《Their Shattered Angel》Masked identity

~Magnolia~
Speeding through the dark night, I get further and further away from this city. I take the only route that makes it possible to get out of this restricted town and for now it has been an empty street, except for one or two cars cruzing around like I am. Anger takes over me as I think again of the murder of my family, along with the murder of my best friend, my soul; Jace.
As I shuffle through my playlist, I get the sudden urge to stop and get something to eat. Luckily I drive passed a gas station and decide to stop there to quickly fill up my hungry tummy.
I jump out of the car, a five dollar bill in my hands, and enter the gas station shop to grab myself a pack of oreos. I pay and when I get out of the shop, a car furiously arrives at the gas station and halts. A boy I had the pleasure to meet comes jumping out of his car to fill his tank up I suppose. I smile as I see his familiar face and decide to walk up to him, because to be honest I wonder why he is in such a rush at this time of the night.
"Hi there stranger !" I greet, my arms crossed around my body with a amused smirk on my lips. He is quick to look up to me and confusion washes over his face once he recognises me.
"Well well well, isn't that miss perfect in person." He smiles and stops what he is doing. "What the hell are you doing here at this time of the night ?"
"I could ask you the same thing M.Osler." I eye him suspiciously. "I am just driving for a bit. Get things of my mind you know ?"
"Oh totally get it. Is that your car by the way ?" He indicates the Mustang with a frown, but shock appears on his face when I nod to his question. I hear him curse under his breath.
"Wanna do something nice ?" He suddenly says with an evil grin and by the looks of it I already know it will not be a simple thing.
"Get in your car and Follow me miss perfect. I'll pay for the gas and then we can head off." He states and I feel my anxiety bible inside of me. What the hell am I getting myself into ?
Minutes later we are on an empty road, William driving in front of me to bring us to a place that looks nothing like a safe space. I remember to turn my location off just in case my brothers wake up and decide to check on my whereabouts.
I swallow a lump in my throat when we get off the main road to head into a road made of dirt. I should have come here. Jace wouldn't have let that happen. Dirty and dust flies up in the air when both our cars pass by this abandoned road. We even enter a forest at one point and I really hesitate at that moment to turn back around and leave this idea in the trash.

My thoughts shut up when a parking with hundreds of cars show up in my vision and without my realising it my mouth is hung wide open.
"Holy shit. Will brought me to the evils nest." I whisper in disbelieve as I am now standing in the parking lot of one of the biggest races in the United States. I was supposed to meet Gab there once he has my little Rage with him, and so I could race. I guess plan changes, because hell yeah I am going to race tonight.
I get out of the car simultaneously with Will as we both park our cars quite in the back of the parking lot, because of the lack of space.
"Do you know where we are ?" William asks me with a slight smirk painted across his lips.
"No fucking idea where you brought me Osler." I respond with a half lie, because technically I have no idea where we actually are, I just know it's called the Devil's nest.
"Come on follow me, let's see if miss likes to actually play with fire." He mocks me and I just roll my eyes at his stupidity.
I follow him as walk passed groups of people that are most of the time gathered around cars that look like a lot of money was invested in them to be the fastest car here. Let's see if it's just the car that matters or if the driver can make some changes in the scoring.
"I just got to call someone for a sec, can you wait ?" I demand Will and he shrugs his shoulders, before taking out a cigarette out of his back pocket to light it on, while waiting for me to finish my call.
I quickly ring Gab and ask him if he knows the area and the people a bit.
For the first minute all I can hear are the yells and scolds from him once I tell him where I am. He is sick worried for me and doesn't trust this place for me to be without his protection or anyone's protection. I didn't mention Will to him, because I don't want to cause any more unnecessary trouble to top everything off.
When I am done with my call I know exactly what I am supposed to do, and get straight to Will to tell him that we can continue our little adventure.
Tumbler
This name that Gab mentioned repeats itself in my head and I try to figure out a plan to find this dude. He will be able to help with what I want to do tonight Gab assured me and I completely trust him.
"Is this an illegal race ?" I dumbly ask Will even though I already know the answer. I watch as his cold stone expression switches to a more friendlier one, when I ask this question. He nods slowly and keeps walking towards a more crowded place, where I definitely not feel so comfortable anymore. Boys way older than me watch me like I am their prey, their looks roaming on my body as they like their lips. Some of them just give me murderous looks, as if they were thinking that they could roll me over with their cars. Fuck them.

