《Danny Phantom x Female!Reader》Chapter 27: Walker's Plan

Later that day, we were all at Tucker's house as we stare at the wolf ghost, sitting before us. "I think this is a bad idea." Tucker said, nervously. "Well, he can't stay at Danny's. Not with it being Ghostkateer central." I said, annoyed at Tuck. "Besides, you're the only one of us who sort of understands him, and we need to get that collar off." said Danny as I walk up to the ghost and place my hand on his collar but that turned out to be a mistake as the wolf roars at me and tries to bite me, causing me to fall backwards into a chair.
"He said not to touch that." Tucker replied, casually.
"Really? I must have missed the subtext." I said, sarcastically.
"I gotta get my Fenton Thermos out of my locker. In the meantime, see if you can find out what Walker's up to." Danny replied as he flies through the roof and leaves.
"So. What's Walker up to? Kiel estas Walker?" Tucker asked.
The ghost speaks but in a language I don't understand. When he stops talking, Tucker leans back and begins to laugh. "You have no idea what he just said, do you?" Sam asked him. Tucker stops laughing and said. "Not a clue." And I can't help but facepalm at this.
*DANNY'S POV*
I arrive at Casper High and fly towards my locker. Once there, I grab the Fenton Thermos and let out a sigh. "Here we go." I muttered just as my ghost sense goes off. "Okay, listen up!" I hear Dash's voice say. I turn around and fly towards a room and peek inside.
Dash is standing in the front of the room and talking to several people, including the principal, Mr Lancer, Paulina, and several other students and faculty. The room is surrounded by torches with blue flames.
"Is everybody clear with the plan?" Dash asked.
"Yes, yes, it should all go down tomorrow after the town meeting." Pauline replied.
"Meeting?" I muttered to myself in confusion. I transform back to my human self and walk up to the doorway. "What town meeting?" I asked as I walk into the room.
At that moment, I heard the door shut behind me and I see Kwan was the one who shut it and then I look around the room to see everyone glaring at me, like I caught them doing something awful. Dash grabs the collar of my shirt a d pins me up to the blackboard. Dash, suddenly, passes out as Walker, still holding on to me, phases out of him.
"Walker!" I exclaimed, shocked.
"Gotcha punk." He replied.
"Lemme go!" I pleaded as Walker and his goons laugh at me.
"How does it feel? No place to run. No place to hide. I'm gonna turn your whole world against you, and by the time I'm done, you're gonna BEG for the safety of my prison." Walker said then he leans closer to me and said. "In the Ghost Zone, where you belong."
"The only thing I'm begging for," I started to say before I turn Ghost and blast Walker back away from me. "Is for you to try some mouthwash!" I finished before I fly away from the school.
I fly above the school when my ghost sense goes off. I turn to see Dash, which I know is possessed by Walker again, flying behind me. He lets out a yell and I tackle him and shove him against a parked car just outside of the Nasty Burger. Then I was knocked forward to the ground and I see that it was Lancer. I fire a blast as I fly off. Suddenly I felt something grab me then shocks me. I scream out in pain as I turn around to see that it's from a grabbing gun that was fired by Principal Ishiyama.

I grab the grapple and use it to toss her into a water tower. Then Pauline grabs me by the shoulder. "You can't get away from me!" She shouts as she turns me around to face her as she hovers over me. Her red eyes glaring at me. "No, thanks! Already taken!" I shouted as I throw her against a billboard.
I land on the side of a building and see Kwan standing a few feet away from me. He does some very showy moves with a ghost baton. When he finished, I give him an unimpressed lool beforr I fire a blast at him from my pointer finger to knock him off the wall. He lands on the sidewalk and I stomp on him and fly off. I fly towards my house and see that they are still after me. "Ghost shield. Ghost shield." I muttered frantically as I look around the house.
Finally I see a button on the wall and I press it to activate the Ghost shield, which covers the whole house. I turn back to a human and see the others being pushed back. They glare at me as I close the blinds of the window. I'm safe, for now at least, I hope Sam, Tucker and (y/n) have had better luck than I had I thought as sit on the couch and lay down.
