《The Tales of YAP: The Superhero Series》CHAPTER III: BACK TO EARTH-36

Yassi Anne P. Sorento, the human being we now know as the super-heroine YAP, paused in her story to take a sip from her clear glass. She quietly admired the sweet taste of the water, rid of the pollution and chemicals that infected her home planet.
The other creature, albeit glowing fainter than before, inched closer towards her proclaimed hero, awaiting the continuation of her story. The cavern grew steadily darker as the silence prolonged, and there was the slightest disturbance in the calm atmosphere. Yassi, of course, noticed it right away.
"Is something bothering you, Karen?" Yassi asked her luminescent companion.
Karen squirmed around, internally struggling about something. The hero only waited patiently. Finally, the creature shared of her troubles.
"YAP, my hero, you have to understand... Oh, I ask dearly that you pardon the certain... physiology of my kind," Karen whimpered out. Yassi laughed with no ill intent and urged her to continue. "You see, my hero... My kind, the Luminards, have an inquisitive disposition. Must I say, we have our innate ability of honing our own curiosities, and if we master them, we become adept in asking the most significant of questions."
There was a hint of pride in the larger creature, bulbous in form and circular in structure. Yassi nodded in agreement. "I know of the capabilities of your kind, dear Karen. I believe that is why you have become the top journalist in the Galaxy Inquirer."
"Hah hah! I am honored, my hero, so honored that you know not only of my kind, but of my lowly self as well!" Karen exclaimed, her graying skin once again glowing a bright yellow. Her huge round eye, almost the size of the hero's head, blinked at the storyteller. "Then I must ask, my dear hero, for I know I shan't be sitting still for the next earth-hours if I don't get an answer... YAP, I have never heard of any of the humans you have mentioned thus far. I-I know this is your story, and I, personally, am very interested to find out more about your school life and lovely friendships! But... shall I say, is this the story of the human girl Yassi Anne, or the story of the great superhero YAP?"

The Luminard, having said her piece, shrunk back in anticipation, expecting a rebuttal, a furious complaint, or even a fierce blow upon her eye, the creature's greatest weak spot. However, not one of her predictions came true, for as vicious the rumors were about the hero, the actual girl was as kind and gentle, and would never inflict harm on a weaker being. Unless, of course, something wrong was done unto her. So, a mere act of asking a question was, to Yassi, nothing of dire consequence, hence her calm temperament.
Yassi carefully placed her cup down on the wooden table, and leaned back on her seat. Her relaxed demeanor affecting the sweating Luminard as well. When she saw the creature finally calming down, she proceeded to rid the creature of the anxieties brought by ever-looming curiosity.
"You have to understand, as well, Karen, that becoming a superhero is never an easy task. You do not simply become a hero immediately after being born. And you do not even become a hero after taking a special pill." The creature gasped at the mention of the pill, for she had heard rumors of her idol acquiring her powers from it. After a short moment, Yassi continued, "No, Karen. I believe I started to become a superhero long before I gained my powers."
Yassi almost laughed out loud when she saw Karen's excitement and shock on her bright face. She took a breath, her gaze focused at something far away as though looking straight into the distant past. "My heroic deeds started because of a complex set of circumstances and of dozens of important choices I had to make. If I hadn't met the human girl Jesta, I would never have gotten my powers. If I hadn't joined Zero's club, I would have never come to have the moral compass I now take so much pride in."

Karen nodded her head, but she still seemed to have a bit of doubts. So, to indulge her curiosities, I decided to go on with the story.
"Have you prepared yourself? For I shall continue my tale, and for your benefit, dear Karen, I will start with the very first instance I have decided to become a hero."

My Hundredth Life
I was an ordinary guy, living an ordinary life, until it happened. What we came to call the "Reality Break". Monsters started spawning in the streets, Mana flowed through our veins, Skills and Abilities were unlocked, and everyone had a Status Screen. I was living my dream, an RPG apocalypse! Until I died, that is. And woke up in a new world...where I died again. And again. With each death, a new incarnation, a new game world, and new scars upon my soul. Now, at my 99th death, I just wish it would end...but unlike in some of the worlds I have "played" in, this time my wish is not granted. *** Author's Note: This is my first 'serious' attempt at writing a story. I am hoping to turn ths into a series that I can publish to Amazon, but my life is a bit hectic right now, so I can't make any guarantees. However, I have serious reasons for writing at this point in my life, so I will do my best to provide this new twist to the LitRPG genre and keep it up for as long as possible. Thank you, to anyone who reads this. *Also, tags might change depending on how the story goes, there may be mild profanity or mild sexual content, but I have not decided yet.

Our hope lies in three young crafters. The first is William Divus, who sets out from his small village into the Dremshen Kingdom to study crafting after his father's passing. A bunch of short stories not really connected in any way (may be some references to previous ones SOMETIMES) about my favorite GF ship Dipcifica. This is my first time writing fanfic so give me a chance and please don't hate!Note: I (of course) don't own Gravity Falls characters or stories or anything like that, those belong to Alex Hirsch. I also don't own the art I use (I totally stink at drawing) and it all belongs to the creator.(Fun Fact: The Font for the cover is called 'Pacifico')
