of me again.
“Hmm,” I pondered as I followed. While we walked on the city's street, I got a glimpse of someone walking behind us. Why does that guy behind us look familiar? I pondered.
“What guy?” Sasha quickly asked, darting her head towards me.
As I nodded my head towards his location, he was already gone, and Sasha said, “You might be seeing a ghost, Scar. There is no one behind us.”
“But there was a guy behind me in a black jacket and goggles,” I pleaded.
“I saw him as well through your eyes. Just play along,” she stated through a mental link.
“Okay,” I answered through the mental link.
“We are being followed by someone, we might have seen you as suspicious since we looked anxious back there from my little message.”
“Hey, I have relied on that system throughout my training. So, of course I’ll trust it.”
“When we get into the supermarket, I shall leave you to gather the things on the list while I look for a clothing store,” she said as she walked faster.
“Hey, slow down!”
“It seems they might have caught onto me,” Dr. Terry whispered as he hid himself beside a building.
“Don’t worry, I’m close by,” Ravent said.
“Carrots were on the list and now I think about it… I don’t know which brand is best,” I grumbled as I held two different brands of carrots next to my face. “Which one would Sasha pick?” As I stood there for at least five minutes, I closed my eyes and picked one out of the bunch. I opened my eyes and saw a bright orange with a vibrant green that displays its freshness. “This is mostly quite fresh due to its colours. I just hope I made the right choice,” I nodded. I took another bag out of random as well so my successful rate of not getting my ass beaten by Scarlet can increase. “What’s next on the list?” I asked myself as I scrolled through the list.
I bumped into someone that was quite tall, I fell to the ground with my groceries shattering along the floor. As I quickly gathered them, I noticed his presence and looked up to him. “I’m so, so sorry for bumping into you.” After taking some time to recognize the person in front of me was like looking at a mirror, but slightly different. His hair was white and pulled into a ponytail at the back, his eyes were bright red and the scar on the side of his face leading into his eye. It was similar to my own, he was muscular than I was and much taller as well. “Who are you?” I asked.
“My name is Ravent, an Alpha-Knight,” he answered respectively.
“An Alpha-Knight? What’s that?”
“A group of human-type assault weapons directed by “HULK”. We make sure that no other organization abuses recovery metal,” he stated.
“Recovery metal?” I muttered before a flashback came to me. “I remember now that’s what I’m made of as well.”
“Yes, and your organization is using you as a weapon.”
“Vale isn’t using me as a weapon, they are using me as a means to help the people on Mars from this corrupt government!” I proclaimed.
“Then what is your purpose and reason to live? Other than their purpose?” he asked.
“I-I… I am not quite sure as yet on that,” I answered as I lowered my head.
“A person who has no purpose in life tends to help others to fill the void in his heart, or dedicate themselves in causing the same pain onto others.”
“I don’t want anyone else to be like me,” I muttered.
“So, you are helping people?” he questioned.
“Yes,” I replied.
“And who are those people?”
“The people of Mars…”
“But do you know that killing the people here would make your people suffer?”
“It would not for once Mr. Zone be taken care of! They shall be fine!” I shouted.
My voice echoed throughout the supermarket causing people around us to stare. Comotion began to linger as the bystanders started to gossip, I can hear it from their whispers.
“Okay, KBN-Q since that is what you believe I shall hold that faith against you, but remember if you step out of line. I’ll have to kill you myself,” Ravent started before turning around and walked away.
“How does he know my signature?” I whispered, staring at his back.
“Don’t you think that approach towards him was a bit too much? He is a kid after all, so just misguided,” Dr. Terry stated as he observed from a nearby cashier.
“Yes, he is just a kid, but he reminds me of myself. I saw something in him that I haven’t seen in anyone I’ve faced,” Ravent answered as he stood by the exit.
Dr. Terry paid for his things and walked towards the exit as well. “You mean when your village was destroyed and you were turned into what you are now?”
“Yes, and in order to keep him in check… I’ll watch over him,” Ravent smiled. “Make sure the camera's data for all the areas we have touched are erased. I wouldn’t want SHUNNF to find out about him.”
“You really took a liking to him,” Dr. Terry chuckled as he reached his hand into the plastic bag.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
