A dream:
You are staring out over the water watching the coast get further away. you can see yourself sitting on a reed mesh with your feet dangling into the water. You can feel the mat of plant fibers lifting and dropping slightly with the wavetops. You look around and there are several children running around on the grasslike texture of surface of this “ship” maybe its a ship. They seem to be chasing each other around in some kind of game. You can feel yourself stand up and as you do you can see that you stand at the same height as them. You can feel your body take off in a sprint and soon you are there with them. A couple of the children have a braided cord in one hand about half the length of their body, decorated with small bits of colored fabric woven into it and seems to making an effort to run away from the others. You can feel your feet impacting the soft flooring that makes up this structure as you take off in full stride after a boy who seems from your perspective to be a couple inches shorter than you. It isn’t long before you have caught up to him and are able to grab ahold of the cord and full it free of his hand as he is still attempting to get away, sending him rolling onto his back and side with the force of it being pulled free of his hand. You look around and you see the attention of several of the other children shift to you. It seems you are the quarry now. You take off running in between a few of the structures that stand on this mat of reeds and moss. You turn a corner quickly and you feel your body quickly come to a halt, it feels like you have run into something fairly solid. You look up and there is a thin spindly tall figure in front of you, pail gold yellow skin and tall, very tall from your perspective, thin narrow eyes peer down at you, set in deep wrinkles. This figure has long pointed ears that seem point back and up away from its head. It has two arms and leg and looks vaugly human, well besides the height and ears, and some of the facial features. To you the ears seems to stick out as its most prominent feature as they appear to protrude several inches from the creatures head and come to long thin points. It doesn’t appear that you actually collided with the creature as it doesn’t seem to have recoiled in the same way you did but instead it seems that you stopped short of it by a foot or two. You get up and start to rub your shoulder, you look and it is scuffed. You definitely came into contact with something but if it wasn’t this person then what was it? The creature tilts its head slightly one way then the other and a wry smile seems to spread across the wrinkled face. The other children who were giving chase come around the corner and they all halt before making it to you. They all seem to stop in their tracks at the appearance of the creature. It reaches down and grabs the cord from the ground and picks it up. It appears to be holding it out to you. You grab ahold of the other end of the cord where the second knot is and again the being smiles. You start to pull vigorously against it and while struggle as you might the figure standing there seems to be putting no effort into it from his side and yet it has not budged even the smallest visible amount. After a minute or more you can feel the muscles of your small body starting to tire. The burn in your limbs is starting to become o’ so real. This tall figure seems unmoved as ever and yet the smile has not left its face. You cease your struggle and almost as soon as you do it releases the rope and bows its head slightly. The cord falls limp in your hand and you can see a sense of confusion on the faces of the other children that are gathered around. You turn away from the creature as if you are gonna move off and look back at it, it has not moved but is still standing there just watching you. The other kids don’t know how to take it either and they are all just kind of dumbstruck at what happened. This is your chance you take off right through the group and back between the buildings to where the larger open area where you began this little chase in the first place. After a second the group realizes that you have taken advantage of the situation and quickly start to give chase. You can feel your heart pounding as your pace picks up into a full run in the direction of the large group of children up ahead.
