renjun chuckled at hyeji's frowny expression. "it's okay hyeji. you look fine." he reassured her time and again.

"i atleast wanted to look good while taking pictures. i feel less prettier standing next to a god like you." she grumbled whilst sipping on her americano.

"thank you for the compliment, you are no less than an angel yourself." he smiled.

renjun never knew how happy he would feel with his accomplishment until today. his accomplishment of being courageous enough to ask hyeji to hang out with him, without chickening out.

to him, hyeji was his source of warmth and bliss. and there would never be any otherwise to it.

"geez stop making fun of me already." hyeji replied and scrolled through her phone.

renjun frowned. "i'm not." he uttered firmly.

hyeji looked up at him.

"i mean it hyeji. you don't have to dress up to look impressive or beautiful or whatever you claim it to be. you look just as fine in my eyes." he paused before continuing.

"they say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and i guess you could say that i'm the 'beholder' because.... i would never really get tired of looking at that beautiful smile of yours or your mesmerizing eyes. it's just....so beautiful and i hope you know that you're beautiful."

the way his words would make her feel weird things from within, hyeji grew confused with it. she was speechless, unsure of what to reply with.

"why.....are you acting this way?" was that the right question she could ask back? hyeji didn't know.

renjun smiled. "because i like you hyeji."

stunned and surprised, hyeji felt her heart skipping a beat or two. "e-eh?"

"i know. i was surprised with myself too but i guess i liked the feeling of liking someone and of wanting to protect someone and i guess you are that certain someone for me." renjun chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head.

"hello? earth to renjun? you there?" hyeji waved her hand, pulling the chinese male out of his little world of day dream.

"huh?" renjun broke out of trance. disappointed that it was just an imagination, renjun sighed. when will he even have to courage to confess his feelings.

"are you done? because i'm done." hyeji informed.

renjun nodded. "yeah...i'm done. let's get going, shall we?" he suggested.

after having paid, they both decided to go to a nearby arcade.

the moment her eyes landed on the soft toys in the claw machine, hyeji squealed. "these are so cute! i want one too."

renjun giggled. "then let me try and win one for you." renjun pulled his sleeves up, determined to win. inserting a coin, the game began.

several minutes passed by and yet renjun couldn't seem to grab a hold of any toys. everytime he would attempt to grab one, he would just end up losing.

hyeji grew tired eventually. "yah huang, just give up already. let's play something else."

renjun was determined, just as determined in winning her heart. "just a moment. i'll make sure to get you one, no matter what–" renjun cupped his face, surprised that he finally won a soft toy after several attempts.

"we did it!! hyeji we did it!!" he screamed whilst turning towards her. "what??" hyeji hopped with excitement. "really??"

collecting the little soft toy, renjun held it out for hyeji. unknowingly, hyeji engulfed the cinese male for a little embrace of victory. "you're the best!" hyeji exclaimed.

when realization hit her, hyeji immediately broke the hug and awkwardly took the toy from his hand.

renjun cleared his throat and chuckled at her flushed expression. "i hope you like me too the way you like the soft toy." he teased her.

"s-shut up." hyeji stammered.

"i see you blushing~" he teased.

"no! i'm not!" she retorted, hiding her reddened cheeks with the soft toy.

renjun chortled. "let me drop you off, it's quite late now."

and that was how they walked back home with renjun teasing the girl endlessly.

"HUANG RENJUN I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON'T STOP–"
