《Dreams of the Aasimar Cleric》The City Burns pt.2

A dream:
You are standing in front of a stone building with the large golden sunburst and stringed instrument, this symbol you recognize as more familiar now, it has come up a few times in other dreams. The ground littered with bodies and filling with blood you start to proceed up the wide road towards what you can assume is the center of the city, where the buildings start to get larger and larger. As you continue down the road you can see the buildings starting to get taller as well as having more decorations. Some of the building are more than simple stone they are colored, they are as it looks to you, they are painted white and then have images painted on over that layer. They are images of scenes of all kinds of different sorts, they are done in heavy reds and soft blues. They depict not only scenes from everyday life but also some that look like battles or maybe historical or mythological scenes. As you look into the houses and buildings as you pass you can see fine cloth covered furnitures and long couches and walls that appear to have pictures on them, not painted but instead they look like maybe they are made up of lots of little pieces of something. Fire pours out of the windows and doors of about every third building, the black smoke from all of these seems to be gathering together into a single black pillar, pushing into the sky. There is screaming up ahead, a woman screaming, her voice piercing into your ears. There is sounds of much commotion, you can hear voices speaking or yelling in a language that you don't understand. The voices sound human enough but what they are saying you have no idea. The scream suddenly cut silent.

You continue up the road as you do the stones of the road itself start to fit together better and better up ahead they appear almost seamless, there is small troughs on each side of the road itself. The houses themselves have small bridges almost it seems that go over these troughs that seem to lead to holes that lead down that seems manufactured. The bodies that litter the street seem to be dressed in more and more ornate ways. The clothes becoming more and more brightly colored and the jewelry that is on the bodies seems more and more ornate and having more and more semiprecious stones.
It is obvious some kind of great slaughter has occurred here, It seems like most of these people too were killed while running away, with large slashes across the back and shoulders. There are some instances where it looks like people may have fought back some with improvised weapons, table legs for weapons and tabletops used as shields. It appears that some people may have decided to barricade themselves in their houses only to have the houses themselves set on fire or have the doors broken down anyways.
Up ahead is a series of huge buildings, you have never seen the like in scale, the outside is a series of pillars that seems to go 30-40 feet up that hold up what appears to be a large stone roof with a sloped top. You can't imagine how these buildings could have been built without the use of magic. But who could afford to use magic so casually. Beyond the pillars a large stone wall with doors set in it. You can see only one set of doors on this side of the building and only a handful of small windows. The building is not painted but instead the stone itself is polished smooth in order to show off the quality of the stone used in construction. The pillars themselves look like they may be one solid piece. Such a thing would be too heavy to move by hand or even with animals. You can see movement up ahead in what looks like it might be a doorway in one of the buildings up ahead.

Large grey skinned humanoids, seem to be milling about inside the doorway, wearing rough leather and metal armor, carrying weapons made out of black iron in every case it appears the weapons are now stained with blood. One of them stops, its head picks up a bit and it then comes over to the door way, it appears to be listening closely to something or maybe sniffing the air. It then sticks its head out of the door and looks around. Large teeth protrude through the lip out of the lower jaw. It wears a simple metal skullcap, a chest piece made of metal bound over leather. It carries a large rough axe in one hand and a shield in the other. It carries itself like in a very martial manner, sticking its head out gingerly snapping his head one way then the other, then quickly pulling its head back inside before stepping out entirely. It moves along the side of the building keeping its shield up and ready and chokes up on the axe being ready for whatever might be around the corner of the building. It steps around all at once and roars. You can hear a small squeal and rapid light footsteps and the large figure takes off around the corner obviously giving chase to whoever it was that had been there.
You wake.

The Crisis on Planet 9
Welcome to the dream colony Planet 9, where the streets are stained by blood and the buildings are filled with human remains. The creatures roaming among the abandoned cars and flying vehicles resemble almost to perfection the mindless cannibalistic zombies born from the fictional nightmares of mankind. The cities were built in the retro style of the 21st century, but the technology of the 24th century is ever present, mostly within the bodies of those mortally challenged monstrosities. After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Originally, they were meant to heal them and help them access the tech around them, but now they were the origin of this disaster. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them. A young teacher at the local Resonance High, foolish and naive in his own way, but now driven by the Sapient AI in the nanobots inside his body to hunt down other Nano-Z and learn how to survive. For now, his only goal is to become strong enough and rejoin his students and fellow colleagues, foolishly hoping to somehow be able to get back to the time when the undead did not rule the streets. Will Kardian be able to survive in this new savage world or will his naive outlook lead him to a dead end? Volume 1 can be bought on Amazon: Resonance High
