Chapter 7: An Interview with A Young Witch Part 2
The little girl looked at me for a long time with a skeptical look and said:
"Now can you understand me?"
What the hell....! What is this! How is it possible that I started to understand the language she speaks? This is great ... this is unbelievable! It's like future cyberpunk novels when humans can download languages and skills to some electronic chips attached to the backside of their heads so they could master all these languages and skills in less than a minute. Yes, like Matrix, Neo ...the chosen one.
Wow ... but what's different here is that they use magic instead of cyberpunkish technology. Damn, this world is more amazing than what I had imagined.
The little girl snaps her fingers and told me in an upset tone
"Hey, you ... do you hear me?"
I woke up from my inner thoughts, I replied,
"Oh, I understand you now ... But how did you do this?"
Yes, I have great plans. If I knew the secret of this magical technique, I would master all the human languages and all the combat sports. Perhaps I could become the number one champion in all the ground sports .. I would be a late-blooming miracle... A Genius across all ages. Or maybe I would be a great scientist! Or…
No, No, Nope. I prefer sitting on the sofa, watching Netflix, and do nothing. Maybe I could master the Japanese language so I could watch anime directly with ease and without having to read the subtitles, Also mastering the Korean language so I could watch the romantic K-dramas when I feel like there is a black hole inside my chest due to an emotional vacancy or setback, and when my life becomes unbearable to the point that I can't stand myself, I shall learn the Chinese language so I could waste a ton of my time reading piles of cheap web novels.
The important thing is that I have to know the answer.
The little girl shared a look with the older girl as if she meant "Didn't I tell you, there is something wrong with him."
At that moment, I realized that I had uttered the wrong question, and fucked up.
but I didn't worry.
why?
Cause right now, I am a man who pretending have Amnesia.
The older girl said:
"It is a skill book which enables you to learn our spoken language. You can get it from any store? By any chance, Is this your first time seeing or hearing about it?"

I smiled hesitantly, and answered her,
"I'd be a liar if I told you that I knew about it before this moment, this is my first time seeing those magical skill books."
Fuck me. I murmured to myself.
"Yes, damn you, Khaled. Why did you lose your composure in front of that girl, damn it ... You should pretend to have amnesia since the first sentence you spoke.. Is it difficult for you to say the cheap, clichés, opening sentence: "Excuse you? Where am I? Who am I?" But what do you do instead of that: Give me a way to make those magic books ... are you a fool? "
"Yes, I'm a fool, and now can you just shut up a little bit or find a way to help me to avoid this catastrophe?"
The voice inside my head didn't answer me. Whatever!
The little girl lost her temper, and she said to the other girl:
"Didn't I tell you, Menna, He is suspicious!"
Then she turned to me and said vehemently:
"Hey, you!! Who are you? How is it possible that you are not fluent in the official Linen language which is the common language in the Linan continent? Nor the official local language within the Kingdom of Suqa? What is your relationship with the bloody Shabiha pirate Alliance?
I rebuked:
"What? Pirates? What do you mean by that? I don't know anything about what you're talking about?"
Damn.
They had questioned me from the start, and the opportunity to claim amnesia was now gone with the wind.
Well, fine. I mean, they are suspicious anyway, so if I claim having amnesia I would raise their doubts more than before.
The little girl looked at Menna, and she said with clear annoyance:
"Look. He denies it from the beginning, he's a bad guy, we shouldn't have saved him from the beginning."
Menna smiled faintly as if she couldn't control the little girl, then she said: "Hey, Sahar, let's hear his story first."
Then she directed her speech to me, saying:
"If what you say is true, that you have nothing to do with the pirates, then why do you carry the magic space rings which belong to the leaders of the bloody Shabiha pirates Alliance? And why was this sea monster chasing you?"
The little girl Sahar added in a clear warning tone:
"It is better for you not to lie? otherwise I will force you to drink the truth serum?"
I felt Chills walked through my entire body as I recalled the scenes from old films when the Nazis used the truth serum.

