《Traitor's Creed》Tears and a Grave [Chapter 005]

He already left?

I sit there dazed, not knowing how to respond. It's the first day if the new world and he already decided to leave the safety of the castle?

This is strange, he MUST know something. I'm sure of it now.

As I swim around in my thoughts, the cute kitty maid in front of me fidgeted about, not knowing what to do after the person she was talking to suddenly went silent.

"Ahn-umm Nya-I just remembered that the king wanted to talk to your class representative~ Said it was important nya. And since madam is awake then we should go to the throne room~ "

The maid casually told me something very important causing me to hang my mouth open for a moment in disbelief.

"Alright.. well then lead the way.." I say in almost a murmur

Seeing me finally respond, the kitty maid showed me a cheeky grin before turning around and skipping, that's right skipping not walking, towards what I assume to be the throne room.

As we walk down the long hallway, with its paintings of its past rulers, the empty fantastical suits of armor idly standing to the side, as well as the several maids whos races varied from human to straight up slime girls made me finally realize something.

After all this time it only hit me now, this isn't a dream. This is my reality now. I died and was transported to another world with no way back home.

If the emotions swelling inside of me back when we were summoned could be represented by a small gust of wind, my emotions now were a raging hurricane which was about to burst out.

As we stopped in front of the massive double doors of the throne room, the kitty maid turned to face me, surprised by the sudden tears streaking down my face. I quickly try to wipe away the tears using my shirt but it didn't stop, all the memories I had from my old world kept flooding into my head reminding me that I may never go back...

This sad truth made me cry actual tears, something that I haven't done since I was a child.

As I continued to cry, my knees turned weak and I had to crouch down onto the carpeted floor, continuously wiping away the tears that came out.

The kitty maids surprised expression turned soft as she realized what was happening, crouching down next to me she began patting my head, speaking in a whisper like voice to comfort me

"It's going to be okay nyah~ We're sorry for doing this to you~ But always remember, no matter what we will be your ally. As long as the kingdom is here no one will hurt you"

We sat there for a few minutes as I cried and she comforted me, along the line a few more maids saw us as they passed by and did the same, comforting me as I cried.

Outside the walls of the Capital of Hearth, a boy was kneeling down onto the muddy ground, using his hands to continuously dig a hole, desperately digging as if his life depended on it. As time passed by his once clean school uniform became caked in mud and grass, his hands showing small cuts here and there due to the excessive manual digging.

After nearly two hours of digging with his hands, now with a hole a few feet deep he finally got what he wanted, underneath the earth was a large wooden coffin, even though the paint that covered it was long gone due to the passage of time the wood the coffin was made out of was surprisingly still intact and in near perfect condition.

With ragged breath, the boy covered in mud let out mad laughter

"Hahaha! It's here! It's really here!"

As he spoke to himself, the boy quickly pried the coffin open. Inside was the remains of what looked to be a warrior, its age similar to the gravedigger that found it. The warrior's once shining armor was now rotten and unusable, the magic accessories that the warrior once wore now lost their light, all magic lost due to the passage of time. All that was left was a shining golden spear, seemingly still in perfect condition that the skeleton held tightly.

With shaking hands he slowly went to pick the spear up from the grave, as he made contact with the magical weapon it let out a bright golden light which quickly enveloped the dark forest the boy was in.

As the bright light grew stronger and stronger, it sent a wave of subtle but powerful mana that quickly covered a very large area of land surrounding the forest.

Several men and women from different kingdoms including the king of Hearth himself suddenly felt their skin crawl, even the ancient beings that slumbered beneath the earth opened their eyes due to this familiar feeling.

All of these powerhouses turned to look towards the same direction, a blinding tower of light that originated from the forest of darkness located at the borders of Hearths Capital.