*YOUR POV*
We were just sitting around wondering what to do with Wulf, who was looking through some photo albums, when suddenly he screams in pain. "That collar! It's hurting him!" Tucker exclaimed. "What'd you think it was, a fashion accessory?" I asked him, sarcastically. "We need to get it off!" Same exclaimed. Tucker pulls out his PDA and plugs it into Wulf's collar to override it.
The PDA shocks Tucker and sends him flying back, but also releases the collar. Wulf feels around his neck and smiles. "No libera!" He exclaimed with joy. "Of course you're free. You--" Tucker started to say but Wulf runs off and jumps out the window. "You're welcome!" Tucker shouts after him. "We should call Danny." Sam said just as Tucker's parents walk in.
"9 o'clock. Curfew time. Lights out, phones off, technology down, computers off." Mr Foley exclaims.
"It's too dangerous to take you home, girls. You two will have to stay here." Mrs Foley said.
"And so we know you kids are safe, your mom and I'll stay in the room with you." Mr Foley said to Tucker as Mrs Foley brings in some sleeping bags. "Alright, next time we take the extra-dimensional fugitive to my place." Sam said, quietly, to us.
The next day, we make it over to Danny's house, which had the Ghost shield up and around it, and walk inside to see Danny getting up from his couch and looking out towards the window.
"At least the shields still up." He mutters.
Then he turns around and sees the time. "And it's ten eighteen?!" He exclaimed as we walk in the living room. "Morning, Sleeping Beauty." I greeted. "How'd you guys get in? The shield's still up." He said. "Hey, it's a ghost shield, not a human shield." Tucker replied.
"Walker's overshadowing everybody around me. I think he's trying to turn everyone in town against me." Danny said.
"Well, that would explain this." Tucker said as he grabs the remote and turns the TV on, which was broadcasting a town meeting.
"We only have one piece of business today: defeating the ghosts that infest our town." The mayor announced as cameras were going off taking pictures. "And to do that, I'm calling for a vote to seed all ghost policing and security decisions to Maddie Fenton." The mayor said as he holds up a picture of Mrs Fenton until his eyes turned red then he puts her picture down and lifts up a picture of Mr Fenton and said. "I mean Jack. Jack Fenton. The completely competent Jack Fenton. And we've located the Ghost responsible for all the terror inflicted on our town." He said then he lifts up a picture of Danny Phantom and said. "This one." And the crowd gasp just ad Danny turns the TV off.

"You know, I have to say. As far as evil master plans go, this one's pretty thorough." Tucker said.
"Its not funny, Tuck. I'm getting my butt kicked all over the place. At school, at home, and now this? I'll be public enemy number one!" Danny exclaims as he seats back down on the couch. Sam grabs the thermos and said. "Here you go. You're gonna need this."
"Are you nuts? If I leave this house, I'm dead." said Danny.
"But Danny, you've got to do something. If you don't, who will?" I asked and Danny looks down for a moment then nods at me.
*DANNY'S POV*
"Order! Order! All in favor of declaring martial law, and allowing the completely competent Jack Fenton to mobilize a massive ghost hunt, please say---"
"I....might be too young to vote, but I'm casting one anyway!" I, in ghost form, interrupted the Mayor as I fly into City Hall. The crowd below begins to freak out. "You people have to listen to me. I'm on your side." I reassured but my dad points at me and screams.
"You're not fooling anybody, ghost kid! You are going down!"
Then he pulls out the Fenton Fisher which was tangled up.
"As soon as I untangle this thing!" He mutters as he untangles the line.
"My parents might be overshadowed, but this should harmlessly push the Ghosts out of them." I muttered to myself and aim a blast at them, knocking them back but no ghost fly out. "Or they could not be overshadowed, and I could have totally ticked them off." I muttered as my mom attaches a laser to her arm and fires at me. I dodge it and hide behind a bench.
Suddenly I felt a hand grab my ankle and I was pulled down underneath City Hall. I open my eyes to see I'm surrounded by Kwan, Lancer, Pauline, Dash, Principal Ishiyama, and the Mayor. "Walker! I should've guessed you'd end up in the guy that makes the rules!" I said to him.
