harlow had been spending most of her free time with kat and devyn. the three girls had become somewhat inseparable. somewhat, because harlow still took her degree seriously, and never missed a class.

that is, until today. it was a regular wednesday morning, harlow had a 10:30 psych class, and then a break until her evening class at 5:45. wednesday's were harlow's long days, as both classes were once-a-week, meaning the class was extra long.

kat and devyn had been bugging their friend for the past week to convince her to cut classes and come out to the pier with them. the group of friends had been planning to have a full day trip to the santa monica pier. and as much as harlow wanted to join her friends, she insisted that her education comes first.

it was about 9 am, and harlow was sat at her desk editing an essay for her entry-level english class. she had turned her phone on silent because kat and dev kept texting her, but that didn't stop the messages coming through on her mac.
