He walked down to the living hall. No one was around. Everyone was busy outside. The room was dimly lit.

She walked in and looked at him smiling. "You called for me?" She asked, looking around to find no one. He didn't respond and was still facing away.

"Hello! " she called for his attention. He turned to face her.

His body stiff and his manner meant business. But his eyes were moist, reflecting his pain.

"Are you okay?" She asked sensing something upset him. She walked closer to him.

He raised his hand and extended the document to her. She looked clueless and with wide eyes. She took the papers in his hand and read the title. Flipping it she saw the photograph and signatures.

Gulping she composed herself. "What about this ? "

"Abhi yeh pooch sakti ho? " he asked clearly hurt.

She was silent.

"Yeh.." He raised his voice and then pausing to breathe continued in a composed voice. "Yeh forged huh? Tumne yeh Sab kiya?"

She gulped , her eyes turning moist. "Forget it, it doesn't.. Matter." She looked away.

"It does matter. It matters very much Anika!" He spoke holding her forearm, not letting her go. "My questions need answers Anika."

She looked at him. Her eyes were screaming that it was all true. She nodded in a yes.

He left her hand. She pressed her lips. The truth hurt him, she could tell that by his face.

"Kyun?" He asked, his voice heavy and his face expressing his hurt.

Anika looked away at the picture on the wall. It was ships family photo. Her eyes rest on his face, as memories of past came to her head.

* * * Past * * *

"Doctor but aise Kaise?" She enquired as they walked up the stairs."See, his injury is critical. A few nerves of his brain have been affected. He remembers absolutely nothing. Just blank. To add he was sin trauma during the accident. Aise cases mein patient ka restless hona is normal. But at times, the patient can't bare the loss of identity and memory, and do take drastic steps for example attempt to suicide or causing harm to others. In his case he tried to kill himself. Don't worry we have kept him under observation. We can't comment on the mental state now. We have to observe. But in any case telling him about his loss can worsen his condition. I pity the man honestly, ek jhatke mein Sab kuch chala gaya yaahan tak ki yaadein or identity bhi." The doctor told her.

Anika looked tensed. Repeated viisya to lawyers and hospital had drained her. So many events had happened to her all at once. She was struggling to keep up with the pace of life. And here was this man.

Suddenly they heard commotion from the door at the end of the corridor. Shocked they looked at each other and ran. The situation in room was haphazard. Shivaay stood their in the balcony attempting to climb over the railing. The nurse and the attendant were holding him. Anika was stop shocked to react. The doctor immediately was helping the two people to get the man in control.

Shivaay was screaming to be free. "Nurse injection now!"

Commanded the doctor, with his hand around Shivaay's body.

Soon the nurse had done her work. Shivaay had collapsed into unconsciousness in the doctor's arms with a scream. Anika sighed and sat on the couch aside. She was beyond shocked with what she had witnessed. Silence filled the room. The doctor ordered the attendant to make arrangements in another room for the patient. The burse offered Anika some water. Only after a few minutes was Anika able to speak.

"Are you okay?" The doctor asked.

Anika nodded. "Can't something be done to help him.?"

"We can try to give him an identity. Maybe he would relax if a relative or someone could be brought. A sense of security would settle in his mind. " the doctor.

"What if no...?"

"We will have to put him into a rehab, or a place better for reviving him back "

Anika looked on shocked.

She walked out from the hospital tensed. She hadn't got over the shock. She sat by the beach wondering. What did life want? She couldn't sleep at night, the scene would come rushing back. She felt helpless. The same continued until the day she made up her mind to attempt to save him by becoming his ...family.

The attempt went successful. Shivaay had believed he was her husband, and they had a contract marriage. He was relatively silent and barely spoke. Something the doctor had predicted. Things went well until that one morning when almost magically Shivaay regained his memory and SSO was back!

"Anika I m asking you something?" His voice brought her out of her thoughts. She was breathing heavy, sweta beads had formed on her forehead. She looked at him. No. She dint have the courage to tell him why. She dint want him to know about it nor did she want him to think she had pitied him. Shivaay Singh Oberoi wouldn't digest it easily. He was all about a man who had built himself and rebuilt himself after his fall. Besides the doctor had also feared a complication if he was told the past and that came as a trauma to him.

