Daadi smiled as Anika served the prasad to her. She turned to him, he extended his hand, a small teasing smile steadily appearing, she gulped and at once broke the eye contact. She placed the prasad in his palm and in immediate response he leaned slightly, whispering a thank you. She flinched at the sudden short proximity.
Daadi who was seated on the sofa turned to Shivaay asking about Prinku's whereabouts. Shivaay's expression grew serious and Anika looked on confused. Daadi had known about the blast then why was she asking about Prinku? Shivaay looked at Anika and bk at Daadi confused.
"Daadi...wo uss din ...ghar...mein..;" he struggled to say it.
Anika at once said what he meant to Daadi. He glanced at her and back at Daadi. Prinku was sinthe house when his argument with Omkara took place.
Daadi wore a worried expression, "Prinku uss din garh mein nahi thii...mujhe laga wo tere saath..
Shivaay stepped back in shock, " Lekin Daadi... " his green eyes seemed blank.
Anika stared on fearing another storm in his life.
His eyes gave up and welled, as he narrated to Daadi his part of the story.
Daadi looked on at him defeated at the horrible nightmare of a memory.
"Jab tu aur Om lad rahe thee, tab main Mandir ke liye nikal gayi thii, apne poto ko apne beteon ki tarah ladte huye nahi dehk sakti thii...Prinku ro Rahi thii, main usse Saath le gayi thii. Thodi der baad Mandir mein Prinku ko phone aaya aur wo mujhe wahaan chod kar nikal gayi, aur waapas nahi aayi. "
Daadi had been waiting but she din't return. The same evening she had seen the news telecasting on the TVs of the little shops by the temple. The next day the newspapers spoke. Daadi had no where to go, she was helpless, she still stayed at the Mandir in hope. She was there for an entire week but no one came, then came Anika. Anika used to regularly visit the temple, it was when Shivaay was at the hospital and her life was in a mess with the court proceedings. She had seen Daadi there and had tried speaking to her. Daadi in a state of shock had said nothing, just that she had no where to go. Anika had then convinced Daadi to stay at Asha Home. The older lady crestfallen had revealed nothing about her home or family to anyone. She was scared of the consequence if she revealed she was an Oberoi, After the blast at home. Life had it's ways, when it gave bountiful it also took back limitless.

Shivaay kneeled down in from of Daadi, bitterly broken, he held Daadi's hands as he heard each word of what she said.
"Iska..MATLAB Prinku .?" His voice trailed. His sister was alive and he had been assuming her dead. Where was she ? How was she? Fear tormented his heart, by just the thought of his delicate young sister out there in the cruel world.
Daadi sobbed. Tears din't seem to stop for Anika as she stood there. The painful scene she saw had freshened the pain she had felt when her lifeline her stemom, had left her. The pain she had over the years buried somewhere deep in her heart. The pain of being deprived of your loved ones. Silently rubbing away those tears she sat beside Daadi holding her by the shoulder, glancing at Shivaay who was leaning on to Daadi's lap crying.
In the very next moment he looked up, taking Daadi's hand in his hold. His eyes slightly red due to the crying.
"I promise you Daadi main Prinku ko Jald se Jald Ghar Waapas Laaunga!" He got up and left in quick strides, anger evident in his manner.
Daadi stared back at him tired. How much the young man, her grandson had to go through ? He was the pillar and the protective wall of the family. But, sadly the pillar was all that was left, and the wall cracked. Her family had crumpled, fate was indeed hard. She tilted her head slightly looking at the family portrait on the wall. She closed her eyes, leaving the res to the Lord. She knew he would give them the best. Anika slowly helped her get up and made sure Daadi slept comfortably. The medicines worked and the older woman had drifted into sleep.
With quiet steps she entered his room. The room was unusually dark and cold.He was staring away at the waters outside the window. No he wasn't staring, he was glaring.
He stood their cursing everything. Why did life had to be so hard to him? Why him? Omkara's words echoed in his head.
"Taqdeer Kisi Ka Naam Khoon Khandaan Nahi Dekhti, Chaahe Jitna Koshish Kar Le Ye Zindagi Tere Hisaab Se Nahi ChalegiEk din aisa aayega Shivaay jab tu ye realize karega,Tu chaahe jitna gussa karke dehk lena, Sach nahi badal paayega."
His jaw muscles clenched as his grip on the window frame became stronger. She cleared her throat, standing beside him. Before she could even speak, "Anika please leave me alone." He said in a cold voice without shifting his fixed gaze.

