《The Ninth Eeveelution》The Battle

After receiving my new name, Ash declared he wanted to battle me. I was lazy, so denied at first but Pikachu eventually persuaded me to battle. Bonnie and Serena hung back in the cabin while the boys and their pokemon followed in tow.
The small town was in a remote, forested area. So there wasn't any worry about where we battled. Ash found a large clearing behind the cabin and we decided to battle there.
"Alright!" Ash shouted. He stood across from me. He pointed at me. "Pikachu! Let's go!"
Pikachu quickly jumped a few meters in front of me.
"Good luck!" Talonflame cheered. It was unclear who each pokemon were ruding for, but I just assumed it was for Pikachu.
"The battle between Ghasteon and Ash and Pikachu will now begin!" Climont declared.
"Use quick attack!" Ash said immediately. Pikachu ran up to me before I could react. He was fast. Pikachu attempted to ram into me, but fazed through me.
I took advantage and used shadow claw, knocking him away from ash. I prepared a barrage of shadow balls around me. I heard Ash shout behind me as I fired my move.
"Pikachu! Use iron tail and deflect the shadow balls!"
Pikachu spun around in the air and his tail glowed a light grey. My shadow balls bounced harmlessly off of Pikachu and landed on the ground, tearing it apart, spraying dirt, dust, and chunks of rock everywhere.
"Alright!" Ash cheered.
"You really trust him, don't you?" I asked Pikachu.
"Yeah, we've been through a lot." He answered.
I used psychic and lobbed the rocks around me toward Pikachu. He dodged them by spamming quick attack and jumping between them. He used this as a chance to close to me.

"Use thunder bolt at point blank!" Ask shouted.
Pikachu's body was enveloped in yellow electricity and he discharged it in front of me. I tried to dodge it, but the thunder bolt changed direction and struck me. I felt a mild stinging as I jumped back.
I need to gain some distance. I can't let Pikachu use thunder bolt again. They said I'm a ghost type. I can only take around two more before I faint.
Pikachu and I circled each other. He knows my entire move set. This is bad.
"Pikachu! Hit em with as many electro balls as you can!"
Pikachu raised his tail and a ball of electricity generated in front of it. Pikachu thew it but I easily jumped away. I charged up my own shadow balls and launched them against Pikachu's attack.
Each orb would clash against another and fizzle out. We stood there spamming attacks at the other. I knew I was wasting energy at this point.
"Thunderbolt! Now!" Ash ordered suddenly. Pikachu did a much weaker, but faster thunder bolt and struck me head on. Small bolts emerged from the whole and escaped into the ground.
As I stood back up, I noticed the ground shocking me a little. I examined the dirt closely. There was traces of metal in it.
To everyone's confusion, I stuck the ground with a shadow ball. Just as I expected. An iron deposit.
I used psychic, and I strained to break off and lift small chunks of iron out. This is really draining. I made them circle around me.
Without Ash's word, Pikachu used thunder bolt. I sent forward an iron chunk to collide with the bolt. The bolt was absorbed into the metal and it exploded into shrapnel, hitting Pikachu. He was slightly taken aback, but regained his footing.

With this iron ring, I charged forward at Pikachu. I used shadow claw. He went flying into the air. I used physic and flung him into the ground. Not what I wanted to happen, but it'll work.
I charged up a massive shadow ball above me, as I seemingly floated midair. How did I do it? I don't know. At the moment, I didn't really care.
I released the ball downward and it collided with the ground. Climont and Ash were blown on their backs and the land rung like a bell. The trees shook violently and their leaves were torn off.
When the smoke cleared, only a small black crater could be seen. I dropped my iron fragments and landed soundly on the ground. Pikachu was no where to be seen. I felt exhausted. That move took up a bunch of my energy.
Just then, Pikachu leaped over the crater, charging a thunder bolt. It hurt way more than last time as it hit me in the back. As Pikachu landed in front of me, the world was drifting away from me. Was I dying again? Serves me right. Should have died a long time ago.
Then everything went black.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)
