《Human Hunter》Chapter Eight: Plans Change

Our group of human killers all stood on the side of Human Hunter's aircraft. Though instead of killing humans, this time they were preparing to kill another species. Human Hunter and Halt were on the far left, beside the drivers seat, followed by Aurora, Benson, and Aria.
"I know this will work!" Benson yelled, taking his glasses off for a second. "I know that it will, because H.H. has never let us down! Not once!"
Aria had her own words to say about her caretaker. "I've been with Human Hunter for a few years now.. and he's treated me like family more than anyone else has in my life. As much as I make it seem like I doubt him.. I don't."
Touching her shoulder, Benson smiled. "I think that may be the nicest thing you've said in a while."
"Yeah, and it won't happen again if you don't shut up about it!"
The wind blew against everyone, and caused their clothing to wave.
Aurora looked to his left, at Human Hunter. "Well, they're definitely ready." He gestured towards Aria and Benson, "The only question now is.. are you?"
Halt barked on Human Hunter's shoulder, who payed no mind to it. He unbuckled the parachute from his back, allowing it to fall to the ground below. "Yeah. I am. Time to teach the Sapients who they've picked a fight with."
Everyone jumped. Aria and Benson activated their parachutes, grabbing the attention of both staff users within the gates. From behind, Human Hunter, who jumped without Halt a few seconds later, grappled onto one, forcing its mouth open. Aurora did the same. This was Aria and Benson's cue, and they definitely delivered. Tossing the powerful explosives given to them by Human Hunter down the staff user's throats, killing them both once the explosion occurred.
"Haha! Step one of three has been completed!" Benson triumphantly yelled. "Now onwards to-.." something then.. went horribly wrong.
Benson was stabbed through the chest mid air. He had not yet descended fully from his parachute. One of the opposing Sapients had taken advantage of this, throwing his weapon through the back, and out the chest of Benson.
Aria looked over in horror, her eyes grew wide, and she screamed.
Blood dripped down Benson's soaked shirt. Each drop for some reason sounded incredibly loud each time it splattered across the ground below.

"Ack! This is not good Human Hunter! What is it that you are.. um.. H-Human Hunter..?" Aurora looked at Human Hunter, and noticed that he had begun shaking.
While Aria was busy freaking out, a Sapient tried to do to her as was done to Benson. It threw the blade it carried towards her body.. but the sword was stopped in its tracks. Human Hunter grabbed it with his chain, and in one concrete motion, he did a 360 spin, torpedoing the Sapients own weapon back in its direction.
"Wait where did he-.. my word that young man is fast!" Aurora was impressed with how Human Hunter almost instantaneously charged forward to save Aria.
The blade thrusted through the Sapient's face. One of its comrades who stood nearby, looked over at its dead brethren. That was the last thing he saw. Human Hunter was over there in an instant, and brutally tore it in half with his bare hands. Bensons injury had lit a raging fire within him.
Aria continued to stare. That was all she could do at this point, fighting was out of the question following the traumatic occurrence. Struggling to move, Benson managed to lift his head up slightly. He chuckled a bit, which spewed out blood.
"I-I will be fine.. Aria. I still have to save you one of these d-days.. don't you remember..?" He made a subtle thumbs up. His arm was too weak to gesture normally.
She burst into tears. "I have to save you first you fucking moron!" She hollered between coughs and sniffles.
Grabbing her katana, Aria cut her parachute. She jumped over to Benson and grabbed him, cutting his parachute too. Both teens landed onto the ground below. Growling and bawling at the same time, Aria did everything in her power to defend Benson.
Every second that ticked by resulted in the death of another Sapient. Human Hunter no longer needed to use the explosive strategy on them now that he was in a berserker like state. He sliced, tore, and shredded his way through anyone he sensed nearby.
Aurora did some battling of his own. He swiftly slithered around the battlefield, quickly planting explosive after explosive into the enemies mouths.
Human Hunter and Aurora both eventually met up next to Aria and Benson. Aria was beaten up a bit from her defensive strategy since she was unable to actually damage her current foes. All three combined to form a complete line of defense for Benson. None of the Sapients stood a chance at injuring him further. Anyone who approached the trio were met with an unpleasant demise.