She gulped, she had no answers to his question.

"Anika...answer me damn it! Kyun? " he spoke looking at her. He wanted her to explain herself. His heart knew she would have an explanation to silence his mind. "Tell me Anika? What made you did it?" He asked gently holding her hand.

"Yaar bolo naa!" He screamed.

She trembled. She couldn't cry. She hated to see him like this. "I have nothing to say." She spoke in asmall voice.

"You used me Anika?" He asked feeling betrayed.

"How could you Anika?" He asked stepping away.

"You lied to me Anika! You ...you were the only one I trusted!" His voice trailed.

Kis pe karun zaahir

Hain dard kya aakhir

Kyon sukoon mujh se khafa

Anika bit her lips to keep her from crying. She broke with every word he said., because she knew he was breaking.

"Listen to me. Tab..mujhe samaj mein.."

"Enough. " his shrill voice broke her sentence. "Go away Anika." She looked at him shocked. He walked away outside. She ran to her room. This was not fair. Life was not fair. She had just decided to tell him that she...that she loved him. This was not fair. Her footi kismat was never fair. She threw the cushions, she threw the vase, she cried. Her cries were loud but there was no one to hear. She hated herself for putting herself through all of it. Everything was fine until she had decided to take a little more from life. Until she had decided to love!

She sobbed and tears flowed. She fell to the carpeted floor crying. She hated this. She never wanted to love! She never wanted pain! She cried until she could scream no more and no more tears flowed.

Betaab lamhon mein

Benaam aashqon mein

Yeh aaks kis ka ban gaya

She walked to the gate. She gave one last look to the lawn, where the function was happening. Her belongings were already in car. She turned away when a voice called out to her.

It was Saumya. Saumya dragged her to stage saying everyone was looking for her. Anika tried to convince Saumya otherwise but Saumya simply heard none. She looked at the stage. Daadi, dev , Prinku and he was there. She turned away when Prinku held her hand. "Kahan thii...tab se wait kar rahe hain. " Prinku dragged her and made her stand beside Shivaay while she got back to standing on Shivaay's other side next to Dev. Anika faked a smile. She looked at him. He dint even acknowledge her presence. He was smiling for the photograph as though nothing had happened. He was a master in hiding what his heart felt. She walked down and gave him one last look. He turned to look at her. "Never show me your face again!" He spoke and walked away. His every word was dripping of hurt.

"Itnaa aasaan hai?" She asked walking behind him.

He gritted his teeth. His fingers fisted. He turned to look at her. "Itna aasan tha?"

She gazed at him painfully. "Tia ne sahi kaha thaa, no one does anything for anyone without a self centered motive. I was the fool!" His words were like sharp pointed arrows.

"Shaayad isliye ...!" She walked past him away towards the parking without looking back leaving her sentence unfinished. She wiped her tears that flowed. Until now she blamed her fate now she balmed him too. He had his doubts that's why it was easy for him to not see clearly.

He couldn't turn back and see her leave. No he couldn't. He couldn't see her walk away, away from him. Tears flowed down his eyes as he proceeded to bid farewell to his sister. He wiped them away. No one was here to stay.

Ghum ko aazmaane de

Dil ko chot khaane de

Kya hai chale kuch to pata

O jaana...

His hands on Daadi's shoulders he waved at Prinku.

His sister left her home and she walked away – from his life.

His tears were mixed. No one knew.

Supporting Daadi he entered the mansion. Daadi hadn't noticed Anika's sudden absence. Shivaay helped her to her room and retuned to his room. He took the photo frame of him with his brothers. He could cry forever. He had no one but loneliness. No one.

His tears were his mixed emotions. Regret, Pain, guilt and loss, everything was there. Broken pieces of his heart were all that remained within him. Tears flowed and he sat helpless. Never in life had he felt so out of place, so lost, so given up on , and so lonely.
