《Their Shattered Angel》Confusing acts

After our little chat at the dinning table, Greyson was asked to show me a room, which used to be my bedroom when I was little. Blake left the table as soon as he had the chance to and stormed out of the mansion, angry for a reason that was unknown to me even though I had my little idea. It was probably me who made him angry, but I tried to keep this thought in the back of my head even though it wouldn't leave my mind.
"Do you like it ?" Greyson asks me with a warm smile once he shows me my room. The walls are painted in a dark grey, just like I like them, and a king sized bed is positioned next to a wide window which lets the sun shine in.
It is a very spacious room. I even have a big walk-in closet that is still empty and my own bathroom. My mouth is watering at the sight of the huge modern shower, which includes its own speakers, but for me the gadgets don't matter. I just want it to have warm water.
I am so grateful for everything these guys gave me, but it still doesn't feel right to have it all. I am not even sure whether or not they like my presence in their house.
"It is lovely thank you." I respond, before setting my only backpack on the ground, which earns me a shot of pain through my arms and neck.
"We will buy you clothes tomorrow, so you don't have to worry about that either. Just get settled in here, take a shower or something. We will call you once dinner is ready." Greyson explains calmly, before making his way to the door. Just when he is about to leave he adds something that makes my heart skip a beat. " I am glade to have you back Lia, you don't know how much your loss affected us. All of us."
And then he closes the door, leaving me in my own new room along with my own chaotic thoughts. Lia... he is saying that as if he actually cares. But nobody cares for me... not anymore.
A few minutes later, I find myself in the warm shower, listening to some calming music, which happens to be "Let it all go" by Birdy. I let the warm water flood over my bruised body. I wasn't even able to look at it before going into the shower, as I was too scared to see the ugly truth.
The boys had put all sort of shampoo, body wash and conditioner for me to choose from, which made me chuckle because even I had no clue what to do with all these twenty bottles.
I take my time in this magnificent shower, before going back out to slip one of my only black sweatshirt, along with a pair of sweatpants. At first I had a simple T-shirt on, but I quickly see the mistake I make ; my bruises and cuts are showing and that isn't a thing I want to expose, especially not to my long lost family. I don't want to chase them away, but I would rather try and get to know them better before they throw me out.

I also decide to leave my dark hair and let it dry naturally by itself like I always do, instead of blowdrying it. I make sure my purple neck is covered with some foundation I had taken with me to the coffee shop. And finally I take a painkiller to make my body ach a little less.
But then a sudden thought pops in my head, making me sight in disappointment at how dumb I am to forget that. I get up and leave the room to find the first phone I can get my hands on.
Unfortunately luck isn't on my side at this moment, because as soon as I take a foot out of my room I come across the only brother I didn't want to see.
Blake. How fun is that ?
It looks like he just came back from where ever he left, but at least he doesn't look as angry as before. His expression is back to a stone cold face.
He stare at each other for a little and notice that he is still wearing the necklace. I want to comment on it but before I can, he already leaves me standing in the dark corridor to go to what I guess is his room. I take a deep breath to calm my nerves, before getting back to my mission, which is finding a phone. Asking isn't in my intentions, so I creep down the stairs not wanting to cross anybody else's path. These are my habits after all.
I turn the corner after I reach the last steps to enter the living room and make sure nobody else is around.
I looked everywhere , but sigh once I figure out that there isn't a phone that is randomly laying around on the couch or the table.
Shit. I actually really have to make this phone call and I am considering asking one of the boys to borrow their phone, but it seems too risky for me. I don't want them to know who I am trying to call. They can't figure it out.
"Excuse me Miss.Knight, Mr.Knight told me to ask you to join dinner. They are waiting." A random guy suddenly appears out of nowhere behind me, scaring the shit out of me. I give him a little nod, before turning around to make my way to the dinner table, but stop right in my tracks when I realise that I don't have a clue of where it could be.
"This way" the guy from before instructs as I see a small smile form on his lips, while he gestures me to go the opposite way I was going. I thank him before following his instructions that were supposed to lead me to the dinning room. When I finally arrive all eyes landed on me, interrupting all the conversations on the way. Everyone is already seated, leaving only one place left next to Leo and Damon, which unfortunately is right across Blake once more.