After a while, every last Sapient was whittled down except for a few. This meant that the ground monster would be coming up momentarily.
"Shall we let you take care of the rest of things here Human Hunter?" Aurora asked.
Human Hunter nodded, not saying a word. Aurora took both Aria and Benson out of the area. Once finishing off the last of the above ground Sapients.. the land began to shake. Putting his weapons away, and shifting his feet, Human Hunter was ready.
It happened. The ground monster, Sapient, or whatever it was rose up.. or it tried to at least. Still in a rage, Human Hunter gripped onto one end of its mouth, partially holding down the ginormous creature. The momentum from the monstrosity's other side ended up flipping it upside down.
Instead of holding its mouth from above the creature, Human Hunter was now below it. He stood on the earths surface, however he was surrounded by the inside of this thing's mouth.
Human Hunter looked up. Seeing no other way out, he pushed his feet against the terrain, rocketing himself upwards.
Aurora watched from afar as Aria held Benson close by. "C'mon you maniac, you can take this thing out.." he nervously said to himself.
Midway through its body, Human Hunter stabbed his blade deep within the flesh of the monster.
Glaring, Human Hunter opened his mouth, and spoke for the first time in his berserker mode. "YOU WASTE OF FLESH. OUT OF EVERYONE I'VE OFFED IN MY LIFE, KILLING YOU IS GOING TO FEEL THE BEST!" His sword slashed alongside the creature's insides, cutting it open. "Hurt someone that means something to me.. AND YOU ALL SUFFER." He blasted through the top of, what appeared to be a ground Sapient's head, instantly killing it. It fell to the floor, sending vibrations throughout the surrounding area.
The blood covered Human Hunter firmly landed next to the ground monster, breathing heavily. The impact kicked a bit of dust up from his boots. Aurora slithered all the way over to him. "Ahahah! You've done it! The Sapient's stronger forces have been thwarted! Bravo! We now know exactly how to take out these three specific kind-.."
"We need to get out of here to heal Benson, now." Human Hunter interrupted. He stomped towards where Benson and Aria lied.
"Now hold on a minute! You do realize that we've just eliminated the defenses in front of what's inherently the fountain of youth!"
"Yeah?! And who gives a shit?? It sure as hell isn't me because if Benson's dead he'll never get to see the world the way it's supposed to be! The way I promised him he'd get to see it! So if that's all you care about, then go frolic around in the stupid thing! But me? I'm going to go save my family!"
Aurora stood there, shocked. He had never in his entire life seen Human Hunter like this.
Human Hunter only made it a few steps though. Out of seemingly nowhere, a single Sapient member, one who looked far more advanced than any of the others seen up to this point, knocked Human Hunter to the ground with a single kick. He crossed his arms, and watched Human Hunter pull himself up.
"Gullible fool." The powerful Sapient said. "Did you seriously think that I, Malent, Lord of the Sapient race, wouldn't have expected you to arrive here? One of the few logical places for Sapients to gather? This was a trap set for you and your allies. I humbly thank you for taking the bait so easily."
"L-Lord of the Sapient race..? M-Malent..?" Other than that, Aurora was speechless in regards to what he was witnessing. Of all his years of studying, and attempting to comprehend who the Sapients were, he had not once heard such a name.
Malent glanced over at Aurora for a second, before returning his eyes to Human Hunter. "That's correct. And I have come here to personally take care of each and every single one of you myself. Prepare for the ultimate display of devastation. What you've seen from our race previously is nothing compared to what I'm about to unleash."
With Aria tending to Benson, and Aurora locked in a state of complete shock, it was up to Human Hunter now to single handedly take on the leader of the entire Sapient race.
