《Eden Garter, Dragon Anomaly》Second Delay

~Hinata~
This was quite the predicament. Katrina had called her the morning after her cousin mated with Densetsu, and the news was quite dire. The Temporal Rift Protocol would need to be extended for quite a while longer at this rate, and even expanded into the base for duration of their campaign.
NOW!>
Within ten minutes, Opal had arrived in the meeting room with her and Eden. Hinata had never expected Opal to stay in her true form in public, but she was also glad for her. At the same time, she was disappointed in her.
"Ugh... what's up, Trina?" Densetsu yawned the words, possibly unaware that he was still in his loincloth. This oaf clearly had no idea what he was in for.
With a huff of annoyance, Hinata crossed her arms, looking to Katrina, "Should I be the one to tell them?"
"...Densetsu... Opal... what were you thinking!?" Katrina bellowed, her stance one of a Drill Sargeant as she approached the two.
Hinata had never seen Katrina like this. All of her intellectual, complex speaking patterns as well as her melodic voice had been replaced by a chastising leader with dark, reverberating echoes for words.
Opal was clearly fearful, as she had hidden behind her now-mate as if she were a weak-willed child who had stolen from the candy drawer at school. Densetsu was somewhat more stoic, but Hinata could sense his terror from where she stood. She knew Eden could as well, as his eyes had widened in surprise and his hand was clutched against his chest.
With a sigh, Hinata spoke, "Guildmaster, I know they made a mistake but..."
"No buts! Opal, you just... you're...." Katrina groaned the words, grasping her face in what was likely stress-induced exhasperation, "Densetsu, you knocked her up last night!"

A thud resounded in Hinata's earlobes as Opal hit the floor. Densetsu wobbled, but kept his composure enough to mutter out, "Wait, what...? Oh, dammit, the pheromones meant...!"
"Yes, it meant she was in season, you dolt! And the medication Opal bought was hormone-control, not a contraceptive!" Katrina continued her tirade, grasping Densetsu's neck fur, "Do you have any idea how much of our funds it will take for the technology to keep her alive with the condition her body is in!?"
At this moment, Hinata could sense the entire room fill with scent and sensation of pure worry and dread. Densetsu was speechless. For the first time, she had seen him completely overtaken by his fear.
Dropping Densetsu to the floor, Katrina turned to her with an expression of pleading. The melodic tone slowly returned as she spoke, "Hinata... if it is not too much to ask, could you bring Eden to the Side-Mission Hall? We are in need of money..."
Eden took her hand, flashing his usual warm smile. Drawing her into a hug, he then spoke, "We'll do all we can to help those two, right Hinata?"
"Yes, of course..."

The Court of Souls?
What do we talk about tonight?~“How about a story?”~Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one.~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons. Only power counted there and the weak were worse than cattle. A world where survival of the fittest ruled.”~Was it strong then?~“No, but the child had a power. One that made him stand between light and darkness. Nothing could escape him, so he was shunned by his people.”~ What did he do? Did he fight his fate? Did he hide his power? What was it?~“Oh, he fought. He fought a lot. And no thing could escape his power. It was something that everyone had to live with.”~So he became a hero and changed the world?~»…”~Tell me.~“Nooo, that’s not how the story goes. This isn’t a story of a noble man, doing good amidst a sea of monsters. This is a story of a demon who was… kinder than the rest.”~A kind demon? How boring.~“I think it would be better if I tell the story, so you can judge for yourself.”~So tell the story!

The Five Series - redemption
Book 1 - Redemption Three generations have passed since the last near-apocalyptic war. Civilization is beginning to thrive again at an ever increasing pace. The burden of society has been once again placed on the back of a massive robotic workforce, creating a huge divide between industrial glory, and those forced to live in its shadow. Many have stubbornly held onto the old ways of self-governance from back when the government fell, but with its return, life in Welan City is changing. Aaron, a middle-aged man, who is stuck in the rut of daily life, witnesses a murder and finds himself in trouble, love, and the middle of a highly secretive robotics project. Aaron stakes his life on helping a prototype survive, and pays for it dearly. Passionate hate, love, and indifference send life in Welan City spiraling out of control, leaving no one innocent in the end. The Five Series is, well, a series. I've completed 3 of the books so far and will finish with a fourth, maybe fifth book. Book 1 is heavy on the character development side while the following will be much more decision and consequence oriented. This story reaches into the soul of a person and the universe we live in. Some people deserve a second chance, and some do not. With that im mind, no one really ever gets what they deserve though, do they? Always tell the people you care about that you love them as often as you can, they could be gone tomorrow. Would that change if you could always bring them back? I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it. Cody

Sergeant Gonzal had a very good nose for trouble. But this time, rather than the Cloning vats, the reek of things rotting came from the Mess Hall. *** "Off the Vat" is a complete, very short novel (around 20,000 words across 7 chapters), inspired by the recloning mechanic that Sci Fi MMOs like EVE Online or The Repopulation use to explain why players respawn.
