《Ibrahim and The Magicians' Rebellion》What a Nightmare (6/6)

On the dune, Nega-Ibrahim outstretched his wand towards the mummy king, panic plastered upon his visage. The rays of his scepter dwindled as he drew nearer and was presented with the true mass of the fist winding back almost a mile away. Ibrahim reeled his wand back in sync with the mummy, both had fixated upon the sliding target.

At the same time, Cheryl clutched Ibrahim’s collar, tugging him up towards her. The living room sofa twirled into her peripheral. She flinched, reflexing to cover her head. Nedu’s muscular arm plunged into the sofa, restraining it despite the overwhelming pressure coming from the storm. The eye of the storm had drawn tighter about Ibrahim’s body accelerating its centripetal winds. It tugged at Wino’s foot, sliding him away from Ibrahim. Nedu stood poised before Cheryl, one arm restraining the couch, the other bracing the fridge. Cheryl detected cutlery swerving beneath the couch and hurling towards her. A knife skidded along the carpet, hovering towards the nape of her neck.
Cheryl retracted her palm as Nedu fought the enclosing furniture.
“You’re going to slap him?” he grunted.
“It’s the only thing that works.”
“I-bra-him is going-to-be pissed.”
“Too bad.”
She stiffened her palm midair, the hovering cutlery shot past her hand and redirected the knife at her neck. Ouch, she barked, releasing Ibrahim and inspecting her hand.

“Do it, Ibrahim!” Wino howled as he spun out towards the base of the dune, the sky inverting with the black grains of sand to occupy the upper region of his field of view.
Ibrahim indignantly slammed his wand upon the ground with a downward slice. The mummy king launched a right jab towards The Great Dune, displacing tons of air and overcoming the resistance dragging against his velocity. Nega-Ibrahim erupted stone pillars as ubiquitous as stones for the Pyramid of Giza from The Great Dune to combat the oncoming meteor. The pillars torpedo towards the impending punch yet crumpled and disintegrated against its blistering heat and immense kinetic energy. There was simply no force he could generate to compete with this blazing wrecking ball.

The mummy king’s fist pulverized The Great Dune, splattering waves of sand into the landscape with a tinge of violet streaking over the rippling surface. The waves poured over the horizon, washing away the dunes and carrying Wino off into the landscape.
“We did it!” Wino sang as the sea drifted him away.
The mummy king disintegrated into a waterfall of ruby red sand, mixing into the ripples of black grains. The hurricane approached Ibrahim as he retracted into an upright posture.
“You bet we did.” The sea overwhelmed him and washed away his body into the landscape.
Wino’s eyes flicked open. He sprung up into Nedu’s bulging pectorals in excitement.
“We did – oh! What are you doi—”
A spank clapped into the atmosphere, snagging his attention.
“What the–!?” Ibrahim barked.
Cheryl jumped back into the room, releasing him onto the couch. The ominous violet clouds swirled away, revealing the tangy orange sunset beyond The U. The furniture pieces lost their pressure as the storm faded. The fridge and couch fell onto the floor. Nedu and the gang suspiciously watched Ibrahim as he rubbed his cheek grumpily.
“What just happened?” Cheryl inquired.
“We thought you guys were stuck inside,” Nedu added.
A confident smirk emerged on Ibrahim’s face as he replied, “We won!”
He threw up his arms in excitement, leaned back onto the couch, and rested his eyes.
Wino exclaimed, “Finally! I can get some sleep.” Wino plopped onto the floor at Ibrahim’s foot.
Nedu and Cheryl glanced at one another before returning towards the pair. Like tranquilized hippopotamuses, the two snored themselves into their own precious dreams. Nedu turned back to Cheryl smiling.
“I swear these guys never change.” He pounced above the pair, planking midair and plopping on the pile.
Cheryl watched the trio fake-sleep like old friends in a restful pile. Ibrahim and Wino wore smiles in his dreams while Nedu smiled at the immersion of himself atop his friends.
A blanket draped over them, unwittingly covering Wino and Nedu’s head but leaving Ibrahim’s exposed. Cheryl spun towards Wino’s room, closed his door, made for his bed.
“Nope,” she mumbled to herself. Climbing into bed and tucking herself in. “I’m not even gonna bother anymore.”
The End.

Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