When I was with Jace, we always used to go to a few races around the country, they all knew his name and never dared to even glance at him, so looking at me was definitely something they didn't dare to try. This was different. I wasn't protected by him. I was with Will, but that clearly didn't give me reassurance. Sorry Will, I have nothing against you, but with him it was different.
"Are you going to race ?" I question Will shyly as I scoot closer to him to try and find some protection as we walk through rangs of cars.
"I intended too yeah." He answers simply and goes on. "Will see how the night goes, but for now let's just watch some of the races. You're down ?"
As I was about to agree to his proposition, a conversation just a few meters away catches my attention.
"Tumbler ! Dude. You fixed my car ?" A boy who looked in his forties slurred to a boy who looked more in his twenties. The later was strongly build along with a death glare looking at the one speaking to him. Bingo. Just found the one I was looking for.
Leaving Will alone I walk towards the two boys talking about a green car who looked pretty well build, I guess this Tumbler boy did that machine himself. On the way there I stop and look around for something that is quite important to me. When I catch sight of what I could probably use, I walk towards a motorcycle, where a jet black helmet is attached to it. Perfect thing to mask my identity.
After getting a quick peek around and making sure nobody's around I snatch the helmet of the motorcycle and slip it over my head.
"What the fuck are you doing !" Will whispers to me in a panicked tone once he sees what I am doing. "Magnolia what the actual fuck..."
I ignore him as I walk towards this Tumbler guy, my head held high, strong posture, trying to be as confident as I could. My hoodie even covers my curves making it difficult to see if I am a boy or a girl knowing that my hair and head are covered by the black helmet.
"Tumbler" I say in a cold tone to gain the attention of the one that is supposed to help me tonight. Hearing me he turns around to face me and immediately I can see the annoyance on his face.
"The fuck do you want boy?" He grumbles, before taking a step towards me and even if I wanted to, I force myself to not back away from him. I notice that some of the people surrounding us had all their attention shifted to this discussion, probably waiting for something to explode.
"I heard you could get me a car for tonight." I continue without really giving information about myself to try and stay low. I feel the presence of Will next to me, which I truly didn't think would have happened. I actually expected him to be a coward and leave me in this shit I got myself into.
"Who do you think you are to even come to me asshole ?" Tumbler growls and shoots me a death glare. I don't back away by his aggressive words, it only makes me want to stay longer to mess with him. Don't fuck with me bitch. He doesn't know who hides behind this helmet.
"You remember Gab ?" I speak and refer to my friend, a smirk on my face as soon as I see his tough expression drop down, replaced by a panicked look. "I guess you do."
"You don't know him, it can't be." His voice trembles a little. "Who are you ?"
"Feel free to Call him right now big guy. I promise you he won't be happy to see you talk this bad to one of his closest friend." Talking confidently, I step a foot closer to him. "Nice to meet you. I am MJ."
At the mention of my surname, his eyes grow wide and I watch as fear overcomes the little courage he still had a few seconds before.
"So why don't you get the car that you think I could use best and shut up so we could do what we came here for." I comment coldly, not leaving him space to talk back to me. I watch in satisfaction as he hurriedly walks away, running from this conversation as quickly as possible.
I guess name still has the effect we wanted to.

Kind’s Kiss
MAGIC DOESN'T KILL, NOT BY ITSELF. IT NEEDS A LITTLE HELP. Jessica DeRidder is a substitute teacher and mage in hiding, her daughter Ellen a killer on the run. Their next job lands the mother-daughter team in Hellhole, a small town in the middle of nowhere. All they need to do is their job. For Mom to identify the problem, and for Ellen to... fix it. Easy. Simple. But not this time. The pair find themselves caught in the struggle between the Man-in-White and the Wicked Witch of the West. A mysterious image and the theft of a deadly flower lead the pair to a score of dead prisoners, magical drug dealers, and red-eyed assassins falling from the sky. And somehow it all seems to be related to Ellen's murky past. All Ellen wants to do is do her homework, eat ice cream, and protect her newfound friends (not necessarily in that order). She'll go all-in, guns blazing. But when the smoke clears there may be nothing left but a stranger's past and a lonely future. --- 'Kind's Kiss' is a light, modern-day fantasy, easy on the magic, heavy on the snark. Though complete it is still a work in progress. One reviewer described it as 'Buffy meets Sabrina, as done by Tarantino'. I'm still not sure if I should consider that a compliment or hire a hitman :-)

Right Side of Hell
Albus Dumbledore was sure he made the right choice sacrificing an innocent child. Too late he understood how terrible that mistake was. Harry Potter was not what he wanted him to be, he was not what the magical world expected him to be. He was not a replica of James, instead, he inherited more of Lily. Far too much to be convenient.