She sighed, and placed her palm on his shoulder," I know..aapke liye.."
He shot her a severely angry glance, "No You Don't Anika...Please. Leave."
Anika could understand his pain which was coming out as his cold attitude.
"Aap.." She once again tried, he couldn't be like that angry, and hopeless. Somewhere down she feared, his vulnerability. The one she had seen in the hospital, a few days after the accident. The man had tried to kill himself. The mere thought sent cold shivers down her. It was better for him to speak his vulnerability out than to keep it within and let it overpower him.
He lost it, he turned and held her elbow roughly, "Don't you get it Anika. I said leave me alone."
She had seen this coming. " I know kuch bhi thik nahi hai,.."
"Haan nahi hai theek. Aur Kya...Aur yeh sab Mere wajah se ho raha hai. Main naa hi acha beta thaa naa hi acha Bhai..! Yes its all because of me. My sister, Anika, Prinku naa jaane kis haal mein kahan hai. I have been so oblivious about her. "
He pointed to his wrist, "She used to tie Raakhi here, I had promised to protect her to be by her ...but...Main..." He hit his palm on the sill.
"Anika, Please leave me alone. " he turned away from her. Her heart was beating fast. How could she leave him alone that way. No she couldn't. She was scared to.
"Hum..!" She started reassuring him, when he glared at her.
"Kaha naa maine...tum nahi samaj sakti...you don't have a family Anika. You can't understand. It's easy for you to say sab theek ho jaayega... " he spat in anger.
She stood their motionless as his words pricked her, she knew he was speaking in anger, but she was a human after all. Here she was trying to help him ,to be his support and he was so indifferent to her.
She walked out without another glance back. She heard a few vases break. She stopped shocked, she ran back and peeped in, the vases on the table were now down on the shiny marbel floor. She stood their hiding behind the door staring at him, as he still stood glaring at the night sky. Only when he shifted to sit on the bed was she convinced he was okay and left.
She wanted to walk out but she had to stay at least for Daadi, she convinced herself, and him her heart whispered.
"Hello Commissioner Khan? I need to meet you! Okay." He ended the call, his eyes painfully glistening with anger.
As she slowly made way to Daadi's room she saw him storm out through the door of the Mansion. She simply looked at the wall clock and made her way back to Daadi's room. Silently whispering a prayer for his well being.
The search team had been unsuccessful in tracing down the Oberois Daughter, despite all efforts by Shivaay Singh Oberoi, himself. He had been busy since past two days, Anika had been staying in the Mansion taking care of Daadi, whose health had been little unstable seeing Shivaay's aloof behavior to himself.
Anika had voluntarily decided to stay. She neither spoke to him ever since that night, nor did he.
He had tried speaking to her, but she wouldn't pay any heed and would stay away from him with one excuse or another. She din't even look into his eyes properly. Which only added to his guilt and frustration.
"I don't care how...but you need to find her." He screamed over the phone. He threw the phone breaking it in anger after the call ended. She had just entered with a tray in hand, and saw his phone's brutal death and then turned to him, wearing no expression what so ever.
"Daadi asked you to have this!" She said in a formal tone, placing the tray holding the glass of milk on the table. She was speaking to him after three whole days!
"Daadi is better now, just one more dose of the antibiotic tonight and she will be fine. Fever is down. Just remind her to take the medicines. And if you get a little time free, please spend some time with her. I know your are a busy man, have to wash a bucket load of your guilt, but.."
She turned slightly when she felt him staring at her.
It pained him, the manner in which she spoke to him. So she was leaving. And she was taunting him. Great. But he suddenly felt vulnerable when she looked back at him her eyes showing she was upset. He shouldnt have screamed at her that day. It had been three whole days to that now.
"Anika!" He spoke wanting her to listen to him.

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
