"can you close the curtains please," harlow whined, shielding her eyes from the light shining in the room.
colby chuckled, "you're dramatic today,"
harlow grabbed the nearest pillow from his bed and threw it at the boy. "shut up," she groaned, sliding further underneath the covers.
harlow's memory was foggy from the night before. she remembered ranting about colby to the girls, and kind of remembered puking in the garbage can outside of taco bell, but she couldn't remember much else after that.
she was extremely confused when she woke up in colby's bed because she was still annoyed with him. colby eventually explained that kat and tara brought her to him because the girls couldn't handle her antics anymore. apparently once harlow was with colby she tried to escape to the roof to swan dive into the pool. eventually, she ran out of energy and passed out in colby's bed.
colby listened to the girl's request and closed the blinds.
"where are you going?" harlow asked as she watched colby walk away from the bed. "come back and cuddle."
colby wasn't facing harlow, but she could tell that he was rolling his eyes. "oh, so now you want my attention," colby spun around to look at harlow, arms crossed in defiance.
"don't be like that." harlow groaned, pushing her body upright until she was sat leaning against the wall. "we were havin' a girls night. no boys."
"jake took you to taco bell," he pointed out, still not moving any closer to the hungover harlow.
harlow had nothing to retort back because colby was right. harlow was simply annoyed with colby, for something that he really couldn't control.
even though everything in her wanted to find something to shoot back, harlow nodded. "you're right. i'm sorry."
colby softened at the harlow's apology. he took a few short strides towards the bed, then climbed underneath the covers to join harlow. colby could hear harlow faintly sigh when he wrapped his arm around her, bringing her close to his chest.

harlow stayed there with colby for what felt like forever, even though only a few minutes had passed in reality. she was so content in that moment. the sun was just barely peeking through the curtains in colby's room, but she was warm just from the mere contact of colby's bare skin to hers. blissful would be the word she would use to describe her feelings in that moment.
harlow lifted her head from colby's bare chest to glance up at the boy. he had his eyes closed and his head tilted up to the ceiling. she reached up to place a soft kiss on the corner of his mouth, causing colby to smile.
"i like this very much," harlow admitted her head now against colby's shoulder.
"i like you very much," colby responded just as quickly.
harlow laughed, "you're so cheesy, brock."
"well, my name is colby," he made a ba dum tsh sound after his poor joke.
harlow rolled her eyes at the boy, "it's way too early for these jokes. i need at least three more hours of sleep before i can be witty."
colby chuckled at the brown-haired girl. "you can go back to sleep, you know. sam and i have a few meetings today, so you'll have the bed all to yourself."
"thank god," harlow laughed, "you're such a blanket hog,"
"and here i was thinking you would actually miss me,"
harlow pretended to think about it before saying, "don't think so,"
colby laughed, "yeah, you definitely need some more sleep."
harlow held up her middle finger to the boy before rolling over and pulling the blankets up.
"i'll be back at four, probably. do you want to go for dinner tonight?" colby asked, ignoring harlow's attitude.
harlow rolled back over at the mention of food. "yes, please."

colby grinned, "okay. it's a date."
colby bent down to harlow's level, placing a gentle kiss on her lips. even though these kisses were now regular occurrences, harlow still felt like it was their first kiss every time. as he began to pull away, harlow looped her hands around colby's neck, bringing him back to her. they stayed like that for a long while.
or at least until sam opened the door while saying, "colby c'mon we're gonna be late," he looked at the two, making a disgusted face. "gross."
harlow picked up the pillow she threw at colby, now throwing it at sam. "goodbye samuel. have a great meeting." harlow said sarcastically.
colby gave harlow one final kiss before following sam out of the room. "see you tonight, harls. wear something hot." he winked at her, then closed the door to the room.
damn.
harlow tried to fall back asleep, but was now wide awake after the make-out session with colby and the comment about wearing something hot for tonight. ever though it was only ten in the morning, harlow was already trying to plan what she would wear for their dinner date later that night.
a date, she thought. he called it a date. a real, in public date?
harlow tossed and turned, eventually deciding she wasn't going to fall back asleep. she threw the covers off, grabbed one of colby's sweaters off the couch, and made her way downstairs. tara, devyn, and kat were all stood around the island in the kitchen, laughing.
"good morning, sunshine," kat called out in a sarcastic tone. "you look so beautiful this morning."
"i could say the same about you," harlow replied while laughing. "so, did i miss anything last night?"
tara glanced at devyn quickly before responding. "nope. we basically went to bed after we gave you to colby."
harlow nodded, picking at the fruit on devyn's plate. "i can't believe y'all really made colby babysit me last night,"
devyn laughed, holding her hand up to her mouth. "to be fair, you did yack outside of taco bell."
all four girls laughed, remembering harlow's especially drunken state.
"true,"
"anyway," tara started off, "how was this morning? are you still annoyed with colby?"
katrina giggled, "i would say no," harlow whipped her head towards the blue-haired girl. "sam and i could hear you two aaaaalll morning. do you stop for air when you kiss?"
harlow laughed, holding up her middle finger once more that morning. she ignored kat's remark, turning back to tara. "turns out i'm not annoyed with him. i think i'm just more annoyed with the situation. but that's honestly not really something he can fix. i'm kinda the one doing it to myself if that even makes sense."
tara nodded, "totally."
"it sounds like colby is trying to dip his toe into the whole public relationship thing, though," devyn said, pausing to eat a raspberry. "on his way out he mentioned that you two were going on a date tonight,"
harlow smiled shyly. "i guess so," she continued to pick at dev's plate of fruit. "actually, he told me to wear something hot tonight. i have no idea what to wear, or where we could be going." she admitted.
kat grinned, "you know what that means," she started. harlow knew what was coming.
"we're going shopping!"
she lives!!!!
i honestly had 0 motivation to write this until now, but i think i'm past the writer's block spell. hopefully i'll get back into regular updates now!

46 Year Old Syndrome
The daily Litrpg journal of a fairly average 46 year old man in a world where hundreds of thousands of people suddenly have a super power.Follow him as he learns skills, runs away a lot, suffers crippling headaches, avoids reading his titles, and tries to avoid breaking his body that didn't get enough calcium and vegetables.[Disclaimer 1: Despite the following, I will fix any typos pointed out. This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]

HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. Even war. 18-year-old Nic Sigfried wants the high score. Virtually piloting a real-life robot, he'll face off against his peers with the help of his AI guidance system, RTIFIS. The prize?
