《Mythical Legion of Hades》Book 1 Chapter 7 Introduction

Mikael somberly looked out his window on to the party below. Deep in thought he went to his cabin library. The room was filled with hundreds of books and one could see they were no ordinary copies. Some were ordained with jewels, exotic covers and unknown scriptures, they all resonated ancient times and just their very appearance showed how valuable they were.
"She must be from Caria" mumbled MIkeal "just how did you escape the deepest pits of Tartarus, who helped you..."
....
The night was still young in Xia Fangs eyes despite the waning crowd and the dimming bonfire. "Come Natalia, lets go to the arms room and you'll see relics of the ancient times" she beckoned.
A fatigue looking Natalia grew weary seeing Xia so full of life "No, Xia let's go back to your bunks please. The wine and feast are taking a toll on my energy, I could collapse any moment" she cried. Natalia didn't look to far off from falling asleep she already was starting to doze off and her hair was now a in messy bun.
"Fine fine, your going to meet your sisters one way or another, might as well do it now" said XIa Fang, she grabbed Natalia and soon rushed her off to the cabin.
...
Upon arrival Natalia was greeted by armed guards at the cabin doors both were women and bore the same insignia as her armor set, however their demeanor emanated a very strict military life and despite their youthful appearances their eyes gave way to a sort of endless sorrow and despair making anyone that saw them have their hearts tugged.
Natalia saw on their right shoulders were the letters RIII and immediately after noticing Xia Fang greeted them saying "Centurions, welcome your sister Natalia." They both stood straightened up and saluted Natalia with a smile. One of the women said "I am centurion Sefia and my friend here is Lev, we look forward to serving with you", Lev proceeded to wave at Natalia and resumed her position by the door.
"Good good, Natalia these are two of the elites serving our squad for more than 10 years. Respect them and they will gladly die for you" pronounced Xia Fang as they walked through the double oak doors.

"You never really told me about your unit and what makes up this demigod army" Natalia said as she observed the now more then 20 sleeping demigods and neatly arranged armor stands. She commemorated their tidiness despite knowing most of them were overflowing with food and wine. Also by their bedsides or hanging on their bunks were numerous swords similar to hers and judging by the distance all of the demigods could easily draw them and be ready to fight. The cabin was dimmed and provided a cozy feeling making one want to simply just lay down and sleep, even the beds were inviting seeing as the sheets were folded and pillows were clean.
"Well let me escort you to the mess hall so we don't disturb our bunk mates." whispered Xia Fang as she led them to an empty table. The kitchen area was empty but despite the late hours the lighting was relatively brighter here then the cabin and lining the walls of the kitchen were numerous fridges and stoves. "Natalia those are fridges they keep our rations cool and our food preserved, we store war rations on the left and those of us who bought personal goods are on the right" following this Xia Fang led Natalia to a table and beckoned her to sit down. "I'll grab you some cold water and some jerky." as Xia Fang proceeded to open up one of the fridges .
Soon after both women sat down and Xia started off by saying "We are the 1st legion of Hades and there are 3 more legions under the command of other Legates. The 1st and 2nd legion report to one Imperial and the other two report to another. We don't need to get into specifics for that right now, the only thing you need to worry about its our 1st Legion."
Natalia waved for Xia Fang to continue, her interest as clear as day.
"Our legion as of today lost 55,000 good men in the previous battle so it will take awhile to reform, but on an ordinary day a legion will consist of 150,000 men and 50,000 light and heavy Cavalry. The Legion is divided into 10 Cohorts of 15,000 men followed by 20 Centuries of 750 men, one century is composed of 10 brigades of 75 men divided into 5 squads of 15 men. However we usually don't ask what brigade your on, only century due to the loss of an entire brigade being a common occurrence. One more thing, Tribunes are the commaders of the cohorts, timeless veterans, the 1st century is entierly made up of these veterans" continued Xia Fang, a moment of silenced ensued as Natalia grasped at just how many men were in the camp and at just how bloody the battles could get, hearing that 1/3 of the legion was annihilated just in one battle.

