Here I stand,

On this lonely step.

Supervising the passerby,

Watching the aimless ramble.

Then, in the distance,

I see a heaven’s light.

Bright, stark against the darkened sky.

Heaven’s gaze blips over me,

Barely seeing, barely knowing.

And for once, the sky is light.

Then, suddenly,

All is dark. All is empty.

I am alone.

All I see is
