CTU in the server room
There are many servers and drives in the room that maintain and operate CTU. Paul closes the door and goes to a particular drive. He removes one of the cables that are connected behind the drive and then leaves the room.
On the second floor of the old building
Martha and Tom are in the room with their hands tied. The room has a small window fenced with iron bars. Tom stands on his toes and looks out.
"We're in the middle of nowhere," Tom says in frustration. "There is no structure here except this building."
"Don't worry, your father will come and get us out of here," Martha says.
"And how exactly will he find us, if we're in the middle of nowhere?!"
"You know your father works in a government office, he has the tools to find us," says Martha. "I believe we can get out of here."
Tom walks around the room and says, "What do these people want from us?"
"I don't know," Martha says. "But this morning your father said something had happened and that he wanted us to go to his brother, he probably knew we were in danger and he wanted us to be safe with his brother."
"What happened?" Asks Tom.
"He didn't tell me."

James enters a room looks at Lucas. Lucas holds the Device and on the table there are metal detectors and three different types of metals.
"Have you finished fixing the device?" Asks James.
"Yes, it's supposed to be working now," says Lucas.
"it'd better work," says James.
Lucas presses the blue button that turns on the device and after five seconds all the five lines on the device light green. Lucas takes the metal detector from the table and passes it over the first metal. There was no noise. Lucas passes the detector over the other two metals and still no noise.
"It works, the detector doesn't detect any metal," Lucas says.
"Great, good job," James says.
"You just have to know that because this device needs a lot of energy, its battery will only work for a few minutes," says Lucas. "You should turn it off if you don't use it."
"Okay," James says, pressing the blue button. The device is turned off.
"What about my money?" Asks Lucas.
"I already gave you half a million dollars," says James.
"Yes, and with that money I paid on the device."
"You'll get the other half when David Palmer dies," James says.
James takes the device and leaves the room.
CTU
Paul is a little nervous.
He goes to Chloe's position and says: "One of the servers is not working, can you fix it?"
"I'm working on something important now," Chloe says. "Why don't you ask Nicole to do it, she's better than me in repairing servers."
"There's a small problem on the server and I thought you could help me."
"So you can work on another server," says Chloe. "We have a lot of servers in CTU."

"I know, but the work I do now has to be done on this specific server."
"what job?"
"It's classified, I can't tell you," Paul says.
"So I can't help you."
"You've been working here for just a few weeks," Paul says. "The fact that Jack appreciates you and shares with you the information of the senior staff at CTU doesn't mean that you have the status of an employee who has been working here for years. You can't know everythingclassified that people do here. "
"All right," Chloe says reluctantly, shaking her head. "I'll fix the server for you."
Chloe gets out of the chair and leaves. Paul looks back and sees Chloe walking away. Paul waits for a few seconds and then takes out his card. He looks at it and suddenly hears: "Paul."
Paul is stressed out and his heart starts to knock. He turns and sees Chloe standing next to him. He hides the card with his hand behind his back.
"Yes," Paul says under pressure.
"I forgot to ask in which servers the problem is," says Chloe.
"Server 412," Paul says, and Chloe turns and walks away.
Paul looks at Chloe and waits. He sees that she turns left and walks out of the CTU main room, and Paul turns back to Chloe's computer, pulls the real card out of the computer and inserts the fake data card in. The two cards look the same. Paul puts the real card into his pocket and goes .

Nicole sits in her position and talks on the phone.
"You don't know," Nicole says. "Well thank you."
Nicole hangs up and sees that Tony is close to her.
"Tony," Nicole says, and Tony looks at her. "I've already called more than five military bases and none of them knows anything about the device."
Tony goes over and says, "They developed this device in a secret base so it's reasonable to assume that no one knows or doesn't want us to know details about it. I want you to focus more on your work than to find information that probably we can't find on this device."
The Server room in CTU
Chloe walks into the room and walks to the computer in the room. She types in it the number of the server: 412. In the options she presses on the connection test option. The computer says: "One of the cables is not connected to the server." Chloe walks toward server number 412. She looks behind the server's drives and sees that in one of the drives one of the cables has come out. Chloe connects the cable to the drive. She goes to the computer and sees that it says: "The server is connected to the CTU system. Chloe closes the computer and leaves the room.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
