《Dreams of the Aasimar Cleric》Darkness Spreads Across the Sand

A dream:
You see a woman, clothed in deep purple robes, metal plate armor peaking out from the edges of it. You have seen her before in a dream. She is older now then whey you saw here before killing men and watching their blood stain the marble floors. Splashes of grey hair at the temples and a few more wrinkles that before have done nothing to dim the fire that still burns in her eyes the look of stern determination in her brow. She walked at the head of a line of people other men and women in robes, a handful of men in armor with purple accents and tassels but most of those behind her wear robes of white and other softer colors. They seem to stretch out some distance behind her. You can see her walking steadily towards whatever her objective is. The others behind her besides those in armor seem less certain about their direction, or their destination. The path they walk seems to be not more at this point than a chosen direction through the sand. As each armored and unarmored foot alike stomps down you can see more and more dust fill the air around them.
She steps between the feet of two large stone statues, they appear to have the body of men but their faces appear to wear some kind of large mask, with a long snout and pointed upright ears sitting near the top of the head. A cloth hood is carved to cover the top and sides of the head and mask.
Each of them holds a long scepter in one hand each with the scepter held on the outside of the path. As she passes through them the ground turns into a stone path that seems to come out of the sand and continuing forward. The armored entourage narrow their marching formation as to stay on the path itself and as well all those following behind do the same. In the sand on either side you can see figures appear to rise up out of the sand. Ghastly incorporeal forms coming up from the sand itself. These figures seem to stay where they rise and seem only to reach and grasp at those on the path.

The female figure in the lead pays no mind to them continuing on quickly to her intended place. More and more those that follow begin to look back and forth at each other and a kind of fear seems to take hold of them. They continue to follow her and her group of armored men but with even less intent than they had held before, each of them starting to push themselves into a greater concentration in the center of the path.
They pass through another set of large stone statues with the same masked figures, these statues easily several times the height of any of those walking the path. These held not scepters but a sort of curved sword in the hand to the outside of the path while the other hand was held up and open the palm facing out. As the bulk of the group came to pass these statues some of them came to a stop and only continued onward with the prodding of those behind them.
They came through a third set and fourth set of statues before reaching what appeared to be their destination, as you looked around you can see two large pillars of stone, with four sides and a point at the top, they appeared to be covered in carvings most of which had been worn away by the sand and wind. The group came to a stop and only the woman and her guards continued there was a large plaza made of stone with something in the middle. As she approached several figures appeared from no where. Each of them in black clothes with masks on their faces matching that of the statues they had passed.
One of them in the center that held in his hand the same long scepter that the first set of statues held holds up his hand. The woman comes to a stop and her men behind her too.

You hear her utter something to them, in a very firm matter of fact manner, to the masked figures and loud enough that the bulk of those following hear it too.
The masked figure waves his hand in a sort of elongated bow and lowers his head for a moment without as much as a word or sound. He motions to the others and they move to the center of the plaza. You can now see a large section of cloth seems to be covering something. You can't tell what it is that it is covering but you can see a rough outline of it through the thin cloth layer. Several points pushing the cloth up with one large point in the center. The shape seems very inorganic and man made with straight lines and sharp corners. With another wordless motion the masked figures begin to grab the corners of the cloth. You see a sort of shimmer come off them, as if they are using some kind of magic. You do not recognize what spell they are casting if they are casting anything at all. The first masked figure pushes the scepter high into the air and begins to speak, you do not recognize the language but you can tell from its rhythm and tone it is almost certainly some kind of incantation. He waves the scepter back and forth as he continues to chant. The sky changes from a soft blue into a ever darkening amber. None in the plaza seem to react to this change, however those still on the path begin to move and shift uneasily. One of them not much more than a teenager makes a break and begins to run back down the path in the direction they came. He turns and looks over his shoulder at the group and with a single mistep his foot lands in the sand. No sooner does it make contact with the sand than one of the ghastly figures rises up and engulfs him. His body drops to the sand as the figure seems to pull another spectral version of himself from the physical one. The figure then appears to start swallowing the spectral form of the young man. The main group on the plaza do not take notice of the event but continue. The chanting figure now shrouded in a near black light filtering through the amber sky.
You wake.

A quest that just might end up changing the fate of the entire world. ————————————————————————————————————- What do readers say about it? ————————————————————————————————————- "Aethernea is my absolute favorite read on wattpad, I love it as much as I love Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments. You have such an amazing way to make the words flow and unbelievable descriptions. Unique characters and a great story line. All the small clues and mystery in the humor and fantasy just makes the book perfect in my opinion. I read all chapters in two days! Less than 48 hours even! I'm REALLY looking forward to the next update, the world of Aethernea is so deep and well thought out, it's beautiful and magical. God I can't believe how creative you are, so many small details with so many families and stories everywhere. Purely fantastical, I admire you." - astro-logical from Wattpad "I love love love Aethernea so much! It is amazing how you created this new world with different creatures, magics, looks, illnesses, and evil! I was blown away by your explanation of the Mana pools and how to weave magic! Simply stunning really! You are one of my favorite authors and Wattpad and I am so glad I stumbled upon Aethernea because it is worth all of my time reading!" - Adriana_V_Blade from Wattpad "I absolutely am loving Aethernea so far. I am certain you belong in the ranks among J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Suzane Collinings, and many more great and wonderful authors. You opened up a whole new world for me, which only a few great authors have accomplished. While it's true I am pulled into each and every book, few are able to capture me to the point of inescapability. Though, somehow, you have managed this feat. I thank you for this and more! You are a wonderful author and can't wait for more to come!" - daughterofpercabeth7 from Wattpad "WOW! just caught Aethernea in gravity tales! Just when I was getting tired of most xianxia novels this appears and completely blows my mind! I really like the depth and the humorous touch you give the characters and it seems you have the storyline well thought out since you are always hinting about things in the past and the future. It has been such an enjoyable experience that I couldn't stop reading, finishing it in just one day and laughing my way through most of the episodes. But what keeps me so excited for what's coming is the magic system and the professions of the world you are creating. The magic mechanics have such a huge potential! They are simple but at the same time they open so many possibilities. Even though we still only understand the basics of transmutation and augmentation, I expect them to enable fights where there is need of quick thinking and skill, and not just brainless overpower of every opponent. In a way this makes me reminiscent about The Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson, which are one of my favorite series ever. The thing that sets Mistborn apart from any other series is that the mechanics are so well thought out that they could be used to create a super cool triple A video game and I cannot help but hope Aethernea reaches the same level or even surpass it. I really think it has that potential. Really hope this series gets the attention it deserves. As for me, Thursdays and Sundays just got a whole more exciting! =)" - AlexMLion "Your writing is fantastic and riveting, the chapters and character flow so smooth, and it captivates the reader with the many twist and turns that tricks one mind into thinking this is about to happen, when suddenly the exact opposite happens. You truly are in inspirational writer with a brilliant mind that can see and put words into chapters and into this one truly awesome book. Thank you!" - AshleyStaar from Wattpad "I loved this story, such detailed description and accurate words, both Kiel and Elaru completely caught my attention, your writing style is just beautiful and the plot is astounding and it's just the first episode! This kind of fantasy stories are my favourite, it has a lot of magic in it, rivalry and sense of humour." - BlackWhiteD from Wattpad
