《Death Game》Chapter 1

“ HAAAAA HWWOOO …. HAAAAAA HWOOOO”
SFX: deep breathing.
'Run… I need to run… i need to stay alive.’
“AAAAAHHHH”
I got up with difficulty while catching my abdomen.
My sweater was dyed red. I had scars all over my body.
My vision is blurring out.
Woooooop - wooooooop.
SFX: Police car.
The walls around me look dark and the road seems narrow. I tried to use my legs but my legs are giving out. I felt tired and didn't have the energy to run so I just walked. My head hurt.
Chhrr plop…. Chrrr plop…
SFX: walking in shallow water
I lost track of time. These small alleys were like a maze. The police that were following probably lost me. I couldn't hear the sirens anymore.
Maybe it was because they lost me or maybe it was because I couldn't hear properly.
I took a turn again, I don't know how many times I had done that. I lost power at this moment. My legs gave out.
I got to the wall with great difficulty and supported my back on the wall. My abdomen hurt.
My vision was blacking out. For some reason I started recalling my childhood. That darkness, the loneliness. I remember getting scouted and being used as a tool in war. Those were painful times…. I don't even want to think about it.
They say that when one dies, they experience whatever had happened to them in there life like watching movie. All of it happens in just an instant.
'Am I dying?’
My body was giving out and negative thoughts flooded my brain.
'is it finally time?’
My eyes were dull looking and looked like I wanted to rest.
Rest for a long amount of time…..
But I saw a face in my memories. A beautiful face. Blonde hair and sparkling eyes.

'hahaha’.
Her voice was like music to my ears. It made me want to sleep more.
'Don't you want a farmhouse James? We can have cattle, pets and plant trees. It would be wonderful.’
'Don't know… maybe?’
'Hahahaha… you're always like that.’
I opened my my eyes. There was a light sparkle in them.
'I can't die not yet. Not like this.’
I looked around and found out that this alley was very secluded. The alley was filled with blood and there were scars and deep depressions on the ground and walls.
Although I was surprised by the blood, I didn't have any time to think about it, plus it was not like I had never seen blood before.
I looked around a little and found a body on the ground.
I had to stop the blood that was coming out from my abdomen or I would die very soon.
I tried to stand up but my legs would not budge.
“UUUUUGHHH”
I couldn't reach that body. I could only crawl to it with difficulty. I searched it's pockets and found a lighter.
There was also a safety pin with him. I took both the items.
Again I had to open my sweater which had a zipper and remove my T-shirt. It took some time for it.
I took the lighter and tried to light it but it wouldn't work. I tried and tried and tried and after a few more times it finally lit up.
I was shot with a bullet so I had to pull it out. I bought the fire close to my abdomen.
“AARGH”.
I was already feeling weak so it stung quite a bit.
After some time it lit off on its own. I couldn't waste the time I had spent on heating my abdomen so I just threw the lighter and took the safety pin.

My body was well built and was hard so the bullet hadn't penetrated too deep inside.
I tried to remove it out with the safety pin but it didn't seem to be working. My hand were shaking and my face was distorted I tried to control the pain.
Finally after some time I had some success. I tried a little more and the bullet had finally shown itself a little.
I just took the bullet out with my hands after that.
It wasn't very safe to remove a bullet out like this but I had no choice.
“HWAAA HOOOO….. HWAAA HOOO”.
My head and back were sweating like crazy. My breathing was erratic and the pain was hellish.
I looked at the man next to me and tore his shirt open and used it like a bandage.
I searched the man again but I didn't find anything valuable except his wallet.
He had a bloody hole in his chest and I was sure he was dead. I don't care how It happened but I want to get out of here somehow.
I looked at his hands, there was some black material on it.
I touched my hand but I took it back hurriedly.
“What it is this he has a pulse?! How can it be? His heart isn't even present!”
I was shocked and looked at the black material in his hands. I touched it and tried to take it from his hands but it looked like it was attached to him like glue.
“Aaaahhhh”
I applied more force and finally took it out.
With the rebound force I fell on my back.
I felt pain from my abdomen again and then looked at the black material in my hands. It looked semi solid but it wouldn't get of my hand.
I tried shaking it off but it still stuck like glue to my hand.
“What the hell is this? Ughhh!”
Suddenly it started growing and spread all over my body.
“What us going on?! Damn! Get off!!”
I tried getting it off but it didn't work. It got to my chest and opened my skin. My chest opened by that strange thing as if a sharp knife had slit it open.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!”

The Arcane Gunslinger
A lazy celestial being's mistake leads to Sergeant William Remington, a decorated member of the Coalition Marines, to be placed into a new body. His old life aboard the Valkyrie, an interstellar destroyer has also been replaced as he finds his new body in an unknown world. Where he learns of magic, skills, the system, helhorses, and slinging lead with ancient revolvers. Initially, he is skeptical of his new norm but the desire to survive leads him to try to earn a living while he figures out what just happened to his life. He's a fighter but far from the elite, a grunt with some experience. But what better way than to fall back to what he's familiar with, weapons and going after criminals and rebels. With the added challenges of monsters. This is my first Litrpg writing. It's a wild west fantasy setting with the MC taking a role as a gun-slinging bounty hunter in a world of magic and monsters. Hope you enjoy it. UPDATES AT 3PM EST ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS! Warning. The story has a slow start because I'm trying to keep my MC realistic. It takes him some time to adjust to his new surroundings, start to make some friends, and really get into the swing of it. I kind of think it's dumb when an isekai's MC manages to blink twice and suddenly adapts to their new world without any sort of struggle or learning period. So not doing that but don't worry Will may be confused and a bit unfocused at first but he'll grow into his own. Also using it to practice my digital artwork... which is far from par but improving. Keep an eye on author notes for maps and depictions of monsters and characters.
