《Dreams of the Aasimar Cleric》White of Bone and Red of Flame

A dream:
As your vision begins to fade back in from the flashes of black and white that have once again consumed your perception, all around you all you can feel is a stifling heat. All around there is darkness only lit by flickers of flame the shadows on the wall dance in concert with the flame. You look around and begin to take in the surroundings, you are barefoot and the floor that seems to be made of something of a stone hardness and roughness burns your bare feet with every step. As you scan around you see your hands in front of you, they are bound together with a rope going from them being pulled by something in front of you. You glance left and right and you pillars of natural stone from the floor to ceiling, the rock here seems a deep red you can not be sure if it is the color of the stone itself or whatever substance appears to be coated or splashed on it.
You turn to the other side and there is a kind of amorphous blob moving along the ground, it consists of a greyed out flesh tone that is appears to just be sliding along the ground, as you watch it you see what appears to be a human face on the side of it and as it rolls along the side of the thing the eyes open and it appears to be looking at you, the mouth opens and words come out of the disfigured form, you do not understand what it is saying you are not sure if it is even talking to you or not. The face then proceeds along the edge of the blob as if were stuck to the side of a rolling ball.
You look in front of you at what has been dragging you, you see white bone, illuminated in the red flicker of the native flame that you have noticed burning on some portions of the walls here as you have walked through here. This thing that seems to have you bound and following it is made entirely of bone, articulated together and walking on its own, the bone seems to link together into solid limbs that still bend at joints that don't seem to appear in the bone. The creature has a heavy forward lean and the rope leading from your hands leads to its own long almost talloned fingers, the tips of which are stained a dark crimson or black color, you are not sure in this red flame light if it is simply a trick of the light or not. It has what appears to be a long whip like tail made of segments of bone that appear split into pieces like that of a spine. The tail goes from a thick attachment at the base of the creatures back to a thin whip only a few inches wide before widening out to a long wide almost club like end with what appears to you to be like a long blade made of bone on the end of it along with several bone spines like the points of a macehead.

The frame of the creature looks almost emaciated the bone white membrane covering it shrunken tightly around the pelvis stuck tightly to the spine before widening to the ribs. They too shown very definitely through to where you were almost sure that perhaps they didn't even have anything covering them and perhaps you were seeing the ribs themselves, the creature at its head height stood several feet taller that you and it's tail whipped back and forth menacingly as it dragged you behind it. An elongated skull of the same white bone sits at the top of the frame, solid red unmoving eyes set in the sockets without and flesh to cover them.
The creature also has what appears to be wings, but transparent and webbed like that of a beetle or dragonfly, two maybe three sets in total, it is hard to tell as they spring out of the creatures twisted back in an almost random manner. They flutter slightly as the creature moves but it doesn't appear it is currently making any effort to currently fly.
You look around and see many other forms peering at you from the near darkness of the corners of the natural stone room, it seems to expand into forever only separated by the stalagmite and stalactite columns. You also gain so sense for where or even if there is a ceiling but instead only darkness greets you when you look up. The creature before you seems to take no notice of your steps or your curiosity about this place. It only continues plodding along, its pace because of its long legs is greater than yours and you find yourself stepping quickly to avoid being pulled over by the large amount of tension whatever it is has been applying to the rope. The air hear is hard to breath and seems to be filled with an awful constant smell of smoke and rot and all other forms of filth, this in combination with the heat makes it feel as if every breath itself burns as you both breath in and out. The creature comes to a stop and you in turn come to a stop behind it.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