Xia Fang let Natalia process the information as she picked up some jerky to chew. It didn't take long time for Natalia to keep pressing for more information. After chewing her jerky Xia Fang cleared her throat and continued "each Cohort has a specialized skill our cohort is front line heavy infantry meaning we're almost always fighting, there's the siege specialist cohort responsible for our camps defense and mechanical weapons, communications specialist that relay information throughout our outposts, weapons and armors specialist or our blacksmiths and finally our sabotage and assassination groups. The night is going old Natalia I'll wake you up tomorrow and show you the library, we'll continue there"
Xia Fang pointed upstairs saying "the third bunk on the left is yours, the elites sleep below in case of attack." and soon left for her bunk.
Natalia followed her directions and soon went to her bunk and to her surprise the armor set from the morning furthermore, her sword was neatly tucked at the side ready for action, she quickly changed in the bath and soon climbed in to the neatly folded sheets, to her surprised the bed was warmed and the mattress contouring to her figure giving a feeling of being hugged, immediately she fell into slumber.
...
Deep into the morning she was awakened by an armored Xia Fang who radiated a bright smile. "Salute your Prefect Natalia, hahaha" said a very cheery Xia "today we're going to the library, there we can discuss everything you need to know and send you off to the legions training camp. Don your sword and hurry up lets go."
After getting dressed Natalia was greeted by her bunk mates downstairs all of whom introduced themselves and went about their business. The mess hall was extremely noisy and crowded dozens of demigods line up at the stoves waiting for rations while the others chatted about last night's events. Xia Fang led Natalia to an empty table and proceeded to get her a ration. Soon she was greeted with a plate of mash potatoes, steak and some bacon. "Eat your going to burn it off everyday anyways"
...
A very delightful scene greeted Natalia as she went out the doors, to her right she saw carriages with soldiers dressed in armor with spears protruding from their sides, their dark helmets created a shadow covering their eyes and giving them an alienating feel, however they had smiles and jeered at each other completely contrasting their appearance. The her left dozens of demigods walked in an out of cabins carrying exotic swords and delicious smelling breakfast. Xia Fang grabbed her hand and led Natalia to the library all the while Natalia took in the bustling city sights.
Upon reaching the library two massive mechanical ravens stared down at Natalia and Xia Fang. They looked like mere ants compared to the 7 meter tall birds and Natalia couldn't imagine what their wingspan was let alone those claws. The automatons had red laser dotted eyes locking on to the couple and their feathers looked razor sharp. They were painted black contrasting everything in their surroundings.
"These are the libraries guardians, subsonic ravens made from mithril and enchanted steel. Our library holds the legions records and the legions classified documents." explained Xia Fang "Also the library is underground befitting the legion of Hades, we call it the Legions Tomb since all the men including the living, names are recorded there as so they are never forgotten.
...
Notes: (I just realized that auto correct has been changing Prefect to Perfect so if you see in in the future just know I meant Prefect ;3)

Post War Rules
Life on Torus Terminal is usually fast paced, but simple. A frontier Terminal has little room for easy living, but the great, circular station does boast shopping and culinary experiences from many Imperial races and cultures. Any star is, by its nature, extremely far from its neighbors. But laser highways, and the great shimmering sails of the light-rider spaceships make the trip into only about ten years. Still, the denizens of Torus Terminal eagerly await the day when the Anti-Euclidean Engine their station is built around finally comes online. Once that is done, they will have unfettered access to the entire Empire. Instantaneous travel and trade across hundreds of stars. Torus Terminal does boast one other oddity: a creature which calls itself Human. As he says, the last of his kind for now. He has made quite the life for himself on Torus Terminal, especially in the darker corners of the station. The elites of Torus Terminal praise his name, for once he took up arms, crime began to fall. What they did not realize was that was because he had claimed the seedy underbelly of Torus Terminal for himself and his own goals. The elites praise him as a paragon of law. The criminals fear him as a ruthlessly clever crime boss. Those closest to him, know him as the General. This story was originally posted on the Humanity Fuck Yeah subreddit, where it evolved from a simple play on a historical figure in a science fiction setting into a full blown space opera. I kind of took it as an opportunity to explore a setting I've had rolling around in my head for years. I also decided that it would be nice to have it in a place where I could more easily come back and edit it later, so I'm reposting it here. Here's a link to the original posting if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/e9cwpl/post_war_rules/ If my genre and tagging is subpar, let me know. I'm still new to Royal Road and I'm open to help. Feel free to comment and make suggestions, or discuss. I love comments, and so long as we keep things civil I also love criticism.

An Un-Ideal Eternity
An Un-Ideal Eternity is about a man named Desmond, who is killed, revived, and then finds himself immortal in a post-apocalyptic society. Just because it’s a society doesn’t mean that either he or “they” have to be civilized. And just because a gentleman has become immortal does not mean that he has no dangers to be wary of. The good news is that he’s been afforded some very kind and very generous ministrations from his future-self. The bad news is that all those efforts might still not be enough, to allow our hero, to live in as untroubled and as un-tumultuous a manner as he’d prefer.

Chaos uploaded
At year 2100, there was a new game that was being developed: "Realms of chaos" With cutting edge technology, realistic physics(At least, as far as fantasy-medieval worlds goes), and immersion to the point one could believe it was real, it is destined to become world-wide famous. Two siblings, Nysa and Inas, received the right of beta-testing the game, along with other players...although with the beta-test, many difficulties came together with it: Unfair enemies, lack of clues, lack of linear paths, and above all, no set of rules of how one should play. Nysa, being the less competitive out of the two siblings, has decided to play the game just for fun.But little does she knows how much the action of a single player, who just wants to explore and have fun, can change the realm of chaos. This is my first story, and I'll upload whenever I manage to get through the writers' block.Due to college starting, uploads might be erratic. Feel free to review and comment!