I quietly make my way to the table and sit down as an awkward silence fills the room. Seconds later the conversations begins again and they all start to eat. I can feel the dark eyes of Blake lingering on me, while I stare at my plate filled with amazing looking food.
"Why are you not eating ?" Blake's voice echoed through the entire room, as it fills with silence once again. All the boys are looking at me now with curious and worried faces, while they wait for me to answer Blake's question.
"Am I allowed to eat ?" I quietly ask, unsure if it was even a good idea. But as soon as the words leave my mouth, Blake's eyes grow wide, filled with anger which makes me sink deeper in my chair.
"Of course you can Angel, you don't even need to ask. You are home now." Damon replies without even a second of reflexion, but I can see his confusion at my question. I replied with a small Ohh, before picking up the silverware that lays nicely on the table.
I don't understand. With the Cambells I had to wait for them to tell me when I could eat, which wasn't very often, but with my brothers I don't even need to ask ? It is definitely not the same here and I would have to get used to it if I want to be able to stay.
"How was school back in your old town ?" Greyson asks me nicely to try and make conversation with me, once he notices that I am not such a big talker. I grimace in my head as I think back to what Nick did to me every once in a while at that place I used to love.
"It was fine" I put a small smile on my face to try and lighten the mood. " I liked it"
" You had quite good grades too." Leo states and I think he sees the suspicious look I give him because he added " Your school transferred us everything about an hour ago. We see that you are a great student and behave quite well in class. We all expect that is stays like that here." I am impressed at how much information they gathered for me in so little time. It's seems nearly impossible to do so. And they did all this for me ? Or was is for their personal gain ?
I don't get finish my meal, because it is way more food than what I am used to and it seems to alert my brothers.
"You didn't eat much Magnolia." Damon sternly states, giving me a questioning look, to which I answer that I already ate a lot for lunch, which was a big lie. They don't seem convinced, but decide to leave me alone. And then to my surprise we all start to clean up the table together. I wanted to pick up the plates from Leo and Greyson, but they didn't give me a chance as they refuse.
I am so used to clean everything in the house that it isn't normal for me to see everyone clean up together. Trust me it is confusing. At least they let me dry the plates after Ethan washes them off with a tone of soap, which smells heavenly by the way.
But suddenly, when I am drying the last plate, I feel it slip out of my hands and see it make its way to the ground. I watch in horror as it falls to the ground, followed by a shattering sound. I freeze in fear, unable to move at first. I feel the colour drain from my face, as I quickly drop to my knees to try and clean up the mess I made. Tears start to fill my eyes and my vision blurs.
You will get punished for this, you will get punished for this, you will get punished- I keep on repeating to myself, completely blocking the world out to the point where I don't even realise the sharp pieces of glass digging into my hand to leave cuts. I feel no pain, only fear of what could happen.
Blood starts to cover my hands and I don't even realise, until a large hand grips my shoulder to get me away from the glass. I thought that was it, I am going to get my punishment for making an other stupid mistake.
But to my completely and utter shock none of this happens. Ethan gently cups my cheeks in his hands, while looking at me with a worried look as he tries to say something to me. But I can't hear a think he was saying, a loud ringing sound echoing in my ears.
I blinked a few times to try and get the tears away in my eyes, but it doesn't help at all, so instead I back away from Ethan's grip. I stumble back as I look at the mess I made and start whispering apologies. Guilt fills me up to the point where I end up running away to lock myself in my room.
I run. Just like I ran the day my parents died.
And with this we are a step further in this book.
Do you like it so far ?
Who do you think Magnolia needed to call ? A friend ? The Cambells ? An other guess ?
Any idea why Blake is so angry with his sister who just came back from the dead ?
Vote, comment, share, read... well I think you understand what I mean
Have an amazing day and imagine being this summer. I can't wait !

Immovable Mage
What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. All the bigger is the eventual disappointment when Terry turns out to be an utter failure at spellwork. Diagnosis? Major aspect impairment. No cure. Ever. Faced with expulsion, Terry is blessed with the unexpected kindness of others. Terry loses his spot in the Academy but in exchange, he finds a home with a family. Terry starts to train as a pure mana cultivator but never stops looking for his own path as a mage – day after day, season after season, always searching for compatible spellwork… Until finally, Terry’s perseverance earns him a single spell – the only spell he will ever be able to cast. Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry. Jake was just an intelligent kid living a pretty regular life in Mill Creek, Washington. Then the apocalypse happens. Now with his Dad out of the country and totally in yet out his element, this is his story. My take on a system apocalypse based around "life force" as a currency. The main character will have a special power (as will most of the other characters) and be rather OP, you have been warned. Like many of the authors on this site I have no formal writing experience so writing tips and grammar corrections are much appreciated :)