Damn, I'm going to be dead like a turtle if I drank this kind of serum.
I gulped hard and started to reconsider my available options.
Lying?
This is not the right answer. They'll find out I am lying in one way or another and as a matter fact... I am not good at lying in front of pretty, and glamorous girls.
Tell the truth?
This is also not the right answer. I shouldn't tell anyone the truth about me, that I come from another world, no matter who that person is.
So what is the best answer to this dilemma?
Hmm ... hmm... What to do? What to do?
"Hey, did your cat eat your tongue?"
Said little girl, Sahar, then added, directing her conversation to the other girl, Menna: "I bet you he's a bad person, and now he's trying to find a lie so that he could tell as his answer. We'd better hand him over to the nearest guard point."
I tried to ignore that little annoying girl. Why she see me as a bad person!
However, I couldn't conceal my anger, so I shouted at her,
"Hey, you! From the start, I want to tell you, I'm thankful that you saved me. But why do you insist on defining me as a bad person."
The girl answered without hesitation: "Because your possession of these magic rings is irrefutable proof that you are an accomplice pirate with the bloody Shabiha pirates Alliance ... Or perhaps, Do you want to deny your knowledge of the content of these magic rings... If it were just holding a huge sum of Gold and other riches, I would say that you are a wealthy person. But I find some disgusting things inside of it, tons Of pirates 'weapons and their filthy deathly flags, which means one thing .. that you are a pirate like them. And that these treasures and wealth are the result of your robbery and looting over the past years."
I sighed and then tried to rearrange my thoughts. That annoying little girl is right in her words; these magic rings are solid proof of my condemnation.
So what is the solution to absolve me of this charge?
Answer: To tell the truth, or to be precise, to tell the truth, that does not reveal my true identity ... In short, I must use the games of the lawyers and bending the truth for my own good.
I asked her,
"Hey, You ... Is the serum of truth has any harmful side-effects to health or causing death?"
"What?"
Asked the little girl.
I repeated:
"Is using the truth serum has any harmful side-effects to health and causing death? If it isn't harmful or may lead to death, I would prefer to use it, because what I am about to tell you will be the whole truth without equivocation and without lies, but I guarantee that you won't believe me permanently if I don't use the truth serum. "
The little girl Sahar hesitated, and said, in a strange and hesitant tone, "No, it's not as dangerous as you say."
"This is wonderful, let me drink the serum of truth until I tell you my story, and prove my innocence to both of you."
The cheeks of the two girls reddened, then Menna told me: "We will believe you. You don't have to drink the truth serum."
I didn't believe what she said. And wondered why they backed off when I said I would drink It, so I said:
"What? But I am sure you won't believe me. I insist on drinking the truth serum."
Yes, I have to insist on that, so that I could annihilate the roots of their suspicions otherwise It could come back haunting me down, and causing my own death.
The little girl Sahar murmured: "You idiot. We said we will believe you. Why do you insist on embarrassing us?"
I said in an inquiry, "What?"
Sahar said, "Nothing. I'm going to get the truth serum, but don't come and regret it later."
I gulped and said in fear: "It is not harmful. You told me that. Right?"
She smiled evilly: "Of course it is not harmful, but you may get a stone there."
"A stone, what stone?" I wondered.
I looked at her older sister, Menna, and continued, "What does she mean by that?"
Menna smiled with tension, her face became like tomato color, and she said, "Nothing. Don't ask me. Don't overthink it."
I shook my shoulders indifference, and I said, "Okay."
As long as I'm not going to die like miserable extra characters in movies that show Gestapo as they use the truth serum on spies, then it's okay to have some minor side effects.

A Broken Kingdom
After fighting a diseased ancient silver dragon, Oskar must solve a mystery that leads him halfway across the world in pursuit of answers. This story is based on a character from a tabletop roleplaying game. I realized that I'd spent quite a lot of time planning out his backstory, and decided to go ahead and write some of it down. Then I wrote more, and more, and realized that I had a lot more than any sane RPG player should write about their character...

Condemned
“The human body is a fragile thing. But the soul... The soul is malleable. Easily tainted. All it takes is one drop of blood to dye it all red.” Long ago, in a time remembered only by a few, the seven lords of Syvernia, led by the Great Hero Ludwig, ended the Great Calamity that plagued humanity for as long as time itself. It was the dawn of a new age of man. . . until the thirst for more poisoned the new lords. Slowly, the thread that held humanity together loosened and a thick haze consumed the lands between. Mysterious vanishings, supernatural forces, and silence warns of a looming threat inside the coat of fog. Though the struggle of the realms did not interest Leor, for he was condemned as a Purblight, until he took a seemingly simple job: escort Alden to Lightendale and collect the handsome reward, a reward that would let him live the rest of his life with ease. But it’s never that simple, especially for someone who denounced the Gods. All his life, death followed Leor everywhere he went, cutting down his friends and family. When his first love died at the hands of an agent of light, he was prepared to throw everything away until a mysterious voice promised him a chance for retribution and a chance to bring her back by completing the seven trials. Thrown into the realm's struggle against the approaching haze and themselves, will Leor, a Purblight and an acquaintance of tragedy, use the very power he disdains to accomplish his goals? This is the rewrite of my novel: Condemned; I changed it to past tense and added/ took out some ideas from the original. This is essentially the first draft since I'm writing as I go. Also, there might be or might not be Gore, Sexual, or Traumatizing content. I only put it there for a disclaimer in case I want to add it. I have no set release schedule yet, but I'll try to post once every 2 week. Thanks for your patience.
