❝little by little, i'm drenched
in the days i didn't notice.❞

hyeji informed her mom. mrs. kwon walked out of the kitchen, wearing her favourite apron and looked at her daughter teasingly.
hyeji sensed that her mom was obviously teasing her, making her sigh since mark had actually insisted on dropping her off the night before, beating renjun to it before the chinese male could even ask her.
hyeji groaned as she slid on her shoes. since today was weekend, she decided to meet someone. mrs. kwon pretended to act dumb while throwing her 'that' look.
mrs. kwon spoke in a kindergarten teacher's voice as she squished hyeji's cheeks. the mother added, making hyeji choke on her saliva.
" mrs. kwon interrupted in a sing song voice while placing her index finger over hyeji's lips, stopping her from cursing.
just then, a bird flew over and pooped over her mom's favorite flower that was kept right outside the window. she cursed at that.
hyeji stiffled a chuckle and placed a peck on her mom's cheek before running out of the house. hyeji called for a cab and luckily a taxi stopped infront of her. the driver nodded and maneuvered the car to where lied the company.
after parking beside the company, hyeji payed the cab fee and got out of the car. walking towards the entrance, she got held back by one of the security guards since she was new here.
hyeji lied and tried to smile at the guard who looked at her suspiciously, scanning her from head to toe. sighing, she switched on her phone and opened her gallery, tapping on one of the pictures she took with jisung and showed it to the guard.
the guard apologized and finally let her in. she then immediately walked into one of the elevators nearby and pressed onto the top floor button. after reaching, she wasted no time in walking towards the black door and knocking on it.

she heard the grumpy voice from wihin the room. she walked inside, receiving a look from the man who found her oddly similar.
he asked nonchalantly and continued on typing off the documents on his laptop.
she spoke loudly with confidence. it's now or never.

stepping out from the company's platform, hyeji sucked in a deep breath and smiled in satisfaction after having told mr. park about how he has been mentally torturing his son, jisung.
now all she had left to do was meet another certain someone. calling out for a cab, she sat inside and asked the driver to drop her off to the nearest police station.
after having reached the designated destination, she payed for the cab fee and went inside the station. hyeji could see jina at the corner of the room with a frsutrated officer sitting infront of her.
she steadily walked towards and clearing her throat to gain their attention.
the officer asked with relief. hyeji shook her head,
the police officer stood up,
hyeji nodded and then sat infront of jina.
jina mumbled very tiredly. hyeji noticed the exhaustion plastered on jina's pallid face.
hyeji said. jina raised her head and looked at her. misu hyeji continued and trailed off. hyeji could see jina averting her gaze away from hers.
kwon hyeji. that one name was more than enough to send chills down her spine. she feared her alot. cha misu always feared the girl.
kwon hyeji was one rebellious girl. she always picked on someone for no reason at all. with that being said, that someone was none other than cha misu.
"oi misu." hyeji harshly swung her arm over misu's shoulder, flinching the mentioned girl. "y-yes??" misu stammered. "awee don't be scared honey." hyeji laughed boisterously whilst violently shaking misu's shoulder.
this was her daily routine. she would always make fun of the girl and well you could say, bully her for no apparent reason. hyeji felt superior, she liked the feeling of looking down on the poor girl.

something about it made her feel satisfied, not noticing the struggle misu was actually going through behind her fake smile. she always failed to notice misu's hidden problems.
it was until then misu had missed her regular classes that one particular day. hyeji scoffed, planning on having a 'talking session' with the said girl next day. when the class was suddenly mentioned to gather in the assembly hall for an emergency, they all gathered there as ordered by the principle.
hyeji noticed the shock-stricken faces of the teachers as she entered the hall along with her classmates. it was then announced that misu had committed suicide, leaving everyone with extreme shock and the feeling of guilt gradually rose within hyeji's mind very terribly.
she blamed herself because she knew that she was to be blamed for misu's death. she could never forgive herself.
she had a moment of realization that had it not been her bullying misu just because she's weak then she wouldn't have taken such a huge terrifying step and ended her life.
"i'm sorry." hyeji whispered ruefully, staring at misu's portrait that were surrounded by flowers. "i'm sorry." the guilt ate her up and suffocated her from breathing properly. her eyes went blurry, as she then cried silently to herself.
hyeji regretted.
she decided to move to a new school with her family where her sick father was also alive back then. she chose to study at 127 high.
hyeji decided to start anew. to never be the same way she was before. she decided to forget about everything but she could never forget the way she had always mistreated misu.
hyeji asked, managing to hold back her tears. the guilt never left her, to be honest.
jina started, looking down at her palms. hyeji listened to her carefully.
she continued without looking at hyeji.
jina facepalmed and sighed before continuing.
jina said.
hyeji fiddled with her sweater paws while looking down on her lap. she blinked back her tears. she repeated the same words she had told before but this time it felt different since she was finally saying it to the person she had always felt sorry for.
tears spilled out of her eyes. hyeji tightened her fist and held herself back from crying any further.
jina facepalmed yet again but this time, she was crying as well– feeling ashamed for her stupid action that caused harm to jisung.
at that moment, hyeji realized that she could finally let go of the past, and that they both had realized their mistake. it was never too late to get things right except for the fact that jisung was hurt.
the guilt was finally starting to wash away. may be not fully but gradually. hyeji felt relieved and she could smile brightly even through her tears without feeling guilty from within for once.
she stood up and went to engulf the crying girl for a warm, nostalgic hug. they both said simultaneously.
jina knew that she had to also apologize to someone else before leaving to somewhere faraway, completely out of their lives.
the buzzing sound from hyeji's phone that was inside her jacket pocket was left unheard since they both were bawling their eyes out, while receiving sympathetic looks from the officers inside.