"Shouldn't you be running?" He asked me. I hold up the thermos and asked. "Shouldn't you?"
Everyone gasped and start to scatter away, well everyone except Paulina. She grabs me but I blast the Ghost guard out of her. "What? Huh?" She said, coming to her senses. She looks up to see the Ghost and screams until I capture it in the thermos. "One down, four to go." I said to myself.
"You saved me." Paulina said to me. "So, you're like a friendly ghost?" She asked.
"Yeah, with some friendly advice: RUN!" I shouted as Kwan flies by and hits me, knocking the thermos away as Paulina runs out.
Suddenly I'm surrounded by Kwan and Lancer. I take both of my hands and blasts the two ghost out of them. Lancer and Kwan see the Ghost and scream then they see me and run away. "Where's the thermos?" I asked until the two ghost disappear into two ghost portals. I smile and turn to thank the person but see that it's my mom who has the Fenton Bazooka and takes aim at me but I feel a hand on my shoulder and I'm pulled down to the ground where I see the principal holding the theroms, both her and Dash hovering over me.
"Looking for this?" She asked as she aims the thermos at me. But before anything could happen, Wulf appears and swipes the two away. "What are you doing?" Dash asked Wulf. Wulf says something in another language but the only word I recognized was friend. I smile at Wulf, who stabs his claws into Dash and the principal to pull out the two ghost out of them.
My mom fires at them to get rid of them then I felt myself flying off. I look behind me to see the Mayor, or Walker, has while of me. "What are you doing?" I asked. "There's all types of prisons, kid..." He replied as we make it back up to City Hall and fly toward the front door.
He throws me behind him and wraps my arms around him the he opens the door. "I'm making sure your prison is the town you live." Walker replied as I try to pull off of him but he's too strong. "Help! Help me! Help!" He cries out in the Mayor's voice to the town's people then we go back inside the Hall. "Now they'll never trust you." Walker said in his normal voice.
Angry, I pull off of him and fly away just as he turns around to see Wulf standing there. Wulf digs his claws into the Mayor and pulls out Walker. The mayor stumbles back into my arms just as my mom walks in with her bazooka and said, quickly. "Get your hands off of our duly elected leader, you odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consiciousness!" She fires at me but Wulf, who still has a hold of Walker, jumps in front of me and gets hit by the portal.
"Wulf! No!" I screamed as both Wulf and Walker are being sucked into the portal.
"Friend! We'll meet again!" Wulf replied.
"So will we, punk! Feared on Earth and wanted in the Ghosy Zone? You've lost, ghost kid! LOST!!!" Walker exclaimed bedore the two of them disappear.
I hear a noise next to me and I see that the bazooka is right there in my face as I hear my mom say. "By the authority invested in me by the city of Amity Park, I sentenced you ball from once you came!"
"Oh man, I have got to start paying more attention in these fights." I muttered to myself, frowning.
But the bazooka fails to fire and my mom finds a note attached to the side. She picks it up and reads. "Honey, forgot to fully charge Fenton Bazooka -Jack. P.S: Can I have another cookie?" I shake my head and smile and said.
"With that. I bid you a fair farewell." I fly up to the roof as mom screams at me.
"You haven't seen the last of me!"
"Duh, I'll see you at dinner." I said to myself as I fly out of city hall and back home.
The next day, things started to go back to normal as we sit outside for lunch at school. "Man. You think that was hard to find a place to go ghost during school hours before!" Tucker said as Sam reads the newspaper.
"So even eith everybody thinking you're a bad ghost, you're still gonna try to be the hero?" Sam asked as she looks over at me.
"Well, somebody's gotta. Hey, not me? Who's gonna protect this town?" I said as I look over at (y/n), who smiles at me. I smile back and take her hand in mine while saying. "Besides, it's not like I can ignore a scream for help." Then I hear someone scream. "HELP!"
I turn around and see my parents chasing after Lancer and screaming. "GHOST!" at him.
"Except, that one." I said and the four of us began to bust out laughing at the sight before us.

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
